Total Biscuit pretty much sums up my thoughts on this horse. He makes some bloody good points:

^ Scroll down to the black banner with "TRH: Discriminate like a pr0" on it. Thats the joke part, the actual rant is under "Blue Plz! Season 4 – Episode 9" on that same link.
Skip to about..... 19:30 or so. It's funny how I found this by chance at the time of it's live airing last night.
EDIT: 21:00 actually, 19:30-21:00 is the voice of that joke.

You still fail to see that the mount IS wasting money according to YOU. You may be playing the game for the social aspect, others play it in order to experience team play or because their RL friends play and they want to accompany them. There are countless reasons as to why someone plays WoW.Andrek wrote:
No, the mount IS wasting money on pixels, I think we can agree on that the mount is indeed pixels. (and we can put wether its worth it to the buyer or not aside, thats not the point here)
Now tell me you only play WoW for graphics?
There are even people who enjoy doing "silly" things, like collecting items in game; items which normally have no meaning or any significant value attached to them for people without the same mentality. People even pay the subscription to only RP, something which looks utterly idiotic to pure PvP/PvEers.
Does that make the collectors or the roleplayers stupid? No. It's their money, it's their time, they are free to spend both as they wish. Others may not agree to this and see it as a waste. That still doesn't depict the one and only truth however.

I am not insulting anyone. I am question their sense of value for money. People are paying 20€ for this thing, thus they're supporting the price. WoW is a lot more than just pixels on a screen, it's a game. For roughly 12€ a month you support the development of advanced game systems, server clusters, customer support, a community and a lot of other stuff. In return, you get to play the game.
So for the people that are buying into this, they're basically saying that the worth of a new reskin = the worth of a new expansion. What will that end up in? Probably higher priced expansions and products as a whole. If people are willing to pay 20€ for a new model, they'll probably pay 40-60€ for a full expansion. People will still buy into it, and in the end it harms the game industry as a whole. That's why I'm concerned. You should get value for your money.

And you fail to see that everyone argue their point from their perspective. And yes, I feel kind of sorry for the bunch who feel its worth buying the popcorn for 4/3 of the movieticket.
I also feel you fail to properly read the arguements in place, instead returning with the "If I want to throw my fortune into the wishing pond I may because I feel like it."
And sure you can, and even if its worth it from your point of view, which is the factor you value so much - I still call it stupid.

Re: Celestial Steed
Nine people out of ten would say no and show it by continuing to buy the popcorn on returning visits.
Sorry, I had to edit in a justifying comment.

Anyway, I know you never compared it to charities but people have stated that, that would be a better use of money which is true. However we live in a materialistic world.
You go shopping downtown with your friends, aka, you play WoW and socialize. -Cost of bus, 3 or so pound.
Whilst downtown you buy some clothes, designer, you could easily get similar clothing for cheaper without the label. Aka, you buy the mount whilst socializing and playing the game as a factor of playing. - Cost of clothing, 30+ pounds.
It still isn't a waste of money, even if it is it's something that everyone does it therefore cease your judgement.
As I stated, you're not comparing like with like. I however have, twice now.

You are free to feel sorry for those poor sods or call it stupid. Just as I'm free to disregard the fact that you do. This is why it's utterly pointless to even discuss it any further since, like I said, you'll stick to your point of view and I'll stick to mineAndrek wrote:

John Bain(TB for you mongs who dont know him) is such a legend, I loved his rant on this ^______^
And seriously, I get so many laughs out of this.
And seriously, I get so many laughs out of this.
Sounds like someone is desperately trying to justify the purchase of their horse with some false equivalency there. 'Paying to play the game is exactly the same as paying almost twice the monthly subscription on a horse reskin!'. You're not fooling anyone.

Internet or not, I'd personally try to use a forum, a tool built for discussion, to debate on. Rather than just laugh at, well, pretty much anything.

Back to pixel argument.
By owning anything with a screen you pay for pixels.
*done*.
