Needed to get used to the menu. It's so clunky :/
First time fighting a saber tooth cat, one swipe = half health. You can bet your Mer ass that I starting shouting at it.

I fucking lol'd when I saw one of those. Then I started screaming when I realised it was trying to eat my face. :@

I've only ever stampeded past a sabre tooth on my horse!
I love my horse. She' fought dragons with me, and she just won't die.

Be sure to patch the game if playing on PC. Helps the menu alot.
Though I guess I'm used to it now, only a minor annoyance anymore.
Don't know about you all but Archery seems somewhat a must skill to improve in Skyrim atleast if you are not a professional spellslinger. Without any perks into it makes Dragon fights a pain in the ass. D:
My favourite thing overall is the arts style in the game, graphics are bit lacking sometimes but armor and clothing on people look damn great as do almost all character models.
Also quests are so much better, atleast some. Daedric ones for example.

Re: The "other game thread"
Played some Shogun 2 Total War last night.
From around 18:00 until 23:40.
Was over at a friend and we tried out the Co-op campaign. And I'll say this. It was tons of fun. It in itself is a fun game (like the Total War series in general are). But adding that you could sit and babble about shit, look around and generally be "dude win!" in real time and face to face. Made it major epic. In the non autoresolved battles it was a major help since one could just be scouting.
And there are people around to laugh at when you screw up! Like when I pressed autoresolve when I was about to defend against a bigger army!
Later thankfully a friend got a chance...
He had three bow Ashigaru units. The attacked had 6 Bow Saumrai and 3 bow Ashigaru. With some foot.
In the end, two Bow Ashigaru units stood tall. From the defending side! After sitting the whole battle "Yep, we're losing, just do as much damage as you can so I can kill him of fully when my army arrives for revenge!" and just, winning... By having two bow units MELEE an unhorsed general unit. Satisfaction, we got it.
Even better since it was the army that I failed against by mistake by pressing Autoresolve.
All in all, I defenatly recoment the Multiplayer campaign if you are in realtime communication.

Creepy bug, the dragon's skeleton follows me whenever I quicktravel near Whiterun <.>
Also showing my biggest gameplay gripe with Skyrim so far, Companions (That's Lydia in Dwarven armor) can't ride with you/have no mount of their own - exploring is basically impossible if you want a meatshield or extra DPS along. :/ And while we're on the companion subject, has anyone run across a Companion with some actual backstory/running story? So far they all seem to be suffering the glorified mule syndrom.

There is a mage you can get after doing a daedric quest, you get some small info on why it's there and why it'll follow you now.

Oh god zelda... Must resist urge to buy... Ugh.
My cat ate one of my Wii wires so it'll cost a lot! And I'm supposed to be saving.

Re: The "other game thread"
I have ordered the special edition; including the Master Remote. Its due Friday, the European launch.
Sadly I will be fairly busy this weekend so will only be able to properly start this on Sunday but fuck am I excited for this one. I dont have to repeat myself on the matter though seeing as my rant on how great this game is going to be is still found in this very thread a few pages back.
Now I've got the critits to back me up, though. Its been getting pretty stellar reviews so far.

And hillarious unreasonable hate from idiots over at the MMO-champ video game forums "paeeed reviews omg! GOTTA BE WII SUCKS!"
And yes, ordered the special edition. Will trade in two games I don't enjoy anymore for some price down, and Game here had dual bonus for the people with Game cards on a preeorder. Which I smartly will use on this purchase... Bringing prices down? Oh yes!

Re: The "other game thread"
The hardcore gaming crowd had all but given up on the Wii (especially the Wii plus) at this point. There hasn't been a true gem in so long, and there have literally been no proper Wii plus games since Resorts, which lets face was just a tech demo. The average hardcore gamer has no faith in this possibly being a genuinely tripple A game.
Me being the gullible idiot that I am though have been looking forward to "A proper Zelda for the Wii, build up from the ground for the console", since Twilight Princess was a glorified port with some waggling slapped on it. Come on Nintendo, show the world what you intended this Wii plus deal to be and finally win me over. I want to be won over so badly!

Don't diss my Wii Fit man... Ehh.. I mean.. My wife's.. Wii Fit.

<.<
What?
Re: The "other game thread"
Wii fit is tons of fun, I agree!
And the type of gamer I laugh at the most are those who try to claim Nintendo aren't trying to Innovate gaming, calling everything they try "gimmick". Since Sony and Microsofts consoles are oh so much more innovative. *giggles like a crazy maniac*

This, I know of so many great looking games that we don't get since Nintendo America/Europe don't think we'd be intrested in them. While most of the RPG playing crowd would just eat them. Sooooo much loss. >:Kristeas Sunbinder wrote:I go D: everytime I see what kind of Wii games are kept in Japan only. Wtb more english "Tales of" games D:

I'm greedily clutching all my Tales games. No one touches... Symphonia was my favourite, followed by Vesperia. *-* Which I have on Xbox.

Oh no dont get me wrong, I was just speaking on behalf of the "hardcore gamer" there. I myself really love Wii Fit; heck, the disc has pretty much been stuck in my Wii for two years now. But that is what I was getting at: little else of notice has come out for the game that would interest hardcore gamers since its initial burst of first party titles.

Battlefield 1942. The first FPS I ever played. Hell, I still play it, I just got it working on Windows 7. Patching is your friend. So many good memories, and so many panicing moments of realising you have a Bf-109 on your tail. The flying in this game is really what catches me.
