Not the majority of the region, though the north may suffer from some plague damage, however ICly/Lore-wise the 7th Legion pushed out the Forsaken from Gilneas permanently - to our knowledge, so further plague application does not happen - for now.

It's all in the Worgen & Forsaken questlines, you need to do both to know what goes down.

There's a military leader representing the gilnean people in Gilneas, his name escaped me atm, big worgen dude with metal claws.

Thats Crowley. Plus he kind of agree to leave the city when Sylvanas offered his daughters life in exchange. But stuff happens, so it's kind of blurry... So right at the moment no one really knows much, other than there is kind of a stalemante.

As for the plague, since watered down version of it was used.. i guess it's more or less cleared at the moment.

But ya forsaken and worgen questlines are good to go through

It wasnt a plague they used it was blight. Blight isnt a plague rather a gas or an acid not a germ so it has prob killed the earth but likely rain and time has rendered it to a neutral PH.

I've found this on wowopedia, seems legit.

http://www.wowpedia.org/Lordaeron

It describes everything what happens in the north parts, including Gilneas. Plus a bit of the aftermath, although since it's wowopedia it's mostly speculations and so on, but a good source anyway.

It's pretty much considered a war zone, some areas remain under Forsaken Occupation, whilst others are considered held by ' The resistance '.
