I'm not. I'm saying that if nobody knows DB is an active server because the only server that's ever mentioned is AD, nobody's going to come to DB. Simple logic of cause and effect.

DB is mentioned on occasion on the rp forums there are simply alot more carebear PvE-RP AD scumbags thus obviously there are going to be more people from AD posting. Its like comparing EA marketing to the witcher's CD Projekt RED. The polish guys from Projekt RED make better games but they can not compare to the sale's of steaming piles of shit such as

But yeah, obviously more people from AD are going to post because there are more people on AD. But considering how many people took the time to rage at this thread for 'whining' or whatever else, I'd have expected the same people to at least be arsed to post in the thread I linked to tell people DB is alive.

A simple response to illustrate the point is non-existent! Defias Brotherhood is not anything special, it's just another server, just another community. People come, people go. There's times it sucks, there's times it rocks. Sometimes the stories are good, sometimes they're bad.

There isn't more to it then that.

In the end, worrying about the bigger picture will only leave you with a headache, and a black hole in your soul when you suddenly realize nothing you do matters, or have a profound impact of any kind. The scope of world of Warcraft is simply too big.

Surely it depends what you want and get from RP that decides where you play. Personally I think AD has better quality Sin'Dorei RP, but AD alliance RP is as bad as that on DB, in GS its infinitely worse. When I want RP I head off to AD, and play DB other times. Generally though I don't think theres much to choose between any server.

If you think there are too few roleplayers on DB and you are also constantly weary of a bunch of WPvPers, why don't you go AD yourself? Smile

From what I'm getting: RP is dying - RP is getting better but still dying... We're the reason that RP is dying, and telling us that its because of us, will make us start breathing again. Oh, W-Pvpers is another reason why RP is dying.

IF ONLY AD DIDN'T EXIST! we wouldn't be on constant raenmar-reaffirmed Life-support.

If Someone didn't try and resuscitate us every two weeks by telling us how bad RP is doing, It would be dead already!

Really every single thread of this sort has the same answer.

WoW is at this stage a fairly old game. The subscriptions have peaks and troughs, but are following a steady downward trend over time. This is natural. The roleplaying scene is a niche of the overall subscriptions, and follows the same overall pattern, there are occasional peaks and troughs just the same but the overall trend, is downwards. Absolutely nothing can be done about this overall change. The nature of all gaming is that eventually, people move on.

There are ways to make DB more ‘competetive’ amongst other rping servers, sure. But raging against the fact that player numbers gradually fall is as pointless as raging against the tide. Enjoying the people you have around you, working on building good relationships with them ic and ooc, and building fantastic stories with them seems like the best possible approach and would probably attract interest.

Raging on forums, especially constantly comparing yourself constantly with another rping realm, does nothing positive at all. In fact it makes the server look negative and unpleasant.

Some people might want to string me up for this.
But in a way the best thing the RPers of Defias could do. Would be migrate enmass to AD.
Since then all of these conflics could be done and the two populated RPrealms left over wouldn't have to bitch with each other. (There would still be less and less RP over time)

This goes with how Blizzard should likely cut away 1/3rd of the servers they have. (Like, anything not above medium).
