Currently alternating between LoL, WoW, and Civ V. Screw you Aztecs stop taking Cologne that's my harbour city D:
I'm struggling for my life against the Persians, I went to war with them to ensure the continued survival of the city state of Dublin as I believed it, and Singapore, were paramount to keeping the Persians from invading me (they formed an awesome buffer and Dublin actually had a big military, not as big as the Persians' or mine but it was big)... Dublin still stands, its army having been reduced to a shadow of its former self, the troops I had sent to defend Dublin have pretty much been annihilated, what remains has retreated to my nearby city of Atlanta to prepare a desperate defense there.. Half my navy (1 ship ) got sunk near the Persian coast.. I'm trying to churn out reinforcements for the defense of Atlanta before the Persians get there in sizeable numbers though I think I will be too late.
All in all, I'm greatly enjoying my first serious attempt at Civ 5.. If only I had the money to purchase some troops quickly
Persians are beasts in early ages until their immortals grow obsolete. From then on it should be business as usual as long as you manage to stay ahead on the techcurve. Focus on other fronts in the meantime. (That is, unless your civ has an early-era unit to counter theirs)

Re: The "other game thread"
Unfortunately I can hardly play on multiplayer, because everytime I disconnect (which happen quiet often), I lose my web connection and I've to restart my computer. When it happen like every 10 minutes, it start to get seriously annoying, and then I prefer to work on my solo game.
I've a super awsome dungeon ! Ooh yesssss ! In both my friends server and my own...But I build small ...I must have been an elf in another life...a night elf of course, cause I work a lot on the landscape and I try to mix landscape element with my construction, so I end up with natural wood, glass and dirt, and waterfall of course, and trees to make a very lighty top of dungeon inside a hill or something :p
I also like to make grow forest. I'll try one day to build a village in giant trees.
Well, this game is just amazing ! Exactly the kind of game I can spent my life on !! Good that I've not much to od in WOW at the moment ! hahaha
@Saevir : This look like gigantisk creations !!! O.o

I'm loving New Vegas. I was skeptical it would be a glorified Fallout 3 expansion, and yyeeesss for all intents and purposes it 'is' but there is so much more to do than in Fallout 3, I love it.

Re: The "other game thread"
My present obsession besides StarCraft II is League of Legends (LoL indeed).
It's basically an advanced DotA clone, but since I can't stand DotA (or the more DotA-like HoN) I was surprised at how much I enjoy this game. Maybe it just controls better, or maybe the persistent Summoner experience (that is, player exp) and massive selection of champions is what keeps it interesting, especially since new ones are added every month or so. The attention to detail, characterization and the fact it actually provides background lore is great - although some champions are not what you'd call balanced.
I play on the EU client as HellbirdIV, though that's a given.
This.

Aye, I've noticed the Persians being beasts in early ages, but as soon as I get past the early ages I tend to get bored to death by this game.. Everything just seems to grind to a halt.

I seem to have acquired Fallout: New Vegas.
Modded (there are a few I would say are absolute necessities) and on Hardmode it's great. It's hard. But great.
The companion AI is thick as shit though...

I'm playing it on normal mode and loving it!
Though I seem to have run afoul of the NCR and can't get past shunned.. If the NCR won't have me.. Then Caesar's Legion just might.

Re: The "other game thread"
One annoying thing for sure is that regardless of your faction affiliation (Caesar's Legion and the Powder Gangers don't much like me at the moment) if you nick their stuff, you lose Karma...
There are fixes, but they're a bit messy.
Edit: And whilst I'm on Hardcore, it isn't THAT hard really. Then again I'm just on Normal difficulty, but Hardcore Mode.
Some things in HM just make sense, I like the having to eat/drink thing. I have a portable campsite, and I feel like a true wanderer.
