Another week, another comic:

Yeah, I was getting rather tired of the library, so we're back to the Drunken Crusader.
Not that a dry martini is THAT pretentious, but in the RP-World of Warcraft people usually think you're stuck up if you order a glass of wine.

Right. You know what time it is, warlock fans!

I always try to make a script for the comics at least a few days before I make them, gives me some time to think things over. Sometimes the scripts are fairly advanced, the most important strips have likely been planned months ahead, often with a small sketch and the dialogue written beforehand. This one, however, just said "Orthur enters. Something funny happens at the bar - don't screw it up", which led to tonights strip.

10 points to Lexgrad who managed to quite accurately guess the current turn of events!

Ah, Pagfip. Back in 2005 when I began to play WoW, as a warlock of course, I actually had no idea the warlock was a pet class. I was quite happy to see this little guy, Pagfip is actually a quite nice name for an imp in my opinion, my succubus was named Bronnys and my fell hound Fuzzumon, I can't recall what my voidwalker was named though...
I do hope that most of you get the Rolling Stones references, if you don't you should at least feel somewhat ashamed of yourselves, or not, that's up to you.
Oh, and in panel 1 you can see the owner and proprietor of the Drunken Crusade. For the time being his name is "Generic Barkeep guy".

"I'm broke and I'm foul as fuck." gets me laughing like hell for some reason. Aware of its own issues and not trying to hide them, I really like that.

Re: Requiem of a Warlock
As some of you may have noticed my activity in WoW have been rather non-existent the last few weeks, I'm moving in to a new apartment with my girlfriend which eats a lot of time. Also the holidays are not the most pleasant time to be working with advertisement. So you might not see me for a while in the World of Warcraft. I'll still try to update the comic as usual though. That is, if you guys are still willing to read them ^^.

111? That's something, right? At the very least the age of Bilbo when he left the Shire in the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring.
Anyway, the imp's dialogue was rather fun to write makes for an interesting contrast with the Barons polite and usually detached speech pattern.

Sometimes, it's quite nice to have a bro with you. Oh, and this is one of the longest so far.
I also have a special treat, only for you - my readers on the defiasrp-forum. I offer you an exclusive sneak peak on the new comic art and layout, now keep in mind that nothing is final yet, but I'm starting to get quite satisfied with what I've got so far:

I was going to write a rather lengthy explanation about it, but it's late, and I'm tired. So you have to make do with the Baron and Kathless showing it for now.

It was difficult, at times, to roleplay a guild with a preestablished structure and an in game leader. High Lord Tirion is the master of the Argent Crusade, but since Cataclysm he doesn't actually do anything. Well, apart from standing in the Hearthglen throne room and shouting out some motivational phrases to bypassers.
Of course, back in the day we all got our orders from Eloresh, but he in turn (as the IC explanation was) got them from Tirion. Their meetings must have been somewhat... Awkward...

Unfortunately, considering the nature of online roleplaying, it happens every once in a while that people you've played with simply vanish. Some quit, some simply join other guilds. Nothing wierd with it, OOCly, that is. In character, it's quite strange considering that the vows for the Argent Crusade made you a crusader for life. Simrael and Caroline was some of the Baron's closest friends, which made their sudden and surprising departure quite... difficult, to react two. It is in fact the reason why the two of them are barley in the comic, since it would be strange to present two major characters only to have them vanish out of thin air.
Oh! And next week, I'll be making my return to World of Warcraft. Dip my feet into the waters a bit before MoP is released. What's the RP scene like? What guilds and characters are still around? And is there any guild who would welcome a tired ex-warlock?
After catching up on something I thought had ended for good many months ago... And hearing that you've returned, makes me think of the time in the crusade. And not only will I consider bringing Arathoran back to DB, and seek you out for old times sake, I myself don't have that much time to RP, so perhaps we can make it a few shots.

Re: Requiem of a Warlock
Nice to hear from you Arathoran, glad you took the time to read through them ^^. Actually I'm a bit surprised I've kept it going all this time, seems that every time I consider quitting someone comes along and changes my mind. I'm not online that much nowadays either, but I'd very much like to get the band together, if only for one or two times.
Anyway, here's the next one:

I wanted Safyia's movements to seem unnatural in this one, like a puppet on strings, not sure if I succeeded or not, but I have to say that I completely nailed Orthur's expression in the last panel.
Also, as I told you I am moving to a new apartment this weekend. As a consequence I may be without internet for a week or two, rest assured that comics will still be made, but updates may be a bit irregular since I'll have to upload them at work instead of at home. I'll still maintain my one comic a week schedule though, it's just that you might not see them on Tuesday evenings the next few weeks.
