[A-H EVENT] The Blade of Compassion

This event is made by both, The Cult of Shadow and Legacy of Dawn, for the entire Server (make a special mention to Mervyn for bringing up such idea to work together in).
The entire plot of this event will be developed arround an item. The blade of Compassion.
This blade was once a sword forged to fight with and for the Holy Light, but now corrupted, it has turned into a bastion of darkness and shadow. The Forsaken, through The Cult of Shadow, now seek as one of their primary goals find such item to add to their already powerful arsenal. And those that stand against them, find only but keep it away from their grasp.
The plot will develop itself, and eventually, the sword will be found, taken away from the Forsaken, and shattered into different pieces. It is for this reason that we wish to count with the people of this server to participate. The blade will be broken into lots of shards, and the objective of those in the Alliance, will be to hide each and every single one of them away from the reach of the Forsaken, who will by all means try to recapture them all and reforge the blade. There are already several people / groups we wish to get in contact with. All of them will be approached ICly, there is no doubt, but it was clearly pointed that in order to make things easier ICly, it would be smart to post something OOCly to get peoples interest.
This event has no fixed date in which it would end, not even the way it would. The shards will be hopefully taken to distant and remote places and people to hide them away from the Forsaken reach, creating good RP situations of protection / hunt of the pieces of the blade. Depending on how the situation develops itself, the item could be reforged back and into the hands of the Forsaken, or it could be succesfully hidden and protected against their evil grasp.
I believe there is no need to say how much RP can this create by itself for everyone. I can give many examples to anyone who shows interest in this post, absolutely no one is excluded to take part in this. He or she just has to come in contact with either Mervyn or me. This post will be updated regularly to show how the situation in itself develops. Expect new information soon.

The boasts of an over proud Alliance soldier as he stood, still chained to the walls of the Undercity.
“Lordaeron will be free and your vile filth will be slain, the light will prevail”
A small smirk emerged on Mervyns face, of course not so the soldier could see. Three days had passed since the soldier was brought into the cells, three days since the High inquisitor was ordered to get information out of him, and three days the High inquisitor had stood in the cell not speaking a word, merely staring blankly at the wall unflinching, unmoving.
“And when Lordaeron is back in the hands of its people, I shall see to it personally that you burn, and I will make you scream! It’s the will of the light that your evil and darkness to quelled”
And of course, Three days this alliance zealot had been screaming about the retaking of Lordaeron, and three days Mervyn had to stop himself from laughing as the soldier was gowned in a tabard of Stormwind, carrying a sword forged by dwarves and a weighed down by the face of a boy barely past sixteen.
“Futhermor-“
Mervyn raises his finger to his lips, and pushes out a gentle “shhh” making the cell fall deadly still, the screams of a zealous child cease and melt away despite their calls being harped on for three days almost without rest and an eerie chill shudder up the spine of the captured soldier. A chill that as soon as it had passed reappeared like a mugger in the nights streets, as the head of the Forsaken turned and stared directly at the boys face, his black eyes unblinking and his neck and head cracking from not moving for such a lengthy period of time. Mervyn took in a breath from his mouth to speak
“Tell me boy, what is your name” Queried the Forsaken
“I shall tell you nothing, Filth!” The boy utters in a defiant response
“Indeed you shall not, for you boy are cheap…You are the same as all your kin, your blinded like sheep to the truth of it all” The Forsaken says in return
“What truth? Of how you have stolen Lordaeron from it are rightful owners? How you have slaughtered hundreds of innocents?! You are abominations, who should be washed from the face of this world!” The boy’s defiance still unquestionable
“Then tell me another thing boy, who are these “rightful” owners of Lordaeron” said the high inquisitor with a sinister quaff
“People like me! My father was a paladin, a right honourable man, greater than anything you will ever aspire too!” The boy proclaimed proudly
“And that is why you have come to these lands? To do right by your dead paladin father?” The high inquisitor raised his tone “WELL BOY?! What was his name if he is so great and valiant and fell before the scourge none the less!”
The boys face relaxed from being shouted at, his lips wavered and in a much less defiant tone he uttered the worlds “Sage Truthbearer”
An eerie shiver shot up Mervyns spine
“So…Boy, what do you wish to do for your dead father? Regain his lost honour?!” Mervyn grins wickedly
“I shall tell you nothing filt-“ Before his last words could be uttered, Mervyn drives a dagger into the soft belly of the boy, bringing his eyes to his eyes, and staring deeply within’
“I’ll ask again…Why are you here boy?” The Forsaken hissed
“Gahhhh” The boy cried in pain “I’m here to…to reclaim my fathers blade…It’s a weapon of truth…Of light!”
“And does this blade have a name?”
“It’s…It’s…Called the blade of Compassion…After the virtue! Please…Please release me” The boy begged
Mervyn twisted the blade with a sadistic grin on his face
“Where is it?” Mervyn leaned in, the blade sliding deeper into the boys stomach
“Ahhhhggghhh! It’s buried in Alterac…Near…Near Strahnbrad…Please let me go” The boy cried for mercy
“Who else knows of this boy?! Who else!” Mervyn barked
“A knight…A knight of the argent crusade…or was…I don’t remember his name I swear, please…Please release me!” Tears filled the boy’s eyes, and began to trickle slowly down his cheek
Mervyn leant into the boys ear “Good, and now I shall grant upon you compassion”
Mervyn jerked the blade out of his belly, and quickly whipped it up slicing the boys throat, spraying blood all around the cell as the boys body jerked and tossed in his binds, the light in his eyes slowly extinguishing.
“Ahhhh…” Mervyn sighs “To Alterac we go”

The Blade of Compassion, a blade of deliverance and aid to those in the most troubled times, which in the present world we live seems to be every day! However the blade itself is nothing much to look at, it possesses no dragon flame inducing spells enchanted sneakily into it’s metal, nor does it summon a host of angels to do the will of blades wielder, indeed, to gaze upon the blade itself, you wouldn’t see anything that would strike fear into the hearts of man any more than a regular blade.
However, one thing to be noted and seen is the markings, etched on the opposite sides of the hilt of the blade the sentences “Compassion through aid” and “compassion through deliverance”. It is through these markings that the blade takes it’s name, compassion being one of the virtues of light, and so was the blade of light. When it was first forged placed in the hands of Sage Truthbearer, a paladin of the Silverhand and as zealous of a fool as the others, stead fast in his belief and the teachings of the holy light he wielded the blade and with it joined Lord Uther in his quest to defend the urn of a fallen king, and for a time the blade did just that, until the day that the fallen prince Arthas came to reclaim the ashes of his father with intention of pissing on them! Or so Lord Uther would say, and the blade and its master fell to the admittedly much stronger foe of fallen prince.
Many ask themselves since however, just what makes the blade so special, why the Cult of forgotten shadow invests such a high interest in a seemingly forgotten blade of a forgotten paladin. However it is what the blade represents that makes it of such vested interest, as it represents a physical manifestation of the virtue of compassion. Compassion the virtue of light, but also the virtue of shadow…How the blade fell sway to the calls of the Forgotten shadow, and became service to it’s will are unknown, but what is known is that the Forsaken seek it, but in hushed tones so not to draw attention. It has merely been spoken in whispers, from the prophets and Shadowpopes, and cultists over the years Prophet Antistia told us a tale of a Forsaken, who needed vengeance. His foe was strong and clever, yet the Forsaken's will for blood was strong enough to ignore it. On his way he encountered a priest, who talked him into delaying the revenge The Forsaken stayed as the priest's disciple and learned the ways of the Shadow.
After a time the priest deemed him ready and gave him the Blade of Compassion. The Forsaken left into the blizzards of Alterac with the blade... and never returned from his task.
Although that is far from the true tale, and merely something spun by prophets and preachers intended to be ravelled in metaphor and mystery to inspire and engage the listening audience, hanging on the every word of the holy man. It is through these exact same vestments that the blade works. Not through instilling the wielder with the strength of an ox, or a hundred tauren! But through faith. To see a true item of the forgotten shadow, it’s power brought into the world and to be held in the hands of a Forsaken would surely make the faith and belief in the Forgotten shadow spread, and give the followers a true fanatical belief that they were right, and they could triumph over the Light and that all followers of its religion should, and would, be cut down in a merciless campaign of fanatical followers of a once broken people who would be blinded by nothing but their zeal in killing those who they feel betrayed them in the name of something far greater than any mortal, for a new faith that could envelop the entire Forsaken nation, and with the blade give truth to those that doubted and rally the masses under one banner, the Forsaken banner and the banner of the Forgotten Shadow…Of course the Cult knows this, and will stop at nothing to see the blade in their hands and there is no telling what an object defiled, and born anew in a power such as the Forgotten shadow, which is beyond comprehension, would be able to do in the hands of the faithful. And hopefully, the world shall never know.

We don't believe in magical mumbojumbo too much, but if there is a change to benefit from this in a way or another that's what counts.

I don't see any amphibious vehicles in your arsenal, -pirate. Going to carry in dingies as infantry-shields!? Hah! We Goblins pack some of the heaviest fire-power, especially us of the Company. Besides, who mentioned a frontline? This operation sounds more and more like the perfect job for incursionists! And, yes, we -might- just bring in a Leman Russ(Re-edited as a H.E.-man Cruzz).. No promises though.

Also, competition is good, especially for the customer. Product-developing receives a kick! I hope you oldtimers and Trikeers can keep up!

You underestimate us! Morinth makes highly effective explosives, and unlike you Goblins, the fuse timers don't vary. And who said anything about SEA pirates? We drop in by whatever means we see fit! One day, we're decimating yer harbour via the sea! But the day after that, we're dropping into Stormwind from the sky! Then there was that time we came up through a mine.

I hand you that, that's really some innovative idea. Airborne Pirates? Although I'm pretty sure the Alliance is equipped with FlaK-cannons... Best of luck though, I assume our Forsaken Allies would appreciate effort from all of us. We're just bringing the sneakiest and most hard-hittin' material in the book!
