The Plaguelands Crusade - coming June the 4th!

Duskwood has taught us much when it comes to event-making and hub-organizing; few weeks after the event was concluded we began planning a Crusade to the Plaguelands. These plans were brutally interrupted by in-guild rivalries and conflicts. Sometime later Maelmoor and myself began planning it anew, preparing it to be held in the end of May or begin of June. Western Plaguelands Screenshots from Cataclysm have been revealed, and with them the fate of the zone…thus…here it comes!

The War of Liberation starts on June the Fourth! (04.06.10)

Introduction

Plaguelands Crusade will begin on 4th of June with the invasion of Caer Darrow by the alliance forces. Subsequently, Caer Darrow will be used as an Alliance Military hub. While Duskwood was a strictly RP event, this one will have a strong and menacing layer of planned and spontaneous w-pvp to it. There is no Blueshield in the Plaguelands! From Caer Darrow the alliance will send out war-parties and patrols to maintain security in conquered areas and liberate new ones. Are you role-playing a soldier? Bored of doing so on Cathedral Square? Here is your chance for war-camp RP! Be a soldier.

Supervising the efforts to stop the Alliance’s incursion into the Plaguelands will of course be the forsaken, striking from their strongholds within Tirisfal Glades and perhaps claiming a base of their own within the Western Plaguelands. Strictly speaking war can carry on beyond the Plaguelands, as Alliance and the Horde might fight for the supply-lines from Hinterlands or through Alterac, or as the Alliance attempts to reinforce the Scarlet strongholds in Tirisfal.

Please note that this event is still in the making, we are contacting people, discussing details and awaiting new Cataclysm information to pour in. Keep the date of 4th of June in mind and check this thread regularly! Everything written here is subject to change.

Participation

Those who want to participate from the Horde Side will have to contact the Cult of Shadow (Rasonal&Antistia) both IC and OOC. CoS are the contacts for the Horde guilds and RPers as well as the ‘Leaders’ of the counter-alliance efforts considering Undercity itself is threatened.

Those wishing to participate form the alliance side will have to contact either Maelmoor or Ioánna OOC, as at start we act as contacts and organizers. There will however be no automatic IC-leadership from our side since liberation of Plaguelands is the cause of almost all humans. Some Alliance Guilds will receive IC invitations to participate in this Crusade (them being the obvious military crusader-orders), others can join out of free initiative.

Some ideas for ‘unguilded’ role-players, and non-combat guilds to join and contribute to the event:
* Both sides need suppliers, quartermasters and doctors!
* There is a war going, and war is a lucrative business. May be you will sell over-prized potions to the soldiers or even –Light Forbid—steal from the corpses of the fallen soldiers?
* Are you a traitor? Here is your chance! Join the war-effort of your faction and sabotage it from the inside. (make sure to contact them OOCly first)
* You don’t care for Horde-Alliance rivalry? Come as a group of Argent Crusades, smite the Scourge and call for peace between the warring factions!

The Plaguelands Crusade

As armies of the Alliance bring the Light and Freedom back to the dead but not forgotten Kingdom of Lordaeron, armies of the Forsaken and their allies within the Horde pour from the gloom of Tirisfal to force upon the Plaguelands their own image of a perfect world. Strikes of swords and thunder of cannons will decide which side will shape Lordaeron into its image; nobody can foretell the epilogue as the story of Plaguelands unfolds….

In the end it will not have a single organizer ICly I suspect, but it might have an 'initiator'.

Sounds like a great event! Something we would definitely be very interested in joining for sure.

From the starting post afaik, could be wrong as I haven't really been able to talk to Iman one on one about this all yet.. Ras is doing that in my absence ;/
