It's the reason why the "Right" in this country are praying on people's fears in certain areas. Failures on a massive scale by political parties (not just the incumbent Government) to actually make a lasting impact/contact with people ("middle class", "working class" whatever). That and yes I am not so naive as not realise that some is because of some actions of some people, in some religions/countries (because, as we all know "every Muslim is a terrorist, and every Jew eats babies, right?).

Fear and ignorance. Powerful tools when coupled with lack of awareness and a blinkered view of the world and your surroundings.
