[A] Wild Tempest
The 157th Company, also known as Wild Tempest, began as a paramilitary group by Admiral Taylor upon the Kun-Lai Summit, recruiting from local Pandaren, Alliance adventurers and survivors of destroyed units. After the landing of the Alliance Fleets, Wild Tempest was incorporated into the Grand Alliance military structure and made into a multiracial company. The Company fought in many glorious campaigns ultimately leading up to the Siege of Orgrimmar.
...Yet as The Dark Portal turns red and endless numbers of strange looking orcs pour through the portal into this world as an echo of the First War, a call to arms is sound. 157th Company, dormant for months is called to reassemble. Dark Clouds are gathering above Stormwind and eyes are set on Blasted Lands as the Tempest prepares for War.

- Brief Guild Concept:
- Wild Tempest (full name: 157th Wild Tempest Company) is an Alliance military guild open to all races and classes. The guild is devoted to immersive Role-play with a good story and strong military theme.
Military theme does not mean that all RP will revolve around PvP, although PvP is certainly a part of it. "Military" in this case means that most RP will be devoted, in one way or another, to fighting on the side of the Alliance against the Horde and other enemies. It also means the guild is run like part of the military, with discipline, hierarchy and feel it entails.
Wild Tempest is not intended to become larger than a company, will never lay claim to being the Alliance Army and will steer clear of guarding and criminal&cultist Role-play unless the situation is just right and participation makes perfect sense.
- Guild Activities:
- There will be camp-RP involving training and camplife in-between larger events, sometimes it will be replaced with leave in a major city or RP hub. Sailing and other travel-RP will happen frequently, whenever the guild moves from a camp or continent to another. There will also be time and place for preparation: meeting other guilds, organizing the next operation, recruiting aid and finding rare supplies.
Dungeon Mastered events will be used for fighting non-played villains and as filler on operations and camp-site RP. It is a lot more fun to patrol around camp if suddenly there is a surprise attack, even if that attack is dungeon-mastered.
Being a guild that roleplay mostly outside the safety of city walls, PvP activity is encouraged to provide protection against ganking. The guild run Rated Battlegrounds weekly and many of the members engage actively in Arena.
WPvP will mostly consist of smaller-scale skirmishes instead of massive zerg to give battles a more personal and tactical feeling. Large-scale WPvP campaigns will take place, but they won't be the bread and butter of the guild's activities.
- Ranks, Organization and Discipline:
- Ranks of Wild Tempest are used solely to define soldier's duties and responsibilities and will not be handed out as rewards and encouragements.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Captain: commander of the company.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lieutenant: head of a platoon within the company, having authority over the entire company when the Captain is unavailable.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Master-Sergeant: senior field-leading officer with duties much akin to their lower counterpart.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Sergeant: general field-leading officers, squad-leader and tactical commander on the ground.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Corporal: lowest of the officer ranks, assistant squad leader and a reliable go-to person on camp.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lance-Corporal: soldier proven their reliability through strength, guile and loyalty.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Private: full-fledged member of the company.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Recruit: fresh face in the company.
Military theme means a clear chain of command. Every soldier knows, at any given time, who has the authority to give orders to him and who doesn't.
Army Discipline will be enforced, but it will not be nearly as chokingly strict as modern militaries. For instance, drinking on duty would not normally be punished while drunk and disorderly behavior would be. Getting in a fight with an officer might be overlooked if the officer in question doesn't mind it. Again, this is a military-themed guild which means that there are clear consequences and protocols to be followed. If offences persist, the severity of punishment will of course escalate. Which means you need to be caught drunk thrice to get a nasty punishment. There may be some overlap, as seriousness of an offence depends greatly on context. Getting in a fight with a soldier off duty is not the same as getting in a fight with him on the battlefield.
Overall, the ranks, the hierarchy and the discipline are meant to provide the guild with the military atmosphere and make it feel more like a military organization instead of a bunch of weekend adventurers. There will not be any ridiculous, over-the-top nonsense one sees in abundance in movies. "The first and the last word that leaves your mouth is 'sir', understood?" No way.
- "Last Chance" program:
- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Last Chancer programme's initial conception was a created designed for criminals and conscripts of the Grand Alliance. The "Last Chance" program is a place for hard men and women to whom life has not been kind. Outcasts with no other place to go, prisoners with severe sentences that choose service in the army over the noose or imprisonment.
The Last Chancers are given the assignments other soldiers are too valuable to do, because they are "expendable". The nasty jobs, the dangerous tasks. Those of "Last Chance" are given no other options but to tread forward or die, in hope of someday earn their pardon and gain their freedom.
The "Last Chance" program is open to all who wish to seek clemency in the eyes of the Crown and the Grand Alliance as a whole. Convicts, and Exiles alike. However this is of course highly subjective and each individual will be looked on as a separate case with varying degree of severity both by the Officers of the 157th Company, and the Officials of the Grand Alliance.
Wild Tempest work in co-operation with the Guard Guilds and keep in touch with them in hope of new recruits from their jails wishing to roleplay conscripts in military, or simply as another way to avoid execution from various crimes. Times of service is different in each individual case, ranging from a month to indefinitely. The time of service will always be agreed OOC with each individual based on their own wishes.
People interested in this concept should be aware of the nature, dangers and limitations brought by the concept before applying. Read more about the concept [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Oh yes, and we answer to the most noble of military authorities the Alliance has ever seen: Spymaster Helmut Spoon, Stormwind Minister of Defense.

Genuinely tempted to have a character thrown into the Last Chancers. Very cool concept.

Helmut is our little corrupt overlord. He holds the unit in a tight grip with his tiny, greedy, selfish and uncaring fingers. But we love him for it!

While not included in everyday of work, it is now officially proven that Wild Tempest can, against all expectations, to stand in formations!

Re: [A] Wild Tempest
- The Damned 157th:
- Salara stood firm atop the craters edge, her cloak thrashing behind her as the arid desert air cut across her face, the chaotic swirling energies of the crimson portal disturbing the sands and lashing it across her bare skin. Yet she did not flinch, she did not squint or move to protect her face from the sandblasting, she defied it. If she bent to the winds, then what hope did she have against the Iron Horde awaiting her on the other side? If she showed weakness, then what hope could she instill in the soldiers who'd agreed to charge through the portal with her?
With the Ironmarch Vanguard in disarray, the Second and Third Platoon rejoined the infamous First Platoon, the Wild Tempest, by the rim. A sea of blue in stark contrast to the blood stained maroon sands below the red portal. Their clothes were tattered, their leathers slashed, the chains broken and their plate caved in. Beaten, bloodied, but standing before their Captain, as ordered.
The Captain had already given her speech to the best of her men. They wouldn't be in the Tempest if they weren't competent enough to be there. Even the rookies showed great promise for the future, but the 2nd and 3rd weren't hardened Soldiers or aspiring greenhorns, they were peasants in plate, people past their prime, men and women in ill fitting armour without the skill or natural talent for warfare. As she opened her mouth to speak, the words flowed freely, yet she could not hear herself, merely moving back into her own mind as she wondered how she ended up in this situation.
The actions of the 157th had become legendary within the streets of the Alliances grand cities. "Wild Tempest, storming the front". The valiant heroes who stormed Orgrimmar and survived. In the period of peace post the Siege of Orgrimmar, Captain Inran and her forces became the poster children for Alliance recruitment efforts.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Tachal Stormclaw and the Windfury Brothers, terrorising the Orcish lines with the raw power of nature inspiring the Elves within Darnassus. The Draenic Light wielding champions, guardians of the Naaru Karkoom, Huruma, and Nihilia were recalled of fondly within the Worlds End Tavern. The Strongbrew family's contributions to the war effort was rumoured to raise eyebrows as well as tankards even as high as the Council, with the Dwarves stalwart counterparts harnassing the designs of the DAMNIT Gnomes within Gnomeregan just down the mountain. Stormwind was no exception with grand retellings of the fearless Lieutenant Ashdown and his equally as skilled partner Sgt. Vanimelde. Even the Death Knights of Archerus were said to let out a shrieking howl of approval upon hearing of the exploits of their two Human compatriots Darkblood and Dawson.
Truly, there wasn't a corner of the Alliance world untouched by the influence of the Tempest's story. Glory hounds flocked to the recruiting offices all seeking to be a part of this well decorated company. False tales of valour flooded the inns of every major city as new conscripts retold the stories of the heroes who were at Orgrimmar in their own image. As the true soldiers dispersed to their respective homes and the infamous 1st Company grew smaller and smaller following the relative time of peace after the Siege, the glory hounds were sent on extended leave to return to their families and their farms, acting only in times of need as a ragtag militia against whatever Kobold or Murloc threat that couldn't be ignored.
And here they were... This ragtag militia alongside the reformed heroes of the 1st Platoon being asked to charge the Dark Portal. There were no orders in her speech, merely a request for volunteers. What happened next came at the surprise of nobody. A vast majority of the 2nd and 3rd Platoons stepped back, clearing themselves from the main body with only a few dozen of them remaining forward. The 1st Platoon remained mostly forward, only those with serious commitments back home, too injured to step through, or those ordered to remain behind stepped away from the main body. Ordering into two ranks at the roaring yelled order of Lt. Dawnweaver, Salara counted down her ranks. 47... 47 plus herself and Dawnweaver... It will have to suffice.
"Squires confirm that the Alliance forces require our aid as Khadgar and his personal elite disrupt the energy powering this abomination. Men and Women of the 157th, stick by your peers in the coming fight and we will make it through this. When Khadgar has closed this portal, we will hold the line for as long as we can before retreating in a different direction so as to draw the Iron Horde away from the Archmage. Welcome to the Damned 4th Platoon Ladies and Gentlemen. On me."
- Inran - Crash on the Frozen Waste:
Sailing for days, perhaps week since their escape from The Dark Portal, Wild Tempest was aboard a stolen Iron Horde vessel. Pursued relentlessly by the Iron Horde Navy, the boat escaped from a patrol by steering into fog, but getting lost in the process. The air had been getting colder for days now. The Tempest journey came to an end as the ship saw land to soon to stop due to the fog, crashing into rock and ice.
With a biting wind blowing from the sea and exposing the Tempest to hypothermia, the Soldiers and the few others with them exit the ship and set camp in a nearby cave.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
A salvage mission was put into action, to recover what possible from the ship. A few soldiers also went to hunt out for wood.
Supplies found and stored in the cave was:
-Some scrap metal
-A large flag
-A small stack of firewood
- Inran - They Found Us...:
In the evening, a day after Wild Tempest crash on Frostfire Ridge, a Iron Horde Juggernaught arrive to the crash site. To much for the Tempest in it state to fight, the company conjured a magical storm and fled in the cover of a blizzard. Suffering from both cold and from fire, as crossing a river of lava where a couple of Fire Elementals made their home. The Unit yet made past the river, and into a cave (after first collapsing the cave entrance by accident, then dig a hole in the rocks through)
Wild Tempest is currently stationed in a Cavern close to a stream of lava.
-One of the walls (behind a large rock) have been 'melted' and an Iron Pipe made of Scrap metal sticks through. Hot springwater drips through the pipe, whenever a wooden cork is not stuck in to stop the flow.
-The entrance leading to the cave is largely covered by Large Boulders.
-Food is short. It will last 3 days max from now (24.11).
-Wood is short. Campfire was made of broken crates.
-Scrap Metal and some Herbs was carried with the group.

The Mission;Main Objectives- Hunt down the Matriarch Wolf Completed
- Avoid Frostwolf Orcs Failed
- Avoid Iron Horde Orcs Completed
- Avoid Garn/Wolf Packs Failed
Cpl Shatterstar began the mission by informing Lt Dawnweaver of an abnormally large Wolf alone in the area without a pack immediately sensed around it. After being given the details of the large creature, and in dire need of food and furs for warmth, Lieutenant Dawnweaver began organising a hunting party to track down the Wolf. Using Cpl Shatterstars druidic sense as a guide, the party came upon a ridge overlooking the Wolf and decided to split the party. With a large majority of the force in heavy plate, Cpl Shatterstar led Minister Taragon and Pyromancer Secran around the large creature to cut off its escape routes as Cpl Shatterstar would drive the Wolf towards the plated wall over the ridge.
Upon striking the Wolf, it began to dash off at incredible speeds despite its incredible size, barging over or through the plated wall and making its way further into the tundra before collapsing of blood loss down in the middle of a ravine. As the party prepared to finish their prey, a Frostwolf Shaman with a pack of Wolves in tow rounded a corner, heading towards the wailing howls of the dying beast.
The Orc proved no threat as it knelt down to cradle the dying prey. At this point, the 4th Platoon realised that they had critically wounded the Orcs companion. Attempts to intervene to save the creature were refuted by the Orc who was lost to grief and incomprehensible.
As the 4th prepared to leave the Orc to grieve, he ended his companions suffering and called upon the one who struck the blow that wounded his Wolf to engage him in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Cpl Shatterstar reluctantly took up the challenge managing to land a flurry of piercing and slashing wounds against the Orc in a ring made from the Wolves and the 4th Platoon members. With only rocks, lava, and snow around her, Cpl Shatterstar was unable to call upon the forces of nature to aid her in the duel, and her various forms were deemed unsuitable for this martial duel. Despite having the upper hand, the Orc only grew stronger and angrier as the duel continued with his wounds doing very little to slow down the rampaging Orc.
Having her weapon snatched from her and snapped in half, the Orc succumbed to his grief and intended to take the duel of honour to further extremes by attempting to murder Cpl Shatterstar. M-Sgt. Nihilia and Civillian Nivaali managed to intervene before the fatal blow was struck resulting in the Wolf Pack diving onto the 4th Platoon members in retaliation. After a series of injuries from the Wolves, the Orc managed to regain his composure to see his Wolves being dispatched by the Damned, and so he began to withdraw. Using his Shamanic powers to aid in his escape, he managed to get out of the basin but not before being inflicted with numerous wounds.
Officer(s) Notes:- In addition to the Matriarch Pelt and Meats, an additional 8 Wolves have been collected, skinned, and harvested for meat.
- Cpl Shatterstars weapon has been broken, and seems highly distraught over this. How this will effect her combat capabilities remains in question. The Orc Shaman was last seen fleeing with the other half.
- Frostwolf Orcs may be seeking vengeance for the attack on their Wolves and Shaman. Additional security measures should be taken.
- Private Ara had ventured out of the cave on her own after the mission claiming to be covering the 4ths tracks against M-Sgts Nihilias orders to remain with the 4th. Cpl Shatterstar has placed a Last Chancer collar upon Private Ara citing desertion, insubordination, and dissent within the ranks as her justification. Private Ara was last seen being put to sleep by Cpl Shatterstar via force, with M-Sgt Nihilia put in charge of the Detonator and Key for the Collar.
