half the articles posted next to ron paul's comments only have very distant connontation at best, you need to try better. though it would be fun to see an isolationist US for once :)

But it's my hobby...
And yes, Feydor, he should. If only to allow me to make a nice little liberal out of him.

Japan... Of course, why am I not surprised? No, the Internet has scarred me already, I can take that. Did you know that the latest trend in Japan is girls licking/kissing doorknobs? The pictures of it even seem to have an erotic intent. There is something very wrong with that country.

Ahaha, yeah, I even forgot, my avatar is japanese too. It's definately a place I'd like to visit, just for the sheer difference of culture. Plus the tentacle bitches.

After Hardgay and Giga Pudding. As well as what I think was a gameshow where they tried to get girls to orgasm by sitting on brushes and I think the point was holding out the longest...
Japan really doesn't surprise me anymore.

Germany is in the enviable position that investors are now willing to pay for the privilege to lend Germany money.
They're giving Germany money, to lend Germany money. The German bond rates are now in the negative. Damn.
The BBC has more on this:

You should buy this week's or next week's the Economist.
Anyway, I think the rationale behind this is that if they stash it there for 1 year they'll make less of a loss than elsewhere. This way they make a tiny loss whereas otherwise they would make a large loss. Leaving it in the bank alone would have them make a loss due to inflation. That's my theory anyway.
It goes to show the mess Europe is in.

It depends on what the article exactly means by yield.Antistia wrote:Nithel wrote:That is pretty insane and fascinating.. Remind me to buy this week's or next week's the Economist. x)

But mainly it's that. The financial market hasn't been this nervous in decades. E.g.: A client of my father cannot find a bank that even wants to accept the money he wishes to deposite (I believe it's somewhere around 30 million euro). People are jumpy. Everything is insecure. Banks don't trust one another..
We're really in for some bad times. It feel like a monster to say this. But one of the best things economically that could happen right now is another (World) War :/ Or rather, the very real threat of one.
ps: Just because the yield is negative, does not necesarily mean they make a pure loss from putting their money there. It depends a lot on what this article means by yield, hence I'd like to read an economical article about it.

I guess, as I said that my (uneducated) theory on the matter.
But a World War.. No, I doubt that'd be good for the world economy. Destruction does not lead to prosperity. It's the broken window fallacy blown up to gigantic proportions. A 'GI bill' type legislation might provide the consumer with money to spend in the preserved countries after the war but the destruction of a world war does not lead to prosperity after the world war.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG3AKoL0vEs (while I don't agree with the conclusion they entirely come to in this video, it's a good illustration for those who don't know what that fallacy is)

Oh Toonami <3 How I remember all the mornings before school when I would watch Beyblade...
How annoyed I was when you cancelled Rave Master in the middle of the series when I had not missed a single episode of that interesting and awesome show...
I loved you and loathed you at the same time.

@ Antistia.
In a way you are correct, hence a very real threat of war would be better than an actual war. It's also worth noting that economical growth does not equal prosperity growth. And I was aiming at the first.
No offense meant but I laughed at that video.. :/ It's so oversimplified that it starts to become ridiculous. I'm not even going to touch how they represented taxes.. I guess they just learnt about opportunity costs and applied it in a very silly way.
