Who do you think will win the World Cup?
Re: World Cup!
Spain might've lost, but they played magnificent.
England played below average. Unlucky with goalkeeper aswell.
Germany played below average, but also got a undeserved red card.
France lacks of motivated players.
Now! USA is a team that keeps surprising me

Germany got undeserved red card, played with 10 players, when the game was all against her. She could have got 1-1, though. They will come back, I am certain. England- Aint gonna take it.
France- Aint gonna take it.
Italy- aint gonna take it.
Spain- aint gonna take it.
All the big are tired (beside germany), gonna be something new this time.

I'd agree with Italy and France as the ones who won't make it far.
However, Spain played just awesome, too bad they weren't able to score. Pretty sure they will make it through, anyway.
Not sure about England.

A quote from BBC sums that match up: "Why scratch around for fine words when these will do. Utter rubbish from England."

Re: World Cup!
When it comes to the knock out stages teams like Algeria will get thrashed. So frustrating to watch 95% games were teams are sitting back playing defensively. One of the worst world cups Ive seen so far. England were awful mind lol

Wouldn't say it was all -that- bad per say. Sure, it could've been a lot better, but I do think a lot of the "lesser" countries are being underestimated a bit.

11 players behind the ball, pretty tough to break that down. Most of them are playing for draws and then going out to try and beat the teams they think they can. Which is fair enough but geez does it make most games boring as hell to watch. So for the teams that are considered the best every other country are going to frustrate them. Slovenia really went for it against the USA and Algeria, I wonder if they will do the same against England or will they go for the draw?
South Korea versus Argentina was a good game of football because both actually went for it.
Also Id like to point out both the teams I thought would do well (Holland and Argentina) have both won

Waheeeeyyyyy! Bit of a shitty fight though, despite the outcome. I had -way- to many heartattacks watching it. Let's see how we do on thursday against them Japs >.<

Re: World Cup!
Once again the teams that are the best on paper underperform to their expectations in WC :p What the tourny really does is it shows how much of the team's capacity is the manager's work. Many of the smaller countries have more time to prepare and manage to form a close-knit group that stands a fair chance against a more established nation with great stars but not as much preparation for the tournament. But I guess people will still expect England to win WC 2014, huh?
Also, I'm on the edge about if the coaches should be allowed to be foreign or not. On one hand it does give many of the smaller nations a better chance to perform well, but when so many teams end up having foreign coaches, it kinda beats the point of the WC, imo.

And then again, North Korea must replace it players. Another 11 missing players, I bet. No matter!

I would have loved to see South Africa go on through. It was great to see the way they went about and showed up on the screen, even when they weren't on the field itself. At least they had a certain passion for it. Shame, really.

Sadly enough, that brought memories of Andres Escobar's own goal in the 1994 WC.Rasonal Dranger wrote:And then again, North Korea must replace it players. Another 11 missing players, I bet. No matter!
