I personally don't mind them being a playable race, nor that we visit their island.
Infact, I loved their landscapes etc, beautiful. And I aint nay saying the pandaren.
However. I'm not quite fussed over them, and might actually not play one, atleast not past their starting zone (for sake of lore).
I feel rather neutral towards them. I'm more interested in the monk class to be fair.
You make really good points there. Yes the landscapes really do look stunning and the monk sounds nice, Just waiting to hear a little more about the expansion and hopfully some lovely things are coming our way. I might change my mind when it comes out but I don't think I will roll a pandaren at this time.

Personally I feel those new talents allow more choices than the current system. Unless you consider taking +10% haste instead of +10% crit a choice.Iralan wrote:Drustai wrote:I was excited until the class/talent changes.
The talents are pretty fine for me as well....like there is much variety in talent choices anyway....or has ever been.

Actually, lots of people disagreed with Plato in the millennia after his death. Even Aristotle held more cred.Because I'm using an image of Plato as my avatar. You cannot disagree with Plato.

The new system will be just the same. Choosing which talents give the most benefit for your current spec/role. It's not as much of a choice as Blizzard is claiming.

Of course. That ideal Blizzard always postulates is impossible. There will always be a best talent spec. That's why we have math and theorycrafters. It is unavoidable in a game as complex WoW.
The increases simplicity of it looks very appealing to me, though. No more hassling around with prerequisite talents and such. I actually like having less "choice moments". Keeping things simple. I've always found the WoW talent system to be very clunky and stupid. I welcome any simplification and streamlining efforts. It is what they promised with Catcalysm but didn't end up delivering. Lets hope they actually try this time.

At the end of the day talents have to all be balanced to a certain extent, hunters for example say in pvp , each certain set of talents would have to balance out to be just as good as one another but in a different play style. But to get the balance right never happens, it's just to hard. Why we get changes in patches all the time.

Chris M. said the Pandaren were supposed to be an alliance race in the burning crusade instead of the Draenei. x_x
But decided to pull the idea out in the end,

What I find worrying so far is that Metzen spent 15 minutes hyping how this expansion would be more about Alliance vs Horde conflict.
Then we get the Isle of Pandas, Pokemon, Pve Dungeons, Challenge PvE Runs, More PvE this and that.
Maybe one more BG and Arena.
Sounds like a proper conflict to me *nod*

I'm trying to avoid passing judgement just based on a few screenshots and a trailer.
But it would be nice to see some Diablo 3 influences spreading into WOW.. ..Little bit more doom and gloom? Please. C'mon.. Just a tad!

I wish they where not splitting into two factions though, it seems silly. I'm really not looking forward to how that one is explained, I hope it's not another lorelol.

Heard talk of two separate Pandaren " clans " one joins the horde and the other to the alliance. Probably the most logical choice really..

Re: Pandaren (And other stuff about the upcoming expansion)
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/game/mists-of-pandaria/
It is the rare pandaren indeed who sought a way beyond the mist. Generations ago, pandaren explorers began to gather on the back of a giant turtle: Shen-zin Su. The great sea turtle roamed Azeroth's oceans, perhaps the only contact pandaren had with the outside world. Eventually, they too lost contact with their mist-shrouded homeland.
Players who choose to create a pandaren character will start their journey on the back of Shen-zin Su. When the great turtle is threatened, and their whole wandering homeland is in jeopardy of being swallowed by the sea, players will have to accelerate their training and spring into action.
During their time on the turtle, players will first encounter the Alliance and Horde. Before they are finished, they'll have to make the most important decision of their lives: Which of the two factions will they support as they venture out to heal a world broken by the Cataclysm and threatened by a global war?
