Plenty of evil dudes use light, why shouldnt necromancers? There is a Blue that says that Forsaken can use light. For me Lighty dark squid is fine.

Allow me to go back a few topics.
If anyone starts up a new pure Space goat guild.
I have a Draenei that needs a home/guild.
They are currently collecting dust.

Well, I was going to, but I have since revised my plans and settled down with the Tempest, and I haven't regretted that decision for a single moment.
I'm willling to participate or even help organise some draenei events, but I am not going to join a draenei racial guild at the present, except maybe with an alt. I've had quite enough of experimenting with that particular format of role-play to grow tired of it. Long live mult-racial guilds!

In my eyes racial guilds are in a way flawed. Many read as "This is a guild for Draenei to be draenei together." I prefer guilds with concepts and goals. Of course this doesn't mean that such a guild cannot be racial!

Re: Draenei role-play
1 - Pay close attention to the starting quests and NPC texts. That right there will give you a lot of information and atmosphere to work with.
2 - Realize that the Light is a huge part of Draenei culture, no matter which class you pick. In a way, all Draenei are paladins.
3 - Your character is going to be unfathomably old. This might have an effect on who you are, and how you look at things. But maybe not.
4 - Keep your physical body in mind. You have tendrils, you have horns, hooves and a tail. That effects you and your environment.
5 - More of a general tip: Don't worry too much about the background story of your character. Come up with a simple premise, like focus on the class or the characters most prominent mood or trait, and start role-playing from there.
Useful reads for when you're really getting into it:

Re: Draenei role-play
I'll admit that all my knowledge about Draenei comes from Thelos and Drustai, not from direct sources. But according to them, the Draenei do not oppose the shadow like the Church of Light tends to do. So that is a potentially interesting hook to explore.

Re: Draenei role-play
They generally do not have last names, but some might have taken up the tradition in their journey to integrate into Azerotian tradition and society.
I suppose their last names would have a tenancy to reflect who the are, and their legacy, like orcish last names. But, like... "Starmender" instead of "Headsmasher"
First names are either demonic or very foreign sounding. Greek sounds tend to work well, I've named my Draenei "Vrachos", the Greek word for stone or rock.

I like how someone essentially made up their own lore based on a few vague non-canonical sources, and how everyone around them now considers it canon. Guess there's freedom in interpretation.

People keep using that word.
I don't think they know what it means.
There's a difference between logically extrapolating consequences from a given piece of lore and completely pulling something out of your ass. For example, assuming that your character is likely to be old because it is a fact that the flight from Argus was 25.000 years ago, is a fairly safe assumption - taken a step further, it's also fairly reasonable to assume that Draenei are immortal or at least have a ridiculously long life-span, since there's Draenei walking around that have been living longer than 25.000 years.
Nowhere does it explicitly say "Draenei are immortal," but a little deductive reasoning goes a long way.
It's elementary, dear Watson!

Re: Draenei role-play
Aye, and then you have the deduction which people do regarding the necromancy parts and the Auchenai which becomes kind of ridiculous. Especially when there are already canon parts spoken by actual former Auchenai which... well...
Maybe he was being sarcastic.
I believe that the dead, which we have been caring for these last 500 odd years, should be left alone. Maladaar has other plans. He has retreated to the Crypt of Remembrance to start his experiments... Necromancy.
Maybe he was being sarcastic.

The trouble is Blizz are not good writers generally and RPers will use any scrap to push what they want to see. For me Necromancy is just a word for death magic, it does not mean lol evil.

Re: Draenei role-play
You're talking about a stark raving mad Draenei as if he's the definitive source on what is, and isn't necromancy.
Forgive him for not being 100% correct with the term, when his quest dialog that people will only see once (if they even read the quest description) is not being "value-neutral" to Necromancy as a study of magic (or whatever people want to call it). He's a little bit special you see.
One could even say he's Mad
