Gnomes are hell-a-easy to RP. Just a fraction of the amount of backstory that the humans have and no language stuff to it.

When I first started my first elf, I was TERRIFIED to interact with the 'proper' nelf RPers. I was really scared of getting judged. Now I know most of them are really nice and helpful and don't mind if you make mistakes

I also have a Darnassian for Dummies GHI book on all my elf chars. Yes. My memory is that awful that even after 2 years of elf RP, I have to use it.

I want to 90-boost a female draenei that is also a lesbian.  Which I know on its' own is fine but I can sort of hear people rolling in their graves like "not another draenei lesbiiiaaannn".  I'm tempted to be a contrary little shit and make her very "dont fuckn touch me evr" but I don't know if that'd even help the "people will think she is cliche and HATE YOOUU" thing.

I don't think I've ever met a straight female draenei. Not that there is anything wrong with RPing a lesbian char, but its very overused by the people wanting lesbian erp, sadly. (That and AD's futa draenei has forever scarred my mind)

However!

If you really want to play a type of char, be it lesbian, gay, people lover or people hater, then just do it! In the end you are the one who should enjoy the rp. You don't make a char to please what others want. You make a character how you like it, and you place as much emotion, or as little emotion, into the character as you want. I say go for it, Nope ^^

I know, like I'll do it anyway but I just get nervous and second-guess/sit on my hands? There's also the 'population' thing that niggles at me, like if there's a lot of x sometimes I want to be a hipster and roll z instead. I will have to partially agree with Ixirar there. Being gay should just be a part of your char, not the whole sole reason you play it.

But I am sure you have plenty other char points you want to put on the char, so the sexuality should not really matter all too much. ^^

Yup. There's a huge difference from "Gay Draenei" and "Interesting, well thought out Draenei who happens to be gay". The former is the one that is over populated by horny teens.

I know, the gay was just related to the confession so I mentioned it.

From what I've been hearing all the big guilds (Yes, all of them) are doing really cool stuff in Draenor. It's actually quite cool when you listen to all the tales and adventures and try and create a serverlore timeline in your head.

Also, I am someone pro severlore (unless Blizzard has stated that something can't exist). This second part of my post is my actual confession.

Also more confessions. I tend not to remember what someone irl looks like when interacting with them here or in game. If someone that I know is irl male but is currently playing a female character, I will refer to them as the gender they are currently playing. Even if I know logically what gender they are irl. I also disregard what they irl look like when talking to them because I have my own mental images of what people look like as they speak to me. And I am stubborn and prefer to my mental images to the truth.
(In hindsight, it looks like I am insulting people's appearence. That is not my intention. I am just saying my imagination will always override the truth).

Another confession. I wish the best for everyone, I genuinely do. I act like a mini terror on this website. I am overly opinionated and can be quiet rude. But despite how it may seem, I don't actually truely dislike or hate anyone in this community. Granted, I have disagreements with people and get annoyed. But its situational and circumstanctial. If I appear to to dislike you, assume I don't (because I don't). It's just something in that moment has riled up my impulsive nature into reacting.

Please people, I want you all to feel safe.
As stated previously in this thread, I started this because I wanted people to have a safe place to say how they feels about in game things. I don't want this to turn into a rp version of "the vent thread" nor do I want you guys to be genuinely cruel to each. But I want y'all to genuinely feel like you can talk about anything.
I mean granted, I am asking for a lot. Some of us in this community have the habit of jumping down each other's throats, I myself am guilty of this.
Heck I even loved it when (Can't remember if it was Adry or Eve) started talking about oranges. In my eyes that's on topic, reason being it was a thought they had whilst playing the game. Please, feel free. I hope you feel safe and comfortable. Fortunately the mods haven't locked the thread or given me a warning...yet, so something must be going right.

I haven't been seen roleplaying for a while now, and the reasons are simple, the first and most important one is that I have lost the tiny spark that ignited my imagination every time I looked at an image, read a text or even from dreaming, the spark that gave me inspiration to go on roleplaying.

The second reason is a bit more complicated, you see I have a disease that makes it difficult to read sometimes I have never really taken notice to it until very recently when it hit me like a brick wall. As I was reading something I found on the internet everything went blurry and at the beginning I thought it was just sleep catching up to me. However as time passed by I noticed it was getting more and more frequent, these days I'm lucky enough to read the simplest and greatest sizes of texts without my vision blurring out on me.

Heck I even loved it when (Can't remember if it was Adry or Eve) started talking about oranges.

It was Eve, remember seeing something about oranges on Real ID.

Haven't RPed at all for a while now and I don't mind, still thinking how to join up in the future but for now somewhat still testing stuff out on my rogue. To level up another char to 100 or Rp with one of the others is yet to be seen.

Another thing though is i like to work on gear for RP on chars at times, even mogs. Right now though i can't figure what I want for my rogue, keep the old style get a new, what gear to get... Aaah there is nothing good looking, so much gear. Darn that doesn't match. Oh look a tentacle staff. Hours later... Welp I wasted my time again.

This website has a horrible tendency to bring out everyones horrible side. I could argue that it's because a lot of the Alliance are horrible people, and it's an Alliance dominated website but that's not what I'm trying to get at. Sure, I come here regularly enough when I'm active on the server but I try not to use this website as my guide for how people are as people.

When you first joined WT as Eliza Dawn and said "I hope this doesn't change things but..." and then you mentioned this website, I completely dis-regarded the possiblity that we might have had a falling out at some point.

This website is toxic as fuck, and just like people in /all chat in League of Legends, it's not representative of the actual person behind the screen.

Having RP'd with you on Eliza Dawn, and now Arabella Greene I've had some exceptional RP opportunities and a lot of fun speaking with you as both a player, a person, and a persona. I think this goes on to prove that even though negative things are rife here, people should just let go of what happens here and deal with their fellow RPers on a more personal one to one level instead of letting this shithole cloud peoples judgement.

On a semi-related note. Peoples avatars colour 9/10's of peoples post for me. If you have a frowny, angry looking avatar like Ixirar, it makes the tone of the post very frowny/angry.

If you have an avatar of a smiling cat like Siegmund, I tend to think the post is generally light hearted in tone, because who can get mad at a smiling cat?

Then if you have an avatar like Shaelyssa or Rashka, I don't generally put much weight or worth into the person making the post due to the avatar looking like something I'd see on a fan website for a kids cartoon.

Just like a tracksuit or a tailored-suit at an interview, how you 'dress' your profile says a lot about you as a person.

Edit: And then I go and change my avatar to a frowny Raene. Typical.

Idk confession: the acidicness has put me off entire guilds sometimes.  Maybe folk are fluffier ingame, but when I see stuff like people setting a screenshot of being asked to be left alone as their signature, I really don't want to deal with them.  If a snarky site is all it takes for them to start joining in then why should I trust them to behave in other venues when things get heated?  And in some cases their ingame/offsite behaviour has just been worse.  It's still stuff they're choosing to do even if the environment is egging them on.

The way I see it, people are capable of some horrible things when their inhibitions are gone. In an atmosphere where people are invited to be monsters, they'll become monsters.

Which explains phenomenon like 4chan I suppose.

Which makes me worry where else their opportunistic tendencies would show up anyway. I dunno, when my inhibitions are gone I'm just drunk and pointing a webcam at my cat.

I think comparing this forum to 4chan or League of Legends is melodramatic.

People are argumentative on this forum because they all share a love for Warcraft and/or RP. If someone is passionate about a hobby, they'll defend their point to no end. I don't think anyone argues because they have a feeling of anonymity or safety behind their screen.
