New RP guild?

I have had a idea in the back of my head. I have been wanting to create a spider cult RP guild... Do any of you have any good thoughts about this? (If you wonder, my RP char Ziiketh is the one I would be creating it on. I had her as subject for the (Hated Draenei) post I made earlier in this forum )

Spiders make for good evil imagery.

TIPS:
#1 - Don't start promoting anything until you've got the guild charter signed, the guild created, a few people role-playing.
#2 - ....Have a few people role-playing.

People role-playing is really all you need.

Any tips for making sure that happen?

I don't understand it myself. I don't think anyone really does. All you can do is try to make something fun and hope other people see your fun stuff and want to get in on that.

I am quite into smaller guilds... with very active players. I was for example in the guild called: Eye of the shadow (It isn't active anymore) but I was with them from the start until the end.
I discovered that the guild was more enjoyable (at least  for me) when we where fewer players. We where all dedicated and where online as good as every day. We also had a VERY good knowing of who the others characters where. We knew them and atleast I feelt like we actually where a cult.

But when we got more members it kind of fell apart. New people that where not as good at RP (I don't say that I am any expert on it but they where HORRIBLE) people that didn't fit in their place as members. The question I had to ask sometimes: what where your char again... it wasn't that fun.

I know that guilds need to evolve... but I feel as that guild evolved slightly too quickly. We got about 20 new members in less that a week... it where not THAT good.

I want tips to avoid that that happens... that make sure my guild don't go the same path... (it closed down cause the Gm had IRL stuff to take care of... so I don't blame him.)

Just have fun leading it, creating plots, leading events, that's really the most important thing. More or less everything else stems from it. It doesn't matter if it feels like tedious, even pointless work at times; that's not wrong, you just have to delegate stuff more to your officers, and be confident that the motivation will eventually rise again.

One tip is that make sure people interested in your guild know how much fun you're having: showcase your events and RP through IC stories, screenshots, art, even guild movies, your creativity is the limit. Tell people what you do, what you are about, and how friggin' cool it is to be a part of your guild.

But really, just have fun.

Any good ideas for a name?

Something not terribly cliched, unless it has a really good ring to it.

First thought about Children of the silk... But that concept is so over used. Maybe: Followers of Hitchiza? (The spider god by Ziiketh's beliefs.

Suggestions with some blanks to fill in, as well as a few words I like:
"x of the Web"
"x's Hatchlings"
"Hive Mind"
"Fangs/stingers/etc of the Broodmother/Hitchiza"
"The Silkborn"
...

And suddenly I'm out of ideas.

Also... Anyone got any ideas of a meeting place? Preferably close to stormwind but can still be as far as the border between Duskwood and Stranglethorn. (That includes westfall, RRM and duskwood)

Somewhere in Duskwood. Why? Because of the spiders in the zone.

Well the atmosphere is so lovely in duskwood... But yeah that too. I have actually thought about the deepest part of the jasperlode Mine... But there might be a little too many Mobs that will be annoying.
