also I just legged it across campus in a tshirt and a light jeans jacket in the freaking 5c cold I am so fucking bad ass man my nipples are really hard though but that's a plus if anything

the one thing I noticed here is that you guys have bugs EVERYWHERE. there are freaking giant xmen mutant mosquitos here like WTF and I left my window open for 2 seconds and this MASSIVE monster moth flew in. it's fucking crazy

Yeah we have moths and spiders, but nothing poisonous so dw. As it is the autumn it is also the season for the Scots and welsh tribesmen to try and raid our harvest, normally they dont get as far as Nottingham but be vigilant anyway.

There are poisonous (or venomous) spiders in the UK. And they do bite. I managed ages in the US without a single fucking Brown Recluse (our house was full of em) or Widow (camping is fun ya'll) bite. And came back to to the UK only to be bitten in my sleep by a spider. Probably some sort of sac spider (there wasn't much left after I woke to the pain) I've got a lovely scar on my knee from the bite where it went manky and necrotised. Admittedly they aint "local". But they live in the UK. So do False Widows and Tube Webs (both biters). Infact quite a few of our spiders bite. Most won't bother. But a lot of the ones in houses are special. Cos they have "lungs" or what we might call lungs. And that means they can run. Fast.

And the "mosquito" of size was probably a Daddy Long Long Legs (horrible things). Though we do get mosquitos. Malarial ones too (though very rare, the Norfolk Broads had Fen Fever due to them and there's some on the Underground).

Moths the size of your hand though, yeah. There's one here now, outside. Trying to fuck the window and eat my brain as I type this. And they're weird nasty buggers. Not horrible. But we don't have enough bats here to eat em all, like in my old house.

I'd be more worried about the fact you're actually living in Nottingham, which is nowhere near as cool as Robin Hood pretended it was. Mainly cos he wasn't real. And also cos it's horrible.
