Hope this doesnt go offtopic but i didnt want to start a new thread, it's sort of an other game, im talking about warcraft 3 + tft, anyone have any excellent custom map ideas, whenever i get a good one, it's in portuguese or something else. One's preferably with the unit cap 100+. But anything goes.
I've gotten some from Epicwar but there's a million of them, and some of them dont work.
Suggestions? D:

I haven't played WC3 (with or without TFT)for years. All I know is that I beat the unexpanded game fully on Normal.

On game awards of the year.
I wish G4TV and SpikeTV would just drop their annoying reviewer based shows and let those based on Developers thoughts get more light from among gamers instead.

Most "awards" about gaming sucks because they are... badly made, consentrate on strange things. And have sorta shoddy categories.
Also because they are picked out either by almost exclusivly reviewers, or voted by fans. Both being rather flawed.
If we look at awards that is given out in Cinema and Literature. The most prestigues awards are all given out from the center of the mediums. The Academy of Motion Pictures is a group of people central in their medium and I doubt any people who purly review film has ever been taken up there.
Same with most literature price groups that holds prestige. The Nobel Price is picked by the so to speak most "prestigues" (can be discussed) group among the Swedish litterature accademics.
While gaming awards generally are based out of people who watch (in this case play) the medium yet often don't know it's inner working fully. The gaming reviewers also far more often has personal bias shining through, as for example disliking a game because it is motion controlled as they see all motion control as a gimmick. Judging it before play.
Yes, those reviewers exist in film as well, but in general the medium is far more mature. And they don't give out the biggest awards.
Then there is the Fan based awards. That Spike TV seem to be doing. THey are flawed because first, the fan need to know of it happening.
Secondly, it is -easy- to vote more than once.
Thirdly, they will be extremely baised on personal taste, not gaming achivements.
Had fans of movies given out the oscars the summer Blockbusters, not the really good films (summer blockbusters are awesome entertainment, seldom fantastic films) would win Best Picture.
The Dark Knight is a supperb piece of entertainment, it's not a Best Picture in any sense of the word.
Also, many shows about gaming suck because they are often presented in a very basied way. Looking at G4TV for example (I haven't watched it) their big about Games show is supposedly mostly just a big mastrubation to Xbox360, and a hate on the Wii.
The only shows about Gaming I follow is ZeroPunctioation, because watching Yahzee punch through all the faults he can find in a game is most often hillarious. While also generally being spot on. He doesn't review, he just tells people what was wrong. Very opinionated. I'm fine with it because he isn't trying to sell or not sell us a game. He's telling us what he didn't like in a mostly funny way.
The second one is Extra Credits. I follow them because I like what they are trying, and one day might, to get our medium to become.
Something that can encompass everyone. Something mature, something that no one will have to be ashamed of after they grow up. They try to educate both players and developers. Could anyone with BF3 tell me how the sniping is in the game? Only one shot kills through headshots if I'm not mistaken, bullet drop, travel time (?) afaik. In general, is it any good and are the maps good for it (surely they are, this if BF after all, not CoD).
