One of the better topics from the AD forum and something I've never paid attention too. It just lends more weight to an Egyptian-themed roleplaying guild!

Nothing, one has to read the whole topic some statues are just in the image of the titans and we all know they sorta look like humans etc.

anubis thing.
a noobish thing.
a terrible pun.
The titans use human avatars because it's a limit of the game system/looks cool/links to classical statues/myths etc/the game is humo-centric/it distances them from the unspeakable lovecraftian horrors of the old gods shapeless forms.

Or, you know, you could assume that since all the races closely resembling humans (dwarves, vrykul, gnomes) are proven to originate from Titan constructs, those races were simply created in the image of the titans? :p

Uldum is a really cool place to role-play though and I could stand to hang around there more.

That too!
Though the Vykrul, gnomes and dwarves were definitely "proven" to be titan constructs made flesh (literally with the Curse of Flesh/Halls of Lightning/Stone etc etc.). Has the same ever been shown for Humans?
Edit: Uldum and Ulduar both (with the latter limited by raid size etc.) are great places for RP. Some wonderful places for exploring, or such.

Re: The Defias Battle.net topic.
Other than some passing stuff when WOTLK came out where is it stated in game that Humans are descended from Vykrul, or that Vykrul are proto-humans?
I ask out of genuine interest, and a lack of being arsed to check elsewhere!

Humans descended from Vrykul far as I remember from that quest in Howling Fjord?Grufftoof wrote:That too!

So sort of...2nd generation down. I can't remember exactly the quest, it was the one in the Vrykul village...something along the lines of 2 vrykul having a tiny kid and thinking it was deformed...but it was the first human? Wrath was a long time ago

Whatever. It's not like all these random creation-myth-quirks have any impact on role-play.

It does for us! Freelancers had more than one expedition centered around this whole thing.erwtenpeller wrote:Whatever. It's not like all these random creation-myth-quirks have any impact on role-play.

Yes... But does it, in role-play, matter which theory is true according to lore?Allonia_Miral wrote:It does for us! Random rule enforcement by Blizzard on RP policies has hit AD. Quiet a controversy, two guilds have been forcefully renamed.
An interesting read on the over-all inconsistency of Blizzard rule enforcement on realms with RP realms and such.

Blizzard doesn't really care unless someone mass reports, which surely some did in regard to this rule so yep.

Re: The Defias Battle.net topic.
Wait a second, people can call themselves A Bunch of Campers but can't use Darnassus in their guild name? What kind of rules enforcement is that?
Good to know mass reports work at least.

I don't think there are any rules about guild names having to be in-character are there?
