Who do you think will win the World Cup?
Re: World Cup!
Fair Play is a part of the game. Ninja kicks are not...
Should be red card right away.
(Also, he should go help him instead of raising his hands "I didn't touch him at all!"

Re: World Cup!
We can speculate whatever we want on what should have been red, yellow, free kick, offside, penalty, etc.
But that doesn't change the fact that was one awesome ninja kick.

You just do not seem to comprehend that ninja kicks are universally awesome. But that's fine.

Re: World Cup!
I think that in the end it was fair that the Spanish won. Even if I wanted the Netherlands to get the win.
What I dislike was the one who scored. As I think he should have gotten a red card for all his acted dives he did. Bloody fucking Holywood wanna be.

And you better be taking the piss, he was the most enjoyable and solid player in the squad
De Jong is a nasty unsportive player, my fouvourite players were Bronckhorst, Kuyt and Van Stekelenburg. De Jong scores high on my least favourite players list. (Edit) Sure he solid however he made nasty fouls and didn't mind breaking any rules (or peoples bones) instead of focussing on using his skills.
Fun you should mention De Jong as a nasty unsporting player and then say that your favourite player was Bronckhorst
Stekelenburg has a nice "aura" about him, or feel even. So I'd say he's probably the most likable player on the team for me (But then again I play a goalie too )

I didn't see Bronckhorst do anything really unsportive like kicking someone hard. Maybe you saw something I didn't. I also ain't much of a football follower or fan usually, so I don' t know his entire carrier, but he made a good impression to me tho this this world cup, specially the last few matches. Anyway I just like Van Stekelenburg because he did a great job stepping into the gap Van de Sar left. He made a great debute as main goalie. If he keeps it up he will be a fantastic goalie just like Van de Sar.

Stekelenburg is even rumoured to be on his way to take over after Van Der Sar at Man utd.
And Bronckhorst did quite a nasty challenge from behind, without any consideration for the opposite players health. (Worthy of a red card.)

Didn't notice it. He usually is ok I think concidering fouls. Ah well bad Bronckhorst if he did. You can rest assured though. He is retiring. The final was his last match. Loved his goal against Uruguay.

Re: World Cup!
The ninja kick was blown way out of proportion. It probably did no damage at all since Xabi Alonso was straight back and jumping around looking all happy afterwards, and the ball was in the air so its his own fault for getting in the way.

Re: World Cup!
I am not surprised by the britons here being very negative of the Dutch team. I mean; I took a look at some of your newspapers (tabloids?) and with the rubbish that's being written, I am not surprised the reader takes over some of those opinions.
Yeah, Spanish players diving like they are in the olympic swimming team is fine. Or Puyol holding Robben around his waist as he breaks through the Spanish defense (which was worth more of a red card than Heitinga's foul). But when the Dutch players play aggresively (just slightly more aggresive than the Spanish team I might add) it's horrible and despicable and a lot of other -ble's; it's the bloody final after all, I'd be more upset if they did not take off their gloves.
Heck, I don't even know why I am trying to defend the Dutch team -- but I reckon it has to do with the the immense biased garbage that's being spewed. In short, I can say the best team won.
EDIT: as far as sportsmanship goes, the Dutch players congratulated the Spanish players shortly after the match, which is enough sportsmanship to me.

You expected any less from a tabloid newspaper?..

The first statement is an offensive pile of crap. Not only would I hope that any briton here is clever enough to make up their own opinion, not trawl out the shit pumped via the tabloid "press", I would also hope that no other poster would imagine that a group of posters would do that. I don't read the shit, unless as part of work for some voluntary stuff I do, I do read the papers. I have a mind, I can make up my own one.
If people don't see the tabloids for the shit that they are, then I actually pity them. But then, some people are stupid. And I'm not sure why I am even bothering arguing this point. It just makes me laugh, in a sad way, that you'd assume this.

What I have been reading he might have broken a rib. They are not sure yet it seems. Anyway it was a hard enough kick. However you put it was a stupid action of De Jong.

Re: World Cup!
I wouldn't put it past a broken rib or at least severe bruising.
Studs and a forceful tackle like that at that speed would even collapse a normal person's lung.
Adrenaline protected him from feeling too much pain, at least.

Actually you can jump around with a major injury after it's been inflicted; haven't you ever had a major injury before in sport? Adrenaline makes you feel very little pain until the Adrenaline vanishes...THEN you're left in agony.

Then don't question what you don't know
You're probably the type of person that believes Adrenaline comes from the brain or something
