How about people serving in the army IRL and then rp'ing great army commanders in game?
I think a great mayority of the people here has a healthy self distance, and that any worries are cute, but uncalled-for.

You forgot to add people playing Stalin ICly, but yes, I am just voicing a concern that JP illustrated well. I am quite sure there are competent people behind this concept that will make sure it runs smooth and well without problems.

The main issue with this from what I see is to keep it realistic as possible with the timeline. But I am quite sure that is not a concern as it has already been thought of and discussed in the previous posts.

A lot of exaggeration and slippery slopes going on here.

Just gave it as a far fetched example, if it is too much, I apologize. I am quite certain as I said, that it will not be the case and this will go as smoothly as possible as its run by people who know their game.

I'am however very, very far from the army IRL.

I think the card JP pulled is a bit of an unfair one,
Most people can related to their characters rp or situation in some way or another. I'd give some examples but I dont want this thread to derail further since its one of the better ideas I've seen in quite a while, granted it still needs alot of thought though.

Thats why I think that with proper execution of the idea once its thought over something really good will come out from it, but it will require quite some solid work.

Oh dear. It certainly isn't my intention to stop this idea, or to have a piss at it. If I gave that impression, then sorry.
I think it deserves a lot of merit. It's even close to a concept I had myself... I merely meant to voice that concern and hope this concept is executed with some awareness. You are bringing politics to a public place.

Most regrettably, this is true. Omanos is not a member of DoL, at the moment, however.

I am genuinely delighted with everyone replying in the way they did. Everyone's ideas all have something usefull in them.
