If you people read the original post carefully it is clear that it's about the Light. Also i have to agree with Corleth's opinion. I could only imagine elves holding speach if by some miracle they actually converted to the religion of Light.

ICly it is important to remember that this is indeed a Mass held by the Church of the Holy Light and as such, it would not be fitting to invite other religions to speak. Vrachos and Thelos have been invited to speak as guests of the Cathedral of Light as they are indeed worshippers of the Light.

I am most enthusiastic for Night Elves to role-play an active practice of their religion, but unfortunately as Corleth says, it is not appropriate for the Church of the Holy Light to lend itself as a host for alternate preaching. This does not mean to say that the Church, it's Clergy or followers are intolerant towards other religions, only that the Church will primarily act upon it's own will, Velspeth included.

I hope that these Masses are not confused as a forum for debate on different religions, as it is certainly not intended to be. These sermons are given to those who are followers of the Light, and fundamentally I perceive it should remain as such. Community of the Light is a better forum for discussion on the Light in a more theological sense, however these masses are not.

Night Elves are welcome to attend, if as by miracle their views are in accordance with the Church's, but the Church will not be inviting speakers who believe in anything other than the Light to deliver Mass.

I read once that Draenei Shamamamamaman's concider the elements to be an aspect of the light but Im not really up on the lore in that area.

the whole story is based upon the premise that the Light reached Nobundo in another way, if i remember rightly, the winds spoke to Nobundo at the Oasis and said something like..

"the Light has not abandoned you, you are just unable to hear its voice" and heavily leans on the idea that the elements are simply another way of the Light reaching out.

Its a lovely story actually, as far as WoW ones go anyway ;p

It's one of the readings, yes, but definately not the only one. Another interpetation would be that the Elements, though distinct from the Light, may very well be a valuable force on their own and worthwile to ally ourselves with. Also, I do not see how you have to give up your faith in the Light to practise Shamanism, like, at all. Why should you be demanded to denounce your Faith in your Divinity in order to be allowed to commune with the Elements? There is no real reason why the two should be mutually exclusive, except for game mechanics.

What Thelos said. Draenei/broken shamans still worship the Light. They do not worship the elements, so much as they respect and commune with them.

This seemed to imply it for me. "My character is a shaman, therefore she cannot have faith in the Light, therefore she must have lost it", or something of the sort. Even if it didn't (and I apoligize if I read your comment wrongly, Morinth) I still feel it is worth to adress the matter, since you see it very often with Draenei shaman, and it rarely makes much sense at all.
