Can you ride women you're not married to. I read something about illegitimate bastards and I want to fill the world with them.

Btw: if you have more than 2 duchies, your vassals will start hating you (-5 opinion per duchy) so it is recommended to only have 2 duchies, all counties with em and fill the rest of your Demesne up by building Baronies in those counties.

Also:

My line of Roman Emperors is safely on the throne, ruling Germany, Poland, Lithaunia, Northern Italy, half of spain and most of Northern Africa, including Egypt&Nubia.

My clever machinachions will soon see Serbia (most of the balkans) into my domain, as my heiress is in matrilinial marriage with the serbian king, so their heir will rule both! Now to hope this Serbian king pushes his claims for parts of Greece and Bulgaria.

Now gave spanish vassals enough 'power' to conquer the rest of the spain on their own, so can forget that piece of the world.

Now: steal the throne of france, find a way to steal croatia as well, and then move into the crumbled Byzantine Empire (it is reduced to 3 counties around Constantinople). Hopefully the pope will keep calling those crusades and give me a chance to eat up some more muslim lands.

I might actually succeed in reforming the Roman Empire to the size it had at the height of its power Surprised

One Empire, One Emperor, One Faith!

Yup. Sometimes you will get an event where you will get the chance to begin a relationship with one of your courtiers.

Holy Roman Empire is now almost as big as -the- roman empire.

Still lacking England, Kabylia (Sicily got that), Southern Italy (sicility), portugal, some pockets in france, some pockets in greece, Anatolia, Syria and Levant.

Not sure I will be able to proceed though, Empire is falling apart Sad Even best of kings can't hold it all together...

Finally crowned myself the King of Ireland, and only three counties remain, all of which will soon fall into my clutches. I am slightly angered that for some reason Ulster belongs to Scotland, thus stopping me from uniting the -whole- Island, and angering my OCD.
I might need to change the succession laws again, as my Wife thought it would be fun to only give me daughters, already knowing my Vassals are already near revolt.

King Eddard Astark ruled for many years, he was loved by all. His pre-start daughter Grethe was married off to a swedish bloke (whom eventually ended up in jail btw).

He himself married the mother of Holy Rome's Emperor, they were married many years until her death, she bore no offspring to King Eddard of Denmark.

At the beginning he was cheating on her with a courtier of house Ylving, but fell out of love eventually, and she bore no bastards. When the old empress was old, he took some mistresses but they bore no bastards.

His wife died, and I force him to marry the girl from House Ylving that he used to love years back, and she doesn't bear him offspring either. Until he hit 60! Then she got pregnant, Robert I Astark, Prince of Denmark!

And then another pregnancy when he was 62, Sansa 1, princess of Denmark. Then the game forced me to sleep with a chubby courtier that I held no interest in, but you could only accept it... :< She gave birth to Rikke, whom I denounced in favour of opinion from my family.

His wife gets pregnant again, and he dies... Child is born after death, so I may not name him, he's Yngvar, prince of Denmark.
Robert rules, but is assassinated.

Sansa rules, becomes loved by all. She tries to claim a county in Sweden, due to fabricates there giving her claim on it, but there's heirs and ruler in the way, she tries to assassinate the heir, higher % to succeed, but it didn't. She was murdered.

Yngvar inherits, now an adult himself. But Sansa's rep was so bad, that no one liked him either. Every bloody vassal I have revolt and crush all that I have, Edvard of House Ylving proclaims himself King of Denmark.

I'm still Prince, and Grethe is forced back to Denmark from Sweden. She's now ruling a Duchy in Denmark, Yngvar is just .. about?
I'll try get my country back, but Grethe's getting old and is married with a guy I do not want to give me offspring to rule Denmark.

Decided to start writing down the events of my games, for the lols.. I'm loving my current game as the King of Britanny, the french king is -raging-. He keeps invading me and has NO money to do so. So he always loses and I cash in.. I also took Wales, whcih gave me a foothold in britain, which is falling apart. The biggest duchies are Lancaster and the Isles. Scotland and England are like 3 county kingdoms, waiting to be usurped..

To ensure the survival of my bloodline!!!

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

My current king - My mother's brother is my grandfather, and my father's father is the same grandfather. And many of those children not yet grown and married, are married to eachother in some way. Few children are off family to gain power somewhere else. Oh and my current king took the last wife of my grandfather, she bore him no offspring and was a half political scheme. She took me two assassinations to gain, only to gain a county from her brother, who's son I have given one of my many daughters, to then assassinate him and give it to me.

OBJECTION! You can play as Muslims and Pagans with a small file tweak.

Unfortunately you cannot play as orders because the entire game is about making your dynasty last forever, and orders do not have hereditary titles!

Also I love how this game is spreading.. I look forward to our utterly chaotic multiplayer..

Loving my new game! Started as 'Britanny' with my custom ruler André De Cassells I, Duke of Britanny. I pretty much ravaged the north of France with the help of the inept King of France. By the time André II of Britanny was becoming a very old man he finally founded the Kingdom of Britanny, making him André I.

With as much of France as I wanted, (roughly the top third of modern france) I decided to form an empire. But should I go Francia or Britannia? My imperialistic heart knew it's song.. I sailed across the channel.. Not to England however, my chancellor had found me a claim on the duchy that made up most of Wales. With swift ship and swift sword I conquered and founded the Kingdom of Wales.

It didn't take long before England split under my influence, Lancaster rose up to depose the corrupt ENglish King, this made the place ripe for the taking. For -some reason- England was an elective Monarchy and in about a decade I had most elective votes and voted myself King. As King André II of Britanny, Wales and I of England died, his fresh young son formed the British Emprie (Britannia.)

I was shocked and appauled how quickly the United Irish Nation gave me it's fealty. After that show of loyalty scotland, my ancient ally from a century before bent the knee and offered me loyalty. I of course will have no King in my realm that doesn't bare my name. I revoked their titles and smote those who opposed me.

Emperor André I of Britannia (King André III of Britanny, Wales, II of England and I of Scotland and Ireland.) Is my current position! I've decided the King of Ireland will be the traditional title of the heir of the throne. The Kingdom of Wales will be the traditional title of the spare.

But yus, that's my current game.

I had an epic new game too.

Started as High Chief of Azov under the Cuman Khanate. While the Orthodox world was busy fighting a Holy War against the invading Seljuks, I snatched the De-Jure byzantine imperial provinces in the duchy of Kherson (Crimea), and then, using the same holy orthodox war by taking the duchy of Abkhazia from the king of Georgia.

My heir was an incompetent fool. So I changed the laws to Elective. Since only counts in De jure duchy of Azov (I held most votes) could vote, I got the heir I wanted.

While the Turkmens were fighting a war against Orthodox Alania, I used my de-jure claim on Abkhazia to claim a piece of their land. Then Sunni sultan of Azerbaijan took Abkhazia from me, and Turkmens used de jure Alanian claim to take one of my counties.

Fortunately, I had relations with the Khan for two generations and he called for a war to grant Abkhazia back to its rightful ruler (me!). I used Turkmen dynastic crisis to snatch Alania. One of my countrymen was married to the Duchess of Akote, within Cuman domain. His heir was a dynast. So I used his claim to incorporate Duchy of Akote into my domain.

In two subsequent holy wars, I conquered Khwarizm and Itil from the Turkmens. Duchess of Crimea is married to my ruler and they have heirs of my dynasty. The old king dies, and a woman is elected (she got good traits and vassals like her)

Few years later the Cuman Khan dies and is replaced by a complete imbecile. I get a plot to seize the Cuman KHanate. First of all, I control 1/3rd of the land directly. Duchess of Crimea is my ruler's mother and supports me, duchess of Tyumen is part of my dynasty and other duchies are close allies. So -all- the duchies within the Cuman Kingdom sign my claim to the khanate. The imbecile-khan is so impressed that he -stands down- without a fight. I immediately distribute duchies to my family members and move to elective system again, since 3/5ths of all duchies are ruled by my family I can be certain that throne will remain within the dynasty.

Family Empire!

Now waiting for the Golden Horde to come so that I can bend the knee (I am also Tengri!)

Now my salespitch for Elective succession. It is -awesome- if you run a 'family realm'. Since -most of the time- vassals who like you vote your way, and even if they don't it means that the new ruler has awesome traits and is universally loved (otherwise nobody would vote for him) which makes succession chaotic, but post-succession revolts not a threat.

There is something I cannot -stand- about elective succession. In my head if my son is born first, by the gods he'll rule. If he's incapable or idiotic, i'll deal with it. Everytime someone insists on bringing in elective monarchy, I punish them.

Harshly.

I've finally managed to keep alot of gold, alot of prestige, a strong bloodline.

BUT I STILL CAN'T CLAIM TERRITORIES Sad
I'm Scotland, and that Isle of Man & Norway parts of Scotland keep attacking me, taking counties from me. But I can't take them back 'cause they're independant. Even the Marshal of England took a part of my land D: And he was independant too. ._.

And worse is, I can't fight them back cause they only attack when I'm busy with civil wars.

I'd suggest retaking your lands with brute force. You say you have a lot of Gold, you should be able to hire mercenaries safely, whom's armies are absolutely -huge-. The cheapest one has an army of around one thousand, if I'm not mistaken. Combine that with the armies of your vassals and declare War on those whom have wronged you.
