Get rid of RP guilds!

NonRPers should leave the server, all off them

I strongly disagree with this. Till a "non rper" don't annoy anyone by beeing OOC or so, there is no reason to not welcome him. Also, some of the "non rper" role play time to time along organised events.

Against the argument "why a non rper join a rp realm if he doesn't want to rp as main interest". Well, some people join a server to be with their friends. This is a good reason in my eyes. Some player maybe enjoy to rp rarely, but still enjoy it. This is a good reason enough for me aswell.

And sometimes a RPer even, is not in the mood of role play.

That's why an addon like FLag RSP should be included in the game. I myself use it mainly for the plasure or beeing able to tag myself "OOC" or "IC" or "Looking for contact". This add on really help a lot !

This "Non-RPers" should leave the realm is a retarded thing to say, I could go on a pvp server and tell everyone "Non-PVPers should gtfo of the realm"

Elloa, I am in no way saying people SHOULD always RP. I'm saying if they roll on an RP server, they should be RPers in my opinion, because it's the rules. The current amount of OOCers. (10x's as much as RPers) really REALLY ruin immersion on SO SO many points. Imagine the epicenss and epic scale things if we had 10x's the ammount of RPers? There's like.. 3 RP-PvP servers, what if all the OOCers just went to a PvP server, and the RP-PvP servers, with all RPers in it merged and you had an RP-PvP server with RPers only. THAT would be epic and awesome.

Instead there are SO SO SO much more OOCers on RP realms that it's annoying, OOCers should just go to their OOC realms and let RPers on their RP realms.

I'm not saying everyone should RP 24/7, since I sure don't either, but it'd be better if everyone was a RPer atleast and not a guy named "DKGoku5" talking Swedish with his OOC-guild buddies on every corner.

Still, if the server only consisted of RPers, it'd screw up several aspects of actually playing the game. I most likely couldn't log on at 19:00 and almost instantly find myself a pug raid for ICC or something. I'd probably have a hard time to get a guild for raiding, too.

I don't want to have to separate my characters between RP and PvP/PvE, but if there were no OOCers on DB, I'd have to.

You have a point. But I'm sure all those RPers would be as interested in PvE and PvP as you are.

I somewhat agree with the sentiment that if everyone on an RP server was actually an RPer, then the RP enviroment would be much more immersive and satisfying. I also have to question the mindset behind someone coming to an RP server when they have no interest in RP what-so-ever.

How much PvP and PvE would suffer though, is to me a question of 'how much RP does one need to do to be classed as an RPer'? If you didn't want people who were very casual RPers as they prefered other aspects of the game, but still liked to play in an RP enviroment*, then I'd imagine other aspects of the server would suffer horribly. If you just got rid of people who have no interest in RP at all, PvE/P would be in a much worse condition, but I suspect it would still be accessable. I would settle for simply kicking OOCers who actively disturb RP and immersion out of the door.

Going off on a slight tangent: When I played EverQuest, I had a character on Fironia Vie, the sole RP server. Granted, the population was much smaller, and the RP server had a few very different rules (in terms of game mechanics) to other servers which were probably a turn off to some (though attacted others), but it was pretty rare to come across people who didn't RP there, and OOCers and people who broke their naming policy could get their toon deleted.

Fironia Vie was the best MMO RP server I ever played on - but EQ was a pretty suck game. It is the whole package - the RP, the PvP and the PvE - that makes Defias such a more fun place to be. If Defias wasn't a WoW RP server, I'd much rather be RPing in a place where RP is king and there isn't a great lure to attact people who did not want to be there for RP.

If RP is all you are interested in, and think RP is all other people should be (prmarily) interested in, there are places outside of WoW which could probably suit your needs better.

*We all know that a 'normal' server simply doesn't support RP as a playstyle, even in very limited amounts, unless you have a decicated group for it perhaps. Even then, good luck with OOCers!

I've seen this reality, it's full of egos and NON STOP drama. At least our drama is broken up.. This stuff is.. COnstant. If everyone just rped we'd all be level 1 peasants..

That would be an ideal situation worth striving for, yet unachievable due to various reasons I can't be arsed to sum up.

Nah thanks. Ever occured that private servers attract a different kind of people? Not to mention that's its just not fair to say role-players have more drama than OOCers, since that's just not true.

What is true, is that we have a different kind of drama than them. EDIT: and why do you think that is? Because our aspect of the game is based on human interaction more than merely PvE and PvP.

None of that was the question. It was what would a server of only rpers be like. Dramaful. us times alot more.

You didn't ask me a question. I responded to your claim that I should go play on a RP private server and observe the drama. But let's not digress.

A server full of RPers is an unachieveable feat and also, observe Stormwind Cathedral for 10 minutes, take that drama and people arguing, and apply it everywhere.

See my comment about Fironia Fie on EQ - a server full of roleplayers. So it is possible, if there are rules (which are actually enforced ) which cater to RPers over those who have no interest. Sadly for WoW, this boat probably sailed long ago, but I still have hope that someone will create that kind of RP enviroment in an MMO once again.

I'm not aware of of much drama happening on FV, but then again, I wasn't really involved in any cliques, which seems to be the problem from which drama arises on Defias as far as I can surmise. If people could learn a little tolerence and mutual respect, drama might not be so big an issue. But once again, this is probably endemic in WoW.

To draw yet another comparison, there are many MUSHes about (text based Multi User Shared Hallucinations, for the young 'uns :> ) where all the people playing are doing so for the RP, as that's basically all there is to do! On those I have played, there was never a scrap of drama, and the RP was AAA quality.

Reading all yo points I'm changing my opinion. You're right. OOCers aren't that bad and are good for the realm.

I can sorta imagine a everynoe-is-an-RPer realm now.. multiply drama 10x!
