Has anyone claimed The following locations?

Has anyone claimed Stonewatch keep in Redridge and The Slaughtered Lamb inn in Stormwind?

I don't like the idea of "claiming" a property or area, as it restricts RP - and I'm against the idea of someone claiming The Slaughtering Lamb as it is sort of a meetingplace for Dark Magic casters.
But it's your RP and you're free to RP that you've claimed either of those areas, I will accept that IC but not OOC.

As a answer to your question: I'm pretty sure both have been claimed by someone in the past but I'm not sure if those people are still playing.

Pretty sure Stonewatch is vacant atm anyway.

But as far as i know currently There is a kind of guild that acts as staff in the Lamb. The Drunken Steed i belive.

And for the Stonewatch keep, The Fallen Cross moved there not long ago, having it act as a kind of base of operations.

That's the most recent i know of, but probably others will mention same or similar things.

I was referring to opening a bar in the slaughtered lamb, if it would be vacant, I didn't refer to the type of "claiming" as in, make it my own. (E.G. "I CLAIM THIS LAND FOR MYSELF"), I meant using it as other people have used inns such as the blue recluse or the pig and whistle, sorry if there was any confusion, I didn't think opening a bar in there would restrict RP though, as the basement wouldn't be occupied, but if someone else is using the inn, then that's okay, I thought it'd be vacant.

Just to clarify by the way:
My main interest would be opening a buisness ICly in stormwind inside one of the buildings, so I'm looking for a vacant one which I could use to do so, like open a bar, restaurant, weapons repair shop, or the such. If anyone knows any vacant buildings, I'd really like to know them.

Not being able to claim a place is owned as a base is what really disrupts RP. Obviously there are limits, exceptions, and if it's empty people should be able to RP in it as if it's another place.

But there doesn't need to be a grand crusade against base-claiming every time someone asks if somewhere is vacant.

Well... If no one would have ever used a place, such as someone using an inn like... let's say the sober dwarf in ironforge, or the wayfarer's rest in silvermoon, and promoted roleplaying in there, I don't think it'd have been the same.
I didn't expect to stir such a reaction when I asked if an inn was vacant so I could open a buisness in it, since I wouldn't just break down the doors and obstruct everyone's RP just to do it.

So... I was gonna ask, does any of you know a good vacant building in stormwind, ironforge, or their surroundings?
I'm looking to open an IC buisness, that's pretty much it.

I'll have a word with the Council about compiling a list of player owned bars/inns etc in the city. There are some obvious ones, like the Blades owning the Pig but we can create a system where unless an establishment is renewed once a month, they'll be auctioned to the highest bidder or something.

Occupy any building you want, if it has another guild or playbase in it chat to the gm or an officer and see if its possible to sort something out.

If the gm or officer you contact is unreasonable or things can simply not be worked out, move on to a new building because there are plenty.

Holy fuck, let's not have the council trying to control building ownership too.

You mean organising it so these threads don't pop up every 2 weeks? Give people a chance to avoid drama by actually taking it ICly? Provide some economy to the game/OOC knowledge to aid people when they know what shops to visit?

Or you could, you know, just have the general understanding that nobody owns anything and if two guilds want to RP in the same place they'll just have to work something out?

Has there ever been any serious drama about it though? The times I've seen it it has been solved pretty fast.

Plus, what Samian said is the perfect solution really. There shouldn't be problems about this sort've stuff.

No drama intended, my suggestion was to clarify the buildings owned by people through a map/list. People could then speak to those people OOCly if they wanted ot use the place/find out if it is being used. I know criminals who'd benefit from it because they could target people's homes/shops to wreck etc.

The definition of stupidity is to believe the Council have some sort of OOC motive to be power hungry dictators. People seem to geniungly believe that when actually taking the role of a Minister usually means "I'm willing to help provide more rp for the community."

There was this one time Volusia wanted the ship that the Stormwind navy guild was using. Other than that, never to my knowledge.

But really. The council doesn't represent every RPer, it isn't known to every RPer. Having it responsible for building ownership is control.

I for one would not touch claims and ownership of physical in game places with a 10 foot pole Good luck with the bar and stuff tough.

Edit: Feel free to go here with critique or council related matters rather then derailing more threads, also makes it easier for us to have criticism/feedback compiled in one thread rather then ten.
