Ah, forgive me. I just don't trust Frul anymore ever since that horrible accident...

Elixir Engineer <3
Gonna be so hard to pick a main from Guardian, Warr or Engi ;.; And I still need to test the magic classes too!

I think I might switch from rolling a mesmer to rolling a warrior (keeping the rp idea ). I really like the blocking skill [5] when using a shield and I'm pretty sure that if you buckle down, that you can be used as cover by allies.

Any updates for us poor non-beta folk?
I mainly wish to know something in particular. There's been alot of hype around this game. Everything was perfect. Nowadays more and more people whine about this and that when I browse forums.
Do you beta testers experience more and more flaws as you play or are these whiners the usual whiners?

I didn't play the last BETA. But I'd say some whine is the usual whiners. And some isn't whine but reports of things that are right now bugged etc, not working correctly in the beta.
There are also a new type of whiners who thought it either play differently than it does or wants it to be closer to WoW. Who whines.
So far my two biggest issues have both been fixed. Chatbubbles, and the ability to bind skills using modifier keys. Now only a toggle walk intead of a keep key pressed walk...
After that it's just general ballance issues left, and those are of a different nature.

Apparently it's possible to hit level 80 by just maxing out crafting prof's.

People whine about anything in games that isn't "perfect" nowadays, so I try not to pay it too much mind until I get to try it myself.
So far I think it looks very promising.

I'm definitely siding with this for now. I'm going to work this summer for a new PC and will buy GW2 along with it.
It's just sucky that I cannot try out some classes in beta yet. It'd be grand to know the class I love most before release and focus on that. O well.
Thanks for all the answers, all.

Playing the classes hasn't helped me. I love all of them for different reasons.
I think warrior so far, but still plenty of tinkering to do.

Re: Guild Wars 2
You'll be surprised with the classes you actually come to like.
You may have a class in mind that suits you but you may find something else suits you better.
For example, before the first beta I was like "Ooooo Yeah Thief is so me."
Played the first day of the first beta and thought Mesmer was great but I personally got bored of it really quickly (the staff was the only really decent weapon for them IMO).
By the second day played Engineer, Ranger, Elementalist and Thief (finally)....fell instantly in love with Ranger :3
Just played that until the end of that beta.
I basically I went in really wanting to play thief and came out not liking it so much.
Now, on the second beta (the one that just passed) I wanted to try out more classes.
(But I couldn't help but continue on with my ranger a bit more)
Anyway, I played Guardian, Necromancer and went in depth with Engineer.
Engineer I thought were pretty fun but I soon discovered Necromancer.....
Awwww man, did I hate Guardian. IMO it is by far the worst class. Without constantly playing with people you are absolutely useless. And even then.... anyway.
So yeah, basically you'll surprise yourself.
Ps: This little wall of text may seem like I dislike the game, this isn't true. I love it

Well, I love mesmer (Wand/focus is very potent for PvP, incidentally), but playing warrior made me love it. Still want to try necro, though.

I do fairly well on my own, tbh. Which weapons did you try, because I generally found that anything two-handed is vastly inferior (2h sword in PvE the exception) to most of the 1/Hand + off combos.Arabella Greene wrote:Awwww man, did I hate Guardian. And yes, Guardian is absolutely fine. You're slow, but you can pretty much fight anything in PvE without dying if you use a shield. And I did love being able to just run past people 3 levels higher than me and save them from 6 mobs before running off again to solo as many.
