I'm guilty of this too, but like with Senariul, my char has a full char background as of why he is no longer with the Horde, and a lot of it were Rped out, and not just written. My char is not overly fond of the Alliance either, but does what he has to to survive.

I know this feeling. I created my mage after RPing with Skarain and realising how fun mage RP looked.

I power leveled my paladin before boosting was a thing. But then when I started playing with her in the Regiment for the first time a few years ago, I remembered why I ooc disliked the light..she never ic became a paladin

I used to be a mad altoholic, with a million characters across my 8 accounts. These days I've cured myself and I'm perfectly happy just playing Clamity.

Also I'm touched that you made a character after seeing my RP, though I don't remember doing much teleporting.

I feel bad RPing Raene. All the time.

I look around at everyones characters, and they all have very clearly defined strengths and very clearly defined weaknesses. Most of my characters have those same features.

... But Raene doesn't -have- any weaknesses. She bleeds like anyone else of course, but she's got a tool for nearly everything that RP has thrown at her so far. She has yet to find something that stumps her.

If they need a scout, Raene goes bird. If they need a frontline fighter, Raene goes Boomkin. If they need a Bruiser to take a few hits, she'll go Bear. If they need something assassinated quickly, and quietly, Raene goes Cat. If something needs carrying, Raene will either go Stag or Boomy.

And that's not counting the tricks up her sleeve as an Elf either.

She's fully capable as a Soldier as well due to being a Sentinel Post-Sundering making her highly proficient with most modern weaponry. She's fully capable as a Healer/Medic, with a range of defensive spells to not only protect, but to recover people/herself. She's able to mould the raw power of nature into offensive based spells as well, so she needn't even throw herself right into the middle of the fray. She has influence over weather in her immediate vicinity, she is in touch with the Flora and Fauna of the world and can grow so long as there's the right conditions for the plant life, and some limited control over animals as she tries to ask them for their aid [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Not all flaws have to do with "power levels". You can be the most powerful creature that ever graced Azeroth and still be a total douchebag. That's a flaw and a pretty nasty one at that.

Because you don't force players into believing that she is so. She feels mortal, she feels real. Here emotions are strong and true and everyone around her can't help but forming some kind of attachment to her. When she gets hurt she gets really hurt. I remember when she got sniped everyone panicked ic because it came out of nowhere and people know how resourceful she is. Actually that's the word. She's resourceful, not op.

Confession: I haven't properly rped with almost anyone in this thread. I see all those char names pass in the street or stand somewhere in an event, but they're all strangers to me.

That's what kinda brought this to a head. Last night Nihilia said ICly. "That's our Raene. Always prepared for everything."

And I have to stop for a minute and think... Everyone else here is freezing to death in Frostfire, huddled together in a cave trying to stay warm, and Raene's enjoying being a big bear full of blubber and fur.

I've always had that niggling thought of her being OP/Resourceful in my own mind, but then Nih said it too ICly and it got me wondering what other people think of when they look at her.

I think my most "op" character was probably Thelos, but he was like an overspecialized Pokémon: Super Effective against Undead and Demon types, but useless against anything else.

I really regret not being around to meet Soleth truth be told. That would have been an experience.

Everyone knows Raene's true weakness. Just knock her on her back and she can't get up again, like a turtle.

To be fair, Raene is a veeeery old elf. Time has taught her how to deal with things. Of my elves, I think Thaldir would be my most cunning one in battle.

I like having defines strengths and weaknesses. That way I can justify having a few moves which are devastating, but also give my opponent ample time to react and perhaps find a way around it ^^

I'm sad to hear that, and geniunely surprised.

Your stuff is usually top notch, so even if it was a 'stupid' idea I think you'd roll with it well.

Most of my ideas are stupid.

The best character I ever did was Jean-Baptiste de Gouille, the Forsaken Death Knight. The rest was garbage - garbage, I say!

Dont feel bad Thelos, I think if you shoot for the kind of chars you make it can happen you get a few duds.  I have made some great chars myself and yet I have made some that dont quite come off right.  With them I just pull them out and recycle ideas onto new ones I have made.  Lex started out as a robotic like DK called Milton on AD.  Una was almost a gnome to.  

I had a ginger sniper called "one inch" too.

Also Raene, last times I RPed with you it was loads of ooc, drama and im not gonna lose Opness, I hope from what people are saying you are gd rp now.

To be fair about 99.5% of the characters that are Rped here are shit. That doesn't stop them being fun to play or okay to play with.

I report all bad RPers to Jagex

I only RP as humans because I feel to make a proper character of the other races, I need to get into the races various languages and ways of speaking / accents, and it just feels like too much work to me, as much as I'd like to try and RP as a Night Elf...

I tend to only roleplay humans, because I find them intimately more interesting in their flaws.

All other races have this identity which is an exaggerated form of specific human traits based in a trope filled culture. Which in my mind makes them boring to play.
