Deathwing - Dead as a dodo? the poll!

Right, i'l keep this simple mainly for the poll. do you believe deathwing is dead IC? i made a third option beyond yes and no to raise the question of if you would like to have it confirmed soon.

Once enough votes are in, perhaps we can all debate a day/date/event to have it formally recognised. (perhaps even hold some street partys).

I personally believe DW would die at the end of the patch so as to round off the content? Seems a bit odd to kill him so quickly and then have months where nothing happens to change anything apart from returning to normallity? Idk thats my opinion anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, he can be counted as dead already. I very much enjoyed the time back in WotLK after the Lich King's death, which allowed for some -very- interesting RP situations of Horde-Alliance tensions. I think there should at least be some period before the next major content patch in which he's already considered dead, as to at least allow some kind of period of transition.

Err.. IC I've taken him as dead since his jaw appear in SW, we already discussed this on the forums, first HC kill or w/e, which is a while ago, isn't it?

Generally I believe we've gone on Heroic kills on this realm (since they were issued). And so far it's unkilled the last state. But don't mind me, I'm not active.

I think we should indeed have the opportunity to RP this out. As potentially awkward as it is to pin a time, saying 'the raid's happened, he's dead, too late' is giving up a good chance to RP.

Let's have one anyway, we all know Stormwinders are SLOW AS FUX and probably didn't even know what the Jaw was.

And yes a transition period is needed, going from one month deathwing to next month whatever next thing will destroy the world is silly.

I for one think it absolutely disgusting that we'd actually wait for PvE to control our RP. Who gives a crap who gets the first heroic kill?

However, the jaw is present in Orgimmar and Stormwind, that to me says that he is dead. I'd think we'd know it. However that isn't to say that we can't organise a celebration now!

I'm cool with waiting for the first heroic kill tbh. Since I'm pretty sure that was already discussed.

I believe that it's best to leave things like this unsaid. Deaths of bosses are necessarily a paradox in multi-player games, from Hogger all the way through to Deathwing. We are all entitled to consider the slaying of Deathwing to be part of our own story, at whatever point we get to it. If a big celebration is held when someone else kills Deathwing, those who haven't been part of that kill are denied the opportunity to be the hero.

Everyone isn't supposed to be the Hero.

Yes, but as a roleplayer you're supposed to acknowledge your not a main character, you're just one person.

It's not like RPers go around claiming to have killed bosses, anyway, so I don't see as it diminishes anyone's roleplay experience to say that Deathwing, or the Lich King, or whoever, is dead.

Ignoring it is really awkward, if you ask me. I remember in Wrath Annie was always talking to soldiers at the Blade, asking how things were up north, etc. Although Cata hasn't been as centred on one thing as Wrath was, knowing whether or not Deathwing is dead would, I think, be a huge deal to most of our characters - and his death would be a vast reason to celebrate.

The one thing that will always kinda question when DW is dead is the fact that from what I remember he is still flying around azeroth burning the place. I could very well be wrong but I read nothing about removing that in any patch note so.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's still there when Cata launches due to bliz lazyness.
