You nailed it (with the first point). The Z wrote:I'd enjoy using scenarios with Caverns of Time flavouring, like journeying with Rexxar as he did in the side-campaign of The Frozen Throne. Or a bunch of other WC3 related stuff...or hell, even WC2, if it had some. Of course you'd probably need to tie them over to current going-ons at least somehow, so it wouldn't be too much of a fan-servicing.
Anyway, this reminded me...I guess there already was a topic to discuss what you'd want to see in the next expansion? I'm trying to think if they can fit any new features into the engine anymore, but I'd guess it has started to show it's limits by now...well, except for the Dance Studio, I guess. GIVE US THE DANCE STUDIO ALREADY!1

Patch 5.4.2 - Karazhan Cleanup
You might have noticed the addition of a new phase, "Karazhan Restoration" in the latest PTR build. It is unclear what that phase will be used for, but the regular version of Karazhan has seen some cleanup in 5.4.2. Most of the spiderwebs, skeletons, and overturned chairs have been removed. All other signs of abandonment and age remain untouched.

I sincerely hope they don't revamp the old content there... would make me a sad Dwarf if so.

Why? It makes perfect sense when you think about it. Kharazan has a Lot to do with the Dark Portal due to Medhiv, it may have something to do with how Garrosh changes the Dark Portal.

I think he means that he wouldn't want to see all of the old content dissapear entirely because the raid was great. An updated version that is accessible by another entrance portal would be preferable to me as well. I would love to see a return of Kara but not the complete loss of the old one.Coppersocket wrote:Why? It makes perfect sense when you think about it. The brutal siege of Orgrimmar is over. Garrosh Hellscream, the most infamous orc on Azeroth, now sits in chains. His tyrannical leadership of the Horde has been ended by his many enemies, and he must answer for his crimes.
Renowned leaders from across the world gather in Pandaria to witness Garrosh's trial. Visions of his past atrocities are presented in vivid detail for all to see. But as history is revisited, old grievances and bitter memories come back into the light, and those in attendance begin to wonder if anyone among them is truly innocent. Mounting tensions and rising enmity steer the court to the brink of chaos... as the world waits with bated breath for the verdict on the war crimes of Garrosh Hellscream.

Blizzard wrote:In the latest 5.4.2 PTR build, we are testing the new ability to mail account-bound items to other characters on your account that may be on different servers. Notably, this should allow you to move heirlooms between servers, in advance of our planned Warlords changes that will make them fully account-wide.
Sending this sort of mail should work like any cross-server communication: You send the item to "Playername-Servername" and it should otherwise work like regular mail. Note that you can only send account-bound items, and not other items or gold.
Example: I have a character, Thrall, on the Benedictus server. I want to send my heirloom mace to my alt, Durotan, on the Lycanthoth server. I'd log in as Thrall, and attach the mace to a mail addressed to "Durotan-Lycanthoth" and hit send.
We'd appreciate any feedback or bug reports on this new feature so that we can address any issues prior to the release of 5.4.2. But even without direct feedback, just logging into PTR and mailing account-bound items across servers should give us useful data to help confirm that the feature is working as intended. Thanks!

This is the best thing. I can finally retrieve my plate Heirlooms from... wherever they are - possibly Ravenholdt?Zinkle Figgins wrote:Blizzard wrote:In the latest 5.4.2 PTR build, we are testing the new ability to mail account-bound items to other characters on your account that may be on different servers. I do like the lore in WoW and I can completely understand why they're trying to put gameplay first, I mean, a good story is vital for good gameplay! and I think Blizzard recognises that, if we wanted good lore.. would terrible things be happening every other year in WoW?
wouldn't that mean we wouldn't be having awesome expansions every year?

XD The peaceful expansions based on trade and an industrial revolution in Kalimdor might get old quicker than Cata!Krelk wrote:I do like the lore in WoW and I can completely understand why they're trying to put gameplay first, I mean, a good story is vital for good gameplay! and I think Blizzard recognises that, if we wanted good lore.. would terrible things be happening every other year in WoW?

Re: Mists of Pandaria
In my opinion Blizzard is doing a good job overall, we're still talking about a game with more than seven million players, compared to other RPGs you have a lot more people to account to (both users and stakeholders). And most of the games with a similar player-base don't even have a structured lore as Warcraft's.

Re: Mists of Pandaria
I think from when I first started playing in Lich king and then again in early cata that the story side of the game, not the lore but how they tell a story, has improved vastly.
Back then zones were small fragments of a story, told through quests (if you read them). Now we have a legendary quest everyone can do that tells a story about pandaria, and the black prince. We have a scenario for so many smaller threads of the story and phasing to tell a story in a much more immersive way.
Lore is another issue from story imo, just to make my position clear.

Re: Mists of Pandaria
The problem with blizzards lore writing is that the lore presented outside of the game works vastly different from what happens in the game.
