I'm not 100% convinced that /local actualy covers the whole zone, despite what guildwars2wiki says. It was way to bloody silent in the chat for that.
Any thanks or instructions from players I read, I could find around me.

They will, Fara. Petrified Forest for EU, Tarnished Coast NA, it's been like that since about a day after the list of servers was announced.

Kristeas, by whole zone, I suspect it means sub-area. If you look at Queensdale, for example, Shaemoor is an area of it. I imagine by zone it means, for example, Shaemoor.

We’ll be conducting a stress test on Monday May 14 from 11 AM to 6:00 PM PDT (-7 GMT).

This special test event is open only to Pre-Purchase customers who have registered their accounts. With your help, we can conduct important tests and address some of the issues we identified during our first Beta Weekend Event. During this event, all you need to do is play normally with a new or existing character on your Beta account using the same game client. Please note that since this is a stress test of our servers, you may experience some in-game performance issues. That's irrelevant, people who havn't pre-ordered and who will buy it on release will play on a work day. The servers or the support shouldn't be less active just because it's a weekday. Less people will play during weekdays, yes. Arenanet should focus on how to make their own servers better during the peak of the weeks (friday or saturday for example). Where's the logic on testing on a day where they know people wont be able to play as much as they want? The logic I don't see is; Monday is the first day of the week and first day where kids go to school and adults to work. The day after is no diffrent. On Tuesday, I for one, have to go up just like any other weekday. Why place the test on a monday --> tuesday when they KNOW people wont be able to play as much as they would be able to during weekends?

I guess it's also just me being pissed off because I have thursday + friday off that same week.

To be fair, the stress test will be crap. It was laggy enough before, it will be horrendous on Monday. I probably won't even touch it until release / other starting zones.

/local is like the General chat, only on a smaller scale. You can hear other people on a larger range than /say in WoW, but not over an entire zone. I don't see the logic in that. Incase they don't put in a /say, Im wondering how the fuck RPing will be.

Walking is implemented. There's no button bound to it though, so you have to do it yourself. However, you have to manually hold on the walk button to actually walk. You can't toggle it.
