But i'm actually writing up a three part story explaining his reasoning. Its not so much 'changing' his name by 'deedpoll' but he takes up a new one and stops using another :p

Hopefully you should all like the story's, as it will illuminate Seikens early life and childhood some. (which i dont believe -anyone- knows IC).

I don't see a general problem with having the name Trollbane and also saying that you have no relation and will never take the throne while Danath is in the sauna known as Draenor. We've all been newbies in RP, we've all done our loling.

Seeing as this thread is already made its will done as Seiken has changed his name to Lionmane, I can't really sway it.

I still vote for Trollbane.

Well....that damn well explains me fighting Thuros (and losing, me in pve he in pvp) and your comment about me getting beaten by Trollbane...was wondering where Seiken was and trying to figure out that statement...

I was new to RP as well and when I first heard about Trollbane i.e. Seiken, my first thoughts were, "Eh? Thought they were all dead...could be a relative or something...". No lie, those were the thoughts that ran through my head when I first heard someone mention Trollbane during RP. So, not sure about why people are whining about the name to be honest... seems like a silly thing to complain about in my opinion.

I mean, lineages can be spread out amongst hundreds of cousins and the like. I don't see anyone making the same complaints to people who RP with the last name Mistmantle and other titles, or lineages like that. Or your guy could have earned the title Trollbane in the course of his IC history....if not before he was OOCly made, then definitely over the course of your playtime with him if the tales I'm hearing are anything to go by.

So, that's why I voted you keep going on as Trollbane. Screw the people who can't think, "Hey, maybe he's a distant cousin" or "That is an earned title" or stuff like that and only focus on the whole in-game characters. Least that's my take on it.

You should've stuck to telling all the people with their snide comments and jabs to fuck off. I didn't agree with Trollbane at first either, and you stuck with it when an entire server dumped on you for ages. You did a lot to earn it. Far too much about this server and the community changes being introduced a lot of the time get on my nerves. Changing something pretty established, even if some don't agree with it, is just tiresome.

I personally voted to change it, not because I have a problem with it, but because of all the drama it could lead to (as has already happened many times over IIRC) if left as Trollbane. Even if you have reasons for claiming power other than the name, many people won't agree and will simply call BS on the basis of "He's a Trollbane so he thinks he owns everything".

In my opinion, you'd have much more freedom as Lionmane than Trollbane, and your claims to power would generate far less drama.
