Disclaimer: We're well aware there was a recent thread in the public section regarding the use of the slaughtered lamb. We intend to discuss matters with the person starting that thread, but unfortunately aren't able to cease the plans we had in motion. Shit'll go down, yo.

ooc disclaimer: This menu will be updated steadily as we regather stock and assess what we currently have. Prices are fixed to allow us to purchase more drinks, so that everything isn't purchased out of the pockets of the guild members.

Important: We will be exercising a policy where by you can face no charge by simply not receiving the items in question. If you want to simply emote the exchange of booze and money, we're quite happy to do that. Simply whisper the member of staff you've approached to let them know you'd rather emote

The OOC bit: Howdy folks! So, we decided to go ahead and take up residence in the slaughtered lamb for the time being. The remaining few members of the OTS have been getting quite a bit of pressure thrown at them to find a place for the blade and bring it back. So, after a lot of debate and several delightful conversations regarding taverns and the like, we just went ahead and sat our arses down in the lamb.

I'll be updating this thread over the next few days, once I've had conversations with the people I have about opening days and such, you'll find those days posted in this thread soon enough. I'll also edit in an exact list of beverages and their prices, as well as the events we plan to hold. You'll see the famous costume nights and other lovely ideas coming through in time, that's a promise.

We'll be opening up right after the council meeting tomorrow, and then we can get a feel for the place and start organising ourselves a little better. Please bare in mind that despite the fact the staff of the blade will be under the OTS guild tag, we have no plans to bring the guild back in terms of criminal activity, at least it is not part our of current plans.

Information regarding recruitment

As I said above, we will not be recruiting for <The Old Town Syndicate> for now. This is not part of our current plan, we simply want to bring 'The Blade' back with the hopes of reinvigorating the tavern RP scene to what it once was.

This does of course mean that we will be recruiting into the OTS, members of the community that wish to RP bar staff and bouncers alike. We may well come up with other roles that we can either hand out to current members, or recruit specifically for.

Those of you that remember the OTS, would remember that we had a fairly strict recruitment policy with regards to races that were eligible to join the guild. I've decided that while that recruitment policy would remain true if we were to ever fire up the criminal activity again, it does not really need to be in place for those that would want to staff the tavern. For now, we'll accept everyone that has a decent reason to actually want to join, but I would stress that Worgen in their form and Draenei will quite likely have a hard sell.

Sunday - Between 20:00 and 21:00 server time.

I understand that the Smoking Blade is not a DTF club night however, in view of the comment above perhaps copying the format of event/venue might not be a bad idea.

Not sure what you Europeans do but over here you'll often find clubs being called different things based upon which night of the week you go.

Rather than renaming the pub 'full time'. Tuesday night would be The Smoking Blade. Wednesday through Monday would be the Slaughtered Lamb?

This is pretty much my thinking, yes. Once my guildies and I have decided upon opening days, we'll post it up here. On those days only will the lamb become the blade. The reason it's being renamed, Deli, is because theres little point bringing back the smoking blade without the name. 'sides, it gives appeal to those on the server that can remember the blade in it's glory days, shall we say. I shouldn't think it'll be confusing

I think you're talking about having a night that is called the smoking blade, in a pub called the slaughtered lamb. That works, yes.

My main reason for objecting to a namechange is of practical nature. You just simpy can't actually change the name of the place, and people know what and where the lamb is. Its much more convenient to just roll with that.

And there's ofcourse the locks and catacombs underneath. What's the "Smoking Blade" stance on that? You can't make it go away, because it's simply there, so if you run the bar you somehow have to incorporate that into your RP.

Yeah don't worry, the building'll still be known as the Slaughtered Lamb in general

And I'd say the Blade folk have no knowledge of or interest in any warlocky activities going on in the crypts. If people want to do warlock RP there, do eet. Just don't parade through on Blade nights in black robes I guess?

And Fara, the Recluse just ended up being too complicated for now, but who knows what'll happen with pubs in the city in the future.

In general though, I'm really excited about this \o/

I am volunteering Deli for a barshift if you ever need one. If IC events could lead to that, ofcourse. But i would really enjoy playing a barshift

I love bartending too. XD I do it on my pirate. But she never gives you what you order. :O I guess that adds to her... 'charm'. People STILL buy stuff from her. The mind boggles.

The Smoking Blade was the actual name of a deleted burnt down tavern in the Dwarven District. Through the times it was open it was known as the Blade, and the patrons associated that name with Ledgic's guild as a front for nastiness and drinking. I think it's for that reason alone that they're pushing "The Smoking Blade" as the tavern name, because of its legacy. The location will be the Slaughtered Lamb, but for all intents and purposes the Blade is where Ledgic and a half-buttoned shirted Annie are.

Hell yeah! I have heard of the Legend. i want to see if the Legend is true!

Aren't your prices extremely off, lorewise? Other than that, I really liked the blades in the past. Hope it'll be just as fun again =)
