- Spoiler:
- Could have been a watershed moment for gays in Westeros too! After the vile perversons of the others the common man would likely not care about a gay king. Provided he doesnt bugger a brother :p.
I called his death last week even before vagina gate. Down to a three horse race (and the Iron island thing is totally a fake that will end in winterhold being sieged.
oooo and my new favorite char is the rapey german dude! You saved us, so now others must die! Awesome!

- Spoiler:
- I loved Arya's new 'friend' the moment I saw him, his hair is amazing with the white through one side. Hope Gendry keeps on ticking, he's a new favourite of mine too. Arya telling him how to wield his blade made me giggle. She should be king.
As for Renley, he was getting too cocky. He was a good character, but I knew that creepy bitch would do something! I don't like her at all. I used to like Stannis until this bitch started having her way.
I like Brienne!

I'd certainly never thought Margaery Tyrell was fucking Ser Loras. She's a schemer, just like her Grandmother the Queen of Thorns. But not a brother-fucker, like Cersei. Who was fucking Lancel, her nephew. And her brother. But neither of those shag boys...

I always have great fun watching season 2 episodes at my friends place, me having read the books many times knowing everything and my friend going "OMG WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?!?"
The reactions are priceless, shame I can't enjoy the show as much as I did with the books

- 'Series':
Well, Go back to the attempted sex scene with Renly.
Firstly when asked if she's a virgin, she gives a lovingly evasive answer. Which to me, really makes it clear she is none.
Then she even offered to get Loras in their bed together for some threesome fun to get a kingly baby in her belly...
that was one fucked up scene with a lot of subtext.
- "feast and earlier books":
Cersei really hints that the two are banging each-other.
Tyrion scoffs at the idea though, since well Loras is more about guys
and then there's the fact that martin is a pervert.

Re: The Song of Ice and Fire - George R.R. Martin
Your last part, is very true.
And, to be fair, I'm re-remembering things and re-checking things because of the series all the time. My reading of the books isn't yours, so I am sure I read things differently. Or didn't read them. I'm fallible. Almost.
- Spoiler:
- The others, well...
Series: Fucked up, yes. But this is Westeros. Whilst fucking someone while they bugger your sibling isn't what most of us would consider normal... she really wants to be THE Queen. Westeros, again...
But I do think its her simply scheming (I think she was a bit TOO scheming tbh). Maybe all to flesh her out a bit, she isn't the strongest character in this book, yet much more so in the series.
And what the hell was that bloody gaudy blue Star Trek Taco she was wearing?!...
Books:
Cersei comes out with almost anything as she slips further into drink, power, and paranoia. Whilst Tyrion seldom reads people wrongly (though has his moments of naivity).

Re: The Song of Ice and Fire - George R.R. Martin
The reason she is so prominent in the series is because of the actress. She is known for her role as Anne Boleyn in the Tudors (also made by HBO - and hence the weird tudor like clothing! They know it looks good on her). As a result of this, she will be given a much bigger part to play because of such a good actress she is and because HBO trust her. Also, she is extremely gorgeous so I'm not complaining!grufftoof wrote:Your last part, is very true.

Oh my god hahahaha!!! That's so true :p I felt like it looked very out of place and ya, she is a bit of a boring character but I wonder how she'll turn out as the series pans out hmm

Gruff:
- "books and series":
Oh I agree with you that she's a conniving scheming little wench! No doubt about that, but in the books Cersei isn't the only one that seriously doubts Margaery's virginity. That and the series has a tendency to put rumours to life with scenes, since rumours are really difficult to bring to the small screen well.
That said, even though the weird love-triangle sex thing the Tyrels and Renly were doing, If Renly agreed to it it would still be incest, regardless of the fact that it was mostly scheming on Marg's part.
and yes there's no proof that The knight of flowers, plucked his sister to create his cloak of roses, but It wouldn't surprise me one bit
I just really wish that bitch to bloody die. I don't like her xD

How the what now?!
I thought you wanted more of me. Not less.
I know about the actress (Natalie Dormer) and The Tudors - but it was Showtime, not HBO! And The Tudors was just about as terrible (historically, and some acting to be fair) as Anonymous (which is horribly, horribly shit). I don't like Dormer, which is annoying, because I do like Margaery, to some extent. Though she isn't a touch on her grandmother who could be a great character if brought to screen.
The TV show whilst lacking surprises (it's hard to be massively shocked when you know what to expect) is very good. I like to see how characters are realised, I like to see how the places are realised too.
The four kings (Baelon, Joffrey, Stannis and Robb) are all great in their own way as characters on screen. Joffrey captures perfectly just how much of a nasty, shitty, bratish little cunt I really think the incest-born shit stain really is.
And Arya, I think that's fantastic acting.
Though Littlefinger might be a bit too... moustachey. I dunno. Something about Ian Gillan's squirming face....

Re: The Song of Ice and Fire - George R.R. Martin
Showtime, HBO! Both pull from the same acting pool.
I love the added scenes they do, e.g the golden swan in the last episode. I honestly think every character is done brilliantly. My dream job would be to work on a series like GoT tbh, perfect television in my eyes.

And the Sopranos Band of Brothers, Boardwalk Empire, The Pacific, The Wire, Curb your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Conchords etc!
And Shae, you're one of the few people I've seen who has watched Oz. I keep trying to get my mates to go back and watch it.

Oz was fantastic. The list of HBO greats is indeed lengthy.
...
Yet they also made Sex and the City.

- Well, from the picturen I got, the rumors of... Margaery's... activities etc were more or less all spread out from Cercei in her jealousy. There was a question if she was a virgin or not from her wedding night. But the picture I got from the show was that it was more or less the ONLY night that M and R spent together. After he left with the army and in the books Margaery stays in Highgarden.
When once in Kingslanding Cercei spreads lots of rumours etc about M having Orgies for her to go away and give her Tommen back. More or less all of those were spread after T kills T. And After cercei goes fullblown Paranoia bitch. So personally I doubt Margaery has done much. SHe might have lost her virginity at her wedding night. But I doubt she's stupid enough to screw around.
She's not her grandmom scheming but she's not stupid. Screwing around in the capital would be Stupid.
As for the show. Still going greatly, even if some details around Renlys death, I don't really like.
The stabbing instead of cut throat, for example. And how Loras reacts.

- The Shadow itself was very good. And Breanne's reaction. The way they make her truly look like a mountain is nice camera work too.
The First of the North men didn't look how I imagined, that's one thing. I thought it was less exposed (or less frozen) and closer to the black and ebuuuuul forests.

It's only just dawned on me how good Joffrey's Actor is. He really captures just how much of an unlikeable, easily-hated inbred fuck Joffrey is.
On an unrelated note.

- Spoiler:
- About half way through Dreams and Dust, and I'm a bit confused why nobody balks at Rhaegar's Son (Young Griff) wanting to marry Daenerys. I know the Targaryens are into incest and all, but I find it a bit strange that -nobody- had any problems with the idea of him wedding his Aunt.

Aye, beyond the wall is not how I imagined it. Being a bit biased, I saw it as a kind of dark and brooding nordic forest, covered in snow

So did I. Or at least the area directly North of The Wall. Farther, much farther, I imagined ice and snow and stone (much like we saw in the show).
