Star Wars: The Old Republic

Greetings mortals.
Wasn't sure where else to stick this so I thought I'd post here to let you know that there's been some co-ordination with regards to RP in Star Wars The Old Republic. Many guilds/former players of WoW are planning to roll together on the same RP-PVP server in SWTOR.
If you're interested in doing the same and creating a community of familiar players in SWTOR, keep an eye on this thread and I'll let you know which server they've selected when early access begins. (Original thread here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=584236 )

I played in beta since summer, game has come such a long way since then. Me and Shrika will be playing Empire, and a few others that I know of!

It seems as if the original co-ordination thread on the SWTOR forum has exploded due to the forum being wiped in preparation for launch... rofl. OH well.

If I play it I'll only play it for the story of some of the classes. After that I think I 'll quit.
Burnt out on standard Hotkey MMO with standard targeting. Having a single player story doesn't add to it.
If I'm cheap I'll just watch everything on youtube.

Story ain't that great tbh, compared to other Bioware stuff. They made a lot of concessions to make the game still feel like an mmo. The combined playtime of all story quests combined is probably only like 10 hours at most. Some of the side quests are cool as well though, killing children on Balmorra ftw. +100 darkside points.
But if you don't like MMO's anymore
SWTOR won't appeal, its still very much an mmo.

I love MMOs.
I'm just tired of the mainstream MMORPG style of play with it being targeted hotkey MMOs. Started with EQ, made popular with WoW, then gotten lots of others. AoC (To a degree), Rift, Aion and more and more. Finally SW:TOR, they just had more story telling tagged on.
Guild Wars 2 on the other hand... Mmmm they seem to take the hotkey system and (for MMOS) innovate it more towards other types of games. Since in many modern games, if you swing a sword in a wide arc you'll hit everyone it passes through, not just your "target".
As for the story. Every story I know of (haven't played Knights of the old republic due to this) that sets Pree the Revolution VS the Empire (Aka SW Ep IV to VI) is rather lame and not that good.

If you're looking to get on the same server as folks, http://www.swtor-rp.com is a good place for coordination. While there is no EU RP-PvP coordination there, there is one for an EU RP-PvE mega server. Seen a couple DB folks over there already who are planning on possibly rolling on the RP-PvE one, since that's where all the EU RPers will be.

SWTOR servers only support about 2500 players. Won't be any "mega servers" really unless you want to put up with 30 minute+ queues
I can't bring myself to play on PVE, seems lore breaking to me that you wouldn't fight the enemy.

A couple hundred RPers rolling on the same server is not going to fill that server to cap.

I was theorising that people on the swtor forum/swtor-rp forum would start to actively corral people from other servers into one server and it ended up becoming some sorta unspoken rule that if you wanted to RP you had to go onto "X Server", since other servers were unpopulated, like I've seen in some other games, and even WoW tbh.
Defias is the only populated RPPVP server left in WoW.
