[A] Wild Tempest - RP-WPvP
The short background of the unit is that it was formed by Admiral Taylor back in the initial discovery of Pandaria. Recuiting survivors of paramilitary units, locals and Alliance adventurers, Task Force "Wild Tempest" was assembled to secure foothold on the continent and prepare for the landing of Alliance fleets. For it success, the unit was officially recognized and made a multi-racial military company of the Alliance. As such the 157th "Wild Tempest" Company operated until shortly after the fall of Orgrimmar, having experienced two successful but bloody campaigns in both Outland and southern Kalimdor still. Yet in current times, the company finds itself reformed, drastically reducing the unit it's size and funds, now known as Task Force: Wild Tempest.

- WHAT CHANGED?:
- With the slight shrink in the size of our guild, plus our desire to offer the members a slightly different and more free kind of Roleplay, still fitting within the general Wild Tempest and military feel, we decided on returning the guild more to it's roots. With some added extras, of course! Therefore we changed the In-Character guild name and form from 157th "Wild Tempest" Company to Task Force: Wild Tempest.
Loosening up a bit on the IC discipline, but not removing it as we remain military, is one example. With the goal of improving the atmosphere and brotherhood in the guild. The unit now (ICly) smaller both in size and funds, will likely result in a different, more tactical and focused missions for our soldiers. And not to forgot the cut in funds, who knows were lack of coin for otherwise supplied extras may lead a soldier! We hope to a more friendly and entertaining atmosphere, still fitting within the general Wild Tempest concept. Think less like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and more like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
"With the war against the vile Horde over, Alliance High Command has come to the conclusion that it doesn't have need of the big unit that is the 157th "Wild Tempest" Company anymore. Instead, they desire a smaller, cheaper and more specialized unit, full of the most experienced and loyal soldiers. A task force.
Just like that, the best and most qualified soldiers of the former 157th now found themselves part of Task Force "Wild Tempest". Their funds and numbers cut to minimal, these rock-hard soldiers are in for a rough, but fun time!"
- BRIEF GUILD CONCEPT:
- Wild Tempest (full name: Task Force: Wild Tempest) is an Alliance military guild open to all races and classes. The guild is devoted to immersive Role-play with a good story, wrapped up in a nice military theme.
Military theme does not mean that all our RP will revolve around PvP, although PvP is certainly not unheard of.
"Military" in this case means that most RP will be devoted, in one way or another, to fighting for the Alliance against the Horde and anyone else that threatens our beloved ones. It also means the guild is run like part of the military, with some discipline, hierarchy and feel it entails.
Wild Tempest will never lay claim to being the Alliance Army and will steer clear of guarding and criminal & cultist Role-play unless the situation is just right and participation makes perfect sense.
- GUILD ACTIVITIES:
- There will be camp-RP involving training and camplife in-between larger events, sometimes it will be replaced with leave in a major city or RP hub. Sailing and other travel-RP will can happen as well, whenever the guild moves from a camp or continent to another. There will also be time and place for preparation: meeting other guilds, organizing the next operation, recruiting aid and finding rare supplies.
Dungeon Mastered events will be used for fighting non-played villains and as filler on operations and camp-site RP. You have to admit, it's a lot more fun to have DMed event then simply one-hitting a random mob, no?
Being a guild with a Roleplay preference of going outside for a picknick, instead of sticking to the safety of city walls, PvP activity is encouraged to provide protection against any unwelcome visitors. The guild runs Rated Battlegrounds weekly and many of the members engage actively in Arena.
W-PvP will mostly consist of smaller-scale skirmishes instead of massive zergs to give battles a more personal and tactical feeling. Large-scale W-PvP campaigns will take place, but they won't be the bread and butter of the guild's activities.
- RANKS, ORGANIZATION AND DISCIPLINE:
- Ranks of Wild Tempest are used solely to define soldier's duties and responsibilities and will not be handed out as rewards and encouragements.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Lieutenant: Commander of the unit, the boss!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Sergeant: Second-in-Command, and in general the officer you'll find leading on the field, squad leader.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Corporal: Soldier proven their reliability through strength, guile and loyalty. Veteran!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Private: Full-fledged member of the unit.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Recruit: A fresh face in the unit, cannon-fodder!
Military theme means a clear chain of command. Every soldier knows, at any given time, who has the authority to give orders to him and who doesn't. There will not be any shouting matches between sergeants who can't agree.
There's a form of general Army Discipline within the unit, but you may find it surprisingly light. The officers maintain three main and plain rules for everybody to obey, these rules are:
- Obey your superiors.
- Do not harm your comrades.
- No necromancy.
A soldier should find his or her stay within the unit surprisingly pleasant and comfromtable, if (s)he obeys the rules. However, if these simple rules are not obeyed. No deity will safe you from the wrath likely unleashed on you by your superiors.
Overall, the ranks, the hierarchy and the discipline are meant to provide the guild with the military atmosphere and make it feel more like a military organization instead of a bunch of weekend adventurers. There will not be any ridiculous, over-the-top nonsense one sees in abundance in movies. "The first and the last word that leaves your mouth is 'sir', understood?" No way.
- D.A.M.N.I.T.:
- D.A.M.N.I.T. Or the "157th" Dashing Association of Marvelous, Noteworthy and Ingenious Tinkers, while currently very few in number are the power behind anything even remotely mechanical within the unit. Be it the upgraded engines and firepower of the previous Warship of the Company, 'The Stormbringer' or anything else from gears and guns what the Command and fellows soldiers ask for.
These tinkers of the Tempest not only use their spanners and many other tools for service of the unit, but for everybody Alliance aligned! Be the customer a soldier from another unit, a minister of a city or a simple citizen, they are all welcome to browse through and buy inventions these creative minds have created.. Or perhaps they have a ingenious idea themselves! But lack the knowledge and/or the resources to create it. No worry, D.A.M.N.I.T. will help!
- "LAST CHANCE" PROGRAM:
- [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The Last Chancer programme's initial conception was a created designed for criminals and conscripts of the Grand Alliance. The "Last Chance" program is a place for hard men and women to whom life has not been kind. Outcasts with no other place to go, prisoners with severe sentences that choose service in the army over the noose or imprisonment.
The Last Chancers are given the assignments other soldiers are too valuable to do, because they are "expendable". The nasty jobs, the dangerous tasks, things no sane person would do willingly. Those of "Last Chance" are given no other options but to tread forward or die, in hope of someday earn their pardon and gain their freedom. With the change in the structure, from Company to Task force, deserters can be permitted even less on the field. Because of that -all- Last Chancers are equipped with a necklace, containing a Gnomish tracking device and a small charge of remotely activated explosives.
The "Last Chance" program is open to all who wish to seek clemency in the eyes of the Crown and the Grand Alliance as a whole. Convicts, and Exiles alike. However this is of course highly subjective and each individual will be looked on as a separate case with varying degree of severity both by the Officers of the 157th Company, and the Officials of the Grand Alliance.
Wild Tempest work in co-operation with the Stormwind Regiment and regularly visit their jails in hope of new recruits wishing to roleplay conscripts in military, or simply as another way to avoid execution from various crimes. Times of service is different in each individual case, ranging from a month to indefinitely. The time of service will always be agreed OOC with each individual based on their own wishes.

Re: [A] Wild Tempest - RP-WPvP
Wild Tempest has left the safety of Stormwind docks for their first official mission as the new Task Force: Wild Tempest. The objective sounds quite simple.. To terminate the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in the most efficient and brutal way, on the distant continent of Northrend.
However, even the journey to Northrend has proven troublesome as a drunken captain crashed their transport ship, the "Titanic" on a block of ice somewhere on the coast of the icy wastes. The soldiers were forced to "Storm the shores!" with the use of quite the 'seaworthy' life boat, as seen here:

With several unsuccessful and rough weeks in Northrend behind them, the unit finds itself back in the safety of Stormwind City.
Enjoying a nice week of vacation before being set out again on a yet unknown, likely very unlucky target.
For the Alliance!

Re: [A] Wild Tempest - RP-WPvP
Task Force: Wild Tempest currently finds themselves in the torn lands of Outland, or to be more precise.. Shadowmoon Valley! However, their initial mission there to sabotage and hinder the suspected evil Red Blade tribe changed drastically.
To their own surprise the soldiers of the Tempest were asked to stop collecting Red Blade heads, instead they are forced to work together with these Horde savages against a common foe.
How will that end, more bloodshed, a tight friendship or even worse? Find out yourself by contacting the nearest recruitement office!
