There are good justifications for being xenophobic.

You live in a strong community with well-defined 'we'-group. Then a bunch of outsiders come in, who look very different from you, have believes and culture which at times contradicts your own, for instance.

As for the Chapter, we are conservative, we believe in sancrity of human Culture and human way of life, and we see that influx of non-humans is affecting it. There is a reason why the Chapter is ready to work together with the Dwarves: dwarves don't try to change things that much.

Gnomes question the basic pillars of everything with their reason which seems prone to heresy.

Night Elves appear to be numerous in Stormwind and engage eagerly in cross-racial relationships.

Draenei are very prominent in SW orders. The Chapter experiences it as a bit of a stab in the heart to see Draenei with guard-rights while the Chapter doesn't have those. THen the Draenei bring their view of the Light, their culture and are very prominently present.

But only 3-5 years of knowledge of Azeroth, let alone Stormwind affairs. And let alone a shadowpriest goes against everything humans stand for and believe in, its practically the same as a warlock under IC consideration.

Shadowpriests are fallen spat upon priests who've found their path into evil. http://www.wowwiki.com/Shadow_priest atleast it states undead are shadowpriests, that are evil.

The race thing isn't the issue I'd say, its the shadowpriest thing thats giving ya all the poop. And since Mandui is an open shadowpriest, people are gonna find that weird and reek the obvious corruption.

Many of the humans in Stormwind have even less knowledge about the city and its history than some foreigners, let alone its affairs on this specific realm. Apart from the pure knowledge factor, a person should have additional attributes, such as diplomacy and stoicism, since insults are launched on a daily base. If you look around Stormwind, you'll easily realize that most humans are far from stoic, get upset rather easily and answer the insults or other kind of attacks in the same manner (actually you'd only need a mirror to realize that xD).

As for the Shadow being evil, yes, it can very much be evil, depending on the wielder. It's a common misconception to believe that a shadow priest is like a warlock. The priest doesn't use fel magic, is not dependent on demons and will not require any sacrifices in form of lives in order to use any of his/her abilities. While the two classes are indeed quite similar, since they both use the shadow, they are far from the same.

I think the link you are looking for is http://www.wowwiki.com/Cult_of_Forgotten_Shadow . It describes the Shadow a bit better than merely a class and how much threat it generates

As a blood elf, I'll admit I don't have an up to date view on Stormwind politics, but why can't I help being reminded about his King-ly-ness Varian?

Umpty's been called a squid more times then I can remember. Yet, she does not care to much. She'd defend players who take offence at being discriminated though. In Umpty's opinion it's not really a crime, rather a reflection of simple-ness that doesn’t need punishment. Players who are into discrimination, set a trap for themselves and will fall into them eventually.
