Re: Victoria 2
As for the newest PDM. Just where do you find the 1.4beta? I've looked for it on the forum and found nothing.

One should still set up a Multiplayer game at some point. Great times it would be.

Could be fun but I'd propably have to re-install everything again seeing as I like to tweak my own game files alot. I add small events or mod decisions etc.

It would be, yes! So, anyone have any tips as Sardinia-Piedmonte in PDM? It's been so long since I've involved myself in early Europe.

Started a game as the US this morning. THe first~5 years I found to be the easiest played so far. Getting Texas to become a state wasn't hard at all, and then get one tech and you've got US cores in lots of non US states.
Even if you start with almost no army it's a quite nice starting place.

Tbh those first years of the United States are very easy, you establish yourself etc. the real fun comes around 1880-1890 when I usually begin expanding my influence into places where the Europeans are busy. It's the point where you become a true world player in an already established world.

Re: Victoria 2
What kind of problem are you having with it?
Also USA is really really easy.
For S-Piedmont you can try 2 things, one remain as a high tier secondary power and in french sphere, in PDM there will eventually come a event in which you + the french fight Austria for lombardia and so on.
Or from the very start try to get a small transport fleet, keep good relations with french and start fighting as many humiliate wars as possible across africa, south-america and asia. Just fight humiliate wars for maxing prestige early on (your key to become great power) then once you hit GP start preparing for opportunity war with Austria (hope that they go to war with Prussia basicly) and snatch Lombardia. Get the rest of the italians to your Sphere and boom, done.

The game keeps crashing (CTD) after the initial loading screen, never makes it to the menue.
Dunno if I've installed something wrong with the patches or what
Edit: Specifically at the "Loading database" stage.

It shouldn't be too hard, try to secure an alliance with france (SOI shall come soon TM).
Meanwhile, get the north african countries as soon as you can, not egypt- the other ones, try to hit them before others do, afterwards you can head on to egpyt, by the time you are at egypt you shall become a GP.
Start influence war with France and Austria, keep your relationship with france high while taking more lands from Egpyt, once you have all the states or one less declare war on Austria for the land you need to unite Italy, if you still lack one country which is under their SOI but you fear the infamy, add it to the demands when you are certain you can get it out of them, and kick in the decision where you cede territories to france right afterwards. You are now Italy.
Build up a good navy so that you can close the medetireian in case of a war with Britian or anyone else who's main forces are not bordering you, and have fun conquering the rest- I suggest eating Austria and Ottoman empire before moving to the French.
