[A] The Bláck Hand
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
In the gloomy harbor of abandoned Gilneas, a single sickly lantern flickers to life in a window.
Rumors spread of the tavern--its dimly-lit interior filled with men with shady gazes--once more opening, but why? The Gilneans have fled the land like rats, and now these men--rats of another sort, perhaps--slink back in. Those whose curiosity overwhelms them, those who risk a visit to the treacherous land, so close to the Forsaken front, claim that these men and women have staked a claim.
"As grim and determined as any Gilnean, but they're not all Gilneans themselves," the rumors say. "Not all even human, so I hear... They won't chase you off, but it sure seems like they've got somethin' to hide..."
***********
It seems that a strange group has sought a new home. Somewhere away from the scrutiny of Stormwind. Somewhere they can practice their shadowy crafts and share their knowledge in an uneasy peace. For now, Keel Harbor seems to have attracted these exiles, these miscreants, these outcasts and misfits, who lurk in the rainy darkness and speak in low tones before their fires. But who are they?
They are those who would defend this world at all costs... Those who would adhere to the teachings of their dark, mysterious master... They are those with open minds and strong spirits. And any so like-minded shall be welcomed into their ranks.
For it is not the magic that is inherently evil, no. It is the weak-willed who wield it who are the threat. And they will be eliminated.
***********
OOC:
Who We Are:The Black Hand is a guild focused on illegal/cultist RP, with the goal of defending Azeroth from various threats, by any means at our disposal. We hope to provide a home for those who dabble in darker things, or who care little for the law, as well as providing a small RP hub outside of Stormwind.
Who We Take: There are no class or race restrictions; essentially anyone who is open-minded enough to accept any type of magic, and any race, in our midst is welcome to join the guild--so long as they adhere to our beliefs, and obey the dark leadership. Note that as a cultist guild, members joining will be expected to commit for the long-term: it is an oathbound, secretive organization valuing loyalty above all else, and those wanting to simply abandon their new cause with the knowledge that they've gained may find it harder than expected.
Where To Find Us: The Black Hand is currently based in Keel Harbor, Gilneas. The place is illusioned to still look abandoned, and most of the buildings are warded against scrying attempts. There is a hidden fast-travel teleportation device--quite illegal--going from a tombstone in the Goldshire cemetery to the one just outside of Keel Harbor. Activating the tombstone with any type of magic will transport you, though you may find yourself a little woozy afterward--and sometimes, the teleportation doesn't go -quite- right. Knowledge of this transportation is circulating among the more unsavory groups in Stormwind society.
Anyone of a 'dark nature' is welcome to swing by the Keel Harbor tavern and visit; it will often be well-stocked and tended, the nearby buildings inhabited by shady folk--but troublemakers will be taking their lives into their own hands. (Or at least, they may be tossed out like drunks!)
Anyone NOT of a 'dark nature' is welcome to visit too, of course, though fine upstanding men of the Light might be met with a suspicious eye.
- PvP Notes:
- We're aware that Gilneas is possibly still quite contested ICly. Therefore a great focus of the guild will be on keeping the nearby area warded from scrying, as well as magically illusioned to appear abandoned from the outside. Guards will be posted, and frequent spy excursions sent into Forsaken lands to keep a close eye on the enemy. Preparations and practice in fighting smaller groups back, or evacuating from larger ones, will be put in place. OOCly, -please- turn off your TRP Tracking if you intend to visit us; there's plenty of OOC gankers who still use Alliance alts to seek out roleplayers in contested zones via the TRP map.
Final note: the Black Hand is not Alliance-loyal. We are neutral. We will not be pushing the front nor trying to fight Forsaken who don't attack us first; that isn't where our priorities lie. ICly, we have several Horde members; if you have an open-minded, neutral Horde character who wishes to seek us out IC, do feel free. We'll happily add you on battletag to try and make things simpler.
Guild Structure
The guild is led by the Hand and his Warden. Beneath them, the guild is then organized into sects. Each sect has a leader, their lieutentant, members and new initiates. These are not strict, and there is some overlap; for example a druid may serve as a scout for the Shadowstalkers, and aid the Guardians of Life as well. The sects are as follows:
- Click to Show/Hide Sects:
The Shadowstalkers
The Shadowstalkers are those who call stealth and subterfuge their weapons. They often travel to watch for hidden threats in this world, spying and investigating things that may later prove necessary to combat with force, or when possible, solving the issues with surgical strikes. They also remain in the shadows surrounding the cult itself, protecting the Hand from intruders and outside attacks, ready to sound the alarm and foil ambushes before the enemy reaches the cultist ranks. Sentries, scouts, sharpshooters and assassins will often call the Sentinel their mistress.
The Black Guard
When the Hand must confront its foes head-on, when subterfuge simply is not an option, then the General calls her troops, and to war they march. Full-scale assaults, the movement of the army of the Hand, and direction of the various wings of the Hand in a single battle are all controlled by the General. When the Hand or his Warden are not present in battle, the General will command. She is in charge of training the death knights and heavy fighters of the Hand for combat, both individual and as a unit; it is these handpicked warriors who will make up the bulk of the fighting force, known as the Black Guard.
The Weavers
The Weavers of magic stand in the shadows, wielding whatever powers they prefer in the interests of defending Azeroth. Be it necromancy, the arcane, shadow, fel magic, or even a non-magic specialty, these masters of their craft--and their trainees--stand among those who will unravel enemy magic, protect the Hand from magical attacks, and wield pure destructive force in battles against great threats. By their sides stand the scholars, the tinkers, the specialists of every kind--any who would serve the Hand's purpose, and who do not walk among the ranks of the others, stand among the Weavers to add their vast knowledge. Whether it is an intricately-woven arcane puzzle, a devastating shadow trap or a demon that must be banished, the expertise of the Weavers will be ready.
The Guardians of Life
The Guardians of Life focus not on damaging that which would destroy the world, but rather in healing that which has been damaged--to save against further loss. The Hand knows that it is not all about stopping attack, but rather also preventing the decay and loss that comes from an attack stopped too late. When the natural world is damaged, when shadow taints the people, when plague drifts through the city, the Guardians will be there. With Light, or the powers of nature or the shamans, the Guardians will tend to what has been harmed, and ensure that this world remains healthy--ready to confront any threat. Their Keeper leads and organizes them in this task, tending to their training and ensuring that they are protected and watched over at all times.
The Enforcers
The Enforcers are the death knights who keep a quiet, faithful watch on the Hand. They serve as guardians--not against threats without, but threats within. They watch the others for corruption of purpose, and keep a close eye on the mortal users of shadow and other dark magics. When rules are broken, when fights break out, when any Hand steps out of line, the Enforcers will be there to enforce the will of the Reaper and his Dog--or kill those who would resist. The Hand must remain pure in purpose above all else, and the Enforcer will always be watching to ensure that this is true.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Do not search for "The Black Hand." Search instead for:
The Bláck Hand or just "ck Hand."

I had a similiar dream once. A forsaken of mine who deemed himself the Prophet of Death. A project since long forgotten. But due to my own fancy on the subject -
Double thumbs up! And good luck!

I fear overly for the future life of Ariandra; I believe I will be hiding in a basement, but even then I have chosen to join this crazy gang on my own sort-of-evil character!

You can always make attempts but not always succeed, Attempts are just as fun! And...The Light always prevails!
Re: [A] The Bláck Hand
Oh of course, even when people consent to death, dosen't mean they let us. It just means if we get them into the situation where they would die they will. It's just because we don't abandon marks, once a mark has been made that tribute to the "God" has to be made one way or another, all very dark and grisley.

The Scourge rises in the north, soon we shall sweep across the land. Any who stands before us shall fall, undead or living, each of them shall fall before the might of the Scourge and serve the true king.
In any event, best of luck with it!

Re: [A] The Bláck Hand
I've sadly had to change it to "The Bláck Hand" due to the word "Black" not being allowed on WoW >_> I considered changing the name due to this, but couldn't think of anything as good in my opinion, and we will still just be "The Black Hand" IC.

I thought of both of them, but just didn't think either sounded as good, if you get what I mean? And ooc á was not really worth changing what I thought was a pretty well working guild name.

Re: [A] The Bláck Hand
Thought I'd post a passage from The Arcanum Sanctum.
Guild launched today.
I was quite happy with this one.
He sits, waiting for you.
Waiting for us all.
War charges forward, his red river flows.
Disease throws people into death throes.
Famine watches as they starve.
And all report to Death's laugh.
He is the solider with blade in hand.
The angry lover, heart gone bland.
The insane man, in the lonely street.
The mercenary staking up a gold streak.
The guard who didn't know what to do.
The disciple burning a man or two.
The guardians defending what they hold dear.
The old woman, her scream loud and clear.
The young boy, lost and alone.
The heretic not ready to atone.
The wizard, eyes alight.
They all report to death tonight.

Re: [A] The Bláck Hand
Ran into Anivitas IC and entirely at random today. I know OOCly who he is, of course, so I must say I was terrified.
I won't go into details--can't spoil it this early on--but it was loads of fun, absolutely scary as all hell, and very, very well-played.
Then again, anything that winds up with wounded Blades on lockdown in the Garrison overnight for their own safety... is probably awesome. (Thank you for the slumber party, DoL!)
Very much looking forward to seeing how The Black Hand plays out.
(p.s. I would like to say, the Blades for Hire's first word to the Black Hand, via Feral, was quite literally "Hi." It somehow did not inspire friendliness )

Re: [A] The Bláck Hand
Ah so thats what happened to Feral, we were too busy doing /roll in Sentinel Hill so we got our backside handed to us by "Defias Elites" then we had to fall back to the garrison.
Very interesting, i wonder where the Black Hand shall strike next.
I'd stayed longer after, but i had DCs every 5 min, was not fun.
