There's a count in Sweden on the border of Norway, fairly low prospects.

May be one of French or Byzantine counts? Chance to expand inside the Realm or conquer INFIDELS?

The Challenge

Game version: 1.05e
Mods: CKII+ (v 1.08)
Saving: no reloading (you can however save and continue later)
Time: untill monday evening (so: friday, saturday, sunday)

The challenge: take control of House d'Armagnac in southern france (Counts of Armagnac), start in the year 1066 and play untill the Il-khanate converts to the Sunni faith (1248?). Post the screenshot of your empire and your score here. After-action-reports are encouraged. In addition, you must -roleplay- your leader. If he is Lustful, you won't say no to some sex on the side. If he is Zealous, you will not take any choices against religion or religious leaders.

Gave it a start myself (60 years so far), and it is -awesome- Knowing that you can't reload makes you look at things differently. Especially if your Grand Ambition is smacked by sudden foreign invasion or the ruler dying. I was made the Marshal of France and died trying to quell Waldesian revolt in Paris...but not at once. First it was a wound, that resulted in an amputation a month later and amputation that resulted in a horrible, slow death.

I have quite a decently sized family. I have one male member in the entire dynasty. They're cursed with an inability to get male children it seems. Quite annoying.

Ok! I'm only in the year 1105 in my challenge. The Kingdom of France became an elective, and hoorah I held the most votes and am universally popular! One sneaky assassination and I am King of France!

I've started to expand into Iberia, as well as taking a -tiny- piece of sicily from the a muslim trying to gain Independence.

This game is simply divine. I'm a long time fan and junky of Paradox, although mainly Europa Universalis and Crusader Kings. It's a terrible waste that these games aren't being used in schools. They're great for learning about geography, history, politics and war. And humanity's inherent evil.

Them Fatimids can be quite strong, even as AI. Primarily the reason why I now start in 1076/1077. They always blob and when I start at that date they're not capable of doing it that much.

My House of Anjou game is going quite well. Closing in on the French throne very quickly.

The Byzantine Empire Roman Empire is going to get some love!

As someone who doesn't play the East Roman Empire* ;D I don't think i'll be getting this.. I really am not drawn to the Byzantines.

Constitutionally speaking the division between Western Roman Empire and Eastern Roman Empire was purely an administrative division. It was not a division into two states. There was one indivisible state: The Roman Empire. So that's what I'm calling it and that's what everybody here is going to call it from now on! No more Eastern Roman Empire, no more Byzantine Empire, no more Byzantium. It is the Roman Empire!

Bitch please, the Byzantines Romans had flamethrowers. Crusader Kings 2 cannot simulate the awesomeness of that fact. This game is awesome but it simply cannot fathom the awesomeness of the Roman Empire.


I'm saying this because I want to avoid an MP game cause I still really fucking suck at this game.
