In a way you are correct, hence a very real threat of war would be better than an actual war. It's also worth noting that economical growth does not equal prosperity growth. And I was aiming at the first.
No offense meant but I laughed at that video.. :/ It's so oversimplified that it starts to become ridiculous. I'm not even going to touch how they represented taxes.. I guess they just learnt about opportunity costs and applied it in a very silly way.
Actually, they're very nearly quoting Hazlitt's Economics in one Lesson which is a book praised by Nobel Laureate F.A. Hayek (and Milton Friedman) It's the first chapter of the book, even. Hazlitt's also considered one of the fathers of the Austrian school of economics. His handling of taxes feels a bit counter intuitive, but it does make sense if you think about it. ...As you might have guessed I own that book
But it was primarily meant to show the broken window fallacy which was illustrated through the bakery.
Though I'm not exactly educated on the economic front (my knowledge pretty much begins and ends with what I read in the news and Hazlitt's book). Could you explain to me what you exactly mean by the difference in economic growth and prosperity growth? I want to make sure I understood you correctly (and maybe learn a thing or two in the process).

The entire point of the video YOU posted, made by the uploader, was to show that the "Predictions" of Ron Paul, came true, by linking them with something that happened in the past 10 years.
Now if the articles they linked don't match up with the prediction, i've done my research and made my own mind up that the video is bullshit and the people that listen to it and think Ron paul was right in his 2002 speech! he's magnificent! because hey i bothered to actually watch what was being linked.
don't believe propaganda video's make your own mind up.
Arab Spring, removing Democracies and replacing them with fundamentalist Islam governments. Thank you very much you-tube user and people that buy into this crap.

OBJECTION!
Avatar: The Legend of Korra (2012)
- Spoiler:
Korra concept art
- Spoiler:
Wakfu (2010-2012)
- Spoiler:
Adventure time (2011-2012)
- Spoiler:
Wakfu and Adventure Time are two of my favorite shows of last year that are carrying on in 2012, and Avatar: The Legend of Korra is pretty much my most anticpating anything of the year, considering I was a huge fan of the original series. There's still plenty of good cartoons being made. These are just three of my favorite, and I haven't even gotten into the cartoon which has grown into a motherfucking phenomenon. It has even gotten to the point that word of it is leaking trough to populair media. Seriously, I read a column about it today in the Dutch Metro.
Yes, I am talking of course about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
- Spoiler:
Cartoons haven't gotten worse. If anything, they've gotten better. Much better. More scarce maybe, but definately of better quality, if only the animation. You just only remember the few gems you saw during childhood and forget all the massive crap we also gobbled up. Now when you've grown up you only have eyes for the crap and discard the gems on the pile of rubbish.

@ Antistia
I'll reply in a PM. Not much point in having this discussion here in the open I think! Also that way, I can make it a bit longer and more nuisanced and in Dutch.

Yes, I watch MLP:FiM. Blame Pest.
And now I'm being the same sort of nostalgic that I've been complaining about xD
Never really got into Anime tho. Lots of friends been pushing me to watch, but I'm just not that much of a fan
Also, why wakfu in french?

It's the original language, and the German dub has so far been pretty shitty.

When an English dub appears, I will be sure to warn the world, though I am not sure why you wouldn't just watch the French series with English subtitles. The voice acting is sublime.

Explaining why you were just caught watching porn is far more easier to explain than being caught watching My Little Pony.

Apparently North Korea is sending people who didn't mourn Kim Jung Il's death enough to "reeducation camps" o.O?

well, even nature mourns for Kim Jong Ill, the death of the great leader has screwed up the animals.
countless birds have been spotted flocking near his grave, and even a bear family hasn't gone into hibernation because they're mourning the great leader's passage.

New MLP sucks.
The old one was my childhood. You know, with ACTUAL proper ponies, not these shitty anorexic mules that just make me want to snap their necks the moment they speak... They're not even funny. ;_;
