I want to see... someone being able to play two GMs in two popular and active guilds at the same time. It would be indeed interesting to see if the worlds best GM, got a challenge to create an alt and create a second guild and try to keep both active at the same time.

There's this thing called RL, considering being a gm in an active guild is about ~20 hours a week minimum during prime time.

Getting players to sign up for a guild is at best a job that takes around five minutes. That is, if you just want your guild to be officialy created and then kick those folks out (if they haven't left already), before you start recruiting proper members.

You could take it in-character. Start gathering the signatures with whispers in dark corners, slowly growing your cultist empire until you have enough followers to go "legit".

Recruitment should of course always be carried out IC in an RP guild. If I understand it correctly, you will station the base of the Guild in Duskwood, right? Will this be in the caverns beneath Raven Hill or somewhere else, if you will have it there at all? Curiousity merely Smile

There's nothing that you should do. You came here to these here forums asking for advice, we're telling you things that might help you. Gathering signatures in-character worked for me, it might not work for you.

To this day those who signed the Band of the Brave charter have the "Founding Member" rank, even though only one of those characters is still active.

Well, it would probably be a good idea to have actual cult members before you make the guild. I mean I can't even count how many cultist guilds of various sorts pop up over the years, and most of them start out with a guild name, some title for the guild leader and then... fade away after a few weeks, because there wasn't really a demand for it to be a guild.

I have thought about a fitting place. Duskwood is a good place for stuff like this (as you well know) maybe the center of Raven hill maybe.

You can always make hunts for terrifying spiders to increase your collection and ask the local adventurers to be a free workforce or well free meal, one or the other.

Well... it will be trying to be a new religion (IC) which means it would be seen as evil by any light believers. and since it is a spider cult and there for would have the kind of: Predator and pray/the strongest survive mentality... yes it could be seen as evil.

I don't think that's true. Going by that logic, The Church of the Holy Light would consider all druids, shamans and priestresses of the moon, evil, and I don't think that's the case.

However--! SPIDER CULT. Pretty evil.

I think they overlook them since they are pretty much alike... They have the same ground for their Followers to follow. But since this don't work like that it could be seen as evil compared to the weak light xD
