Demon Hunter looking for something to hunt! (Or any RP for that matter...)

Yo!

So this rogue of mine is a Demon Hunter. True to the concept, he's a misunderstood good guy, though he's pretty much a demon - has no eyes (and thus his normal sight is highly damaged and beyond repair), he has a furry, crimson tail with a spike and fel tattoos. Any priest can sense him from 50 meters away.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the character himself I find it difficult to get myself in RP. Could you guys recommend an event or a guild? I'm sick of standing on rooftops and casually dropping once in a while to say something cheasy and unrelated.

Additionally, I have a feeling that people cannot take me seriously... which is depressing.

Atheramis is banned from the Stormwind area, though he has his secret reasons for being there (looking for some family that thinks he's dead).

Looking for friends, allies, enemies, prey, good demons, bad demons, people with fel magic related problems and things like that.

A demon hunter is a very difficult concept to grasp. You'll have to be extremely modest with your RP and take into account that you're playing something a lot stronger than other people, so to be leniant and respectful of others.

I will ask an obvious question, this is a Night Elf, right? Just the bringing up of Stormwind confused me.

Atheramis is a human. He has been a demon hunter for 25 years and is not that powerful at all - contraire - He's less powerful then he was when he was human. Like I said, he has problems with his sight. If a need for him to fight does occur he will attempt to intimidate his oponent, if that fails, he'll attempt to persuade him (Ather can't use any magic but he can see it). If that fails he'll fight. If that fails as well he'll run .
Bottom line is, if someone does not wish to fight a powerful creature we can always roll. Though I intend to get in as little battles as possible.

I'm not RPing a powerful guy - I'm RPing a human that made a couple of choices that people will say are wrong. He will aim to prove them wrong.
Additionally, Ather is a good guy and unfortunately was very young(25ish) when he had his soul swapped (kinda). He still has the morality of a youngster with a fiery wrath and is scared of that fact. As to why exactly - look below

Forgot to mention, Ather might become as powerful as the cool demon hunters in 10 000 years. Too bad humans only go up to 90. Ather is a bad-ass. He might make it to 100.

Now that I think about it, he's pretty much going to self destruct with all those fel energies so it's doubtful he'll make it more then 10ish more years.

I did a little reading up on this and I've read that Demon Hunters are shunned from the Alliance and the Horde alike. This limits you heavily to what guild you can join. I mean, something like the Cartel could suit you but at the same time... would your character be comfortable around people like that after taking the sacrifice to become a Demon-Hunter

He (and I) would never team up with people like the Cartel.
Maybe I'm aiming too high with wanting to join a guild. What about enemies? The Chapter would want to kill him and there's little chance for him to avoid the pyre. Anyone else would just throw apples at him

Why dont you try the outlands rpers. Thelos, Drubes, Skarain and all your favs are on same time every time mostly in shattrath))

Drustai and Atheramis know eachother. And they don't like eachother But I think we can both live with a few hisses once in a while.

But still, I wanna get mixed up with the SW community. Though if you'll have me once in a while I'll be most grateful. You won't be sorry!

well outland is demon filled. Plus he need not live in shattrath but atleast he can bump into you in a place where he has ic right to be.

I do keep my head down And if brai brai is Braiden Mistmantle then I don't think he'll kill Ather the first several times without my approval. Dood's cool IMO.

If I do reach that point where it's either die or live I'll leave SW for good. This char is my oldest one. He's like... my own personal Aragorn or Harry Potter...

Nature's Grasp have very recently accepted an ex-demon hunter into our ranks, but again it was a very controversial topic and not one so many people felt compelled to welcome with open arms. Considering NG are a very 'traditional' Order and still repel the Death Knights with absolute hatred we at least understand the importance of the Demon Hunters of the past.

Of course we'd never let a human character join us, but I don't think the Demon Hunter 'class' is totally unplayable, but I guess you're not playing one an 'actual' Demon Hunter? (In the same way it's established I believe that Gilnean Druidism is very different from that of the Elves and the Tauren).

I wish you the best of luck with this character! Just don't have him run in with Arkil or Ma'rao.

Well yes, he's not the typical demon hunter. He didn't make a pact with a demon. He requested a demon hunter(tricked him into) replacing his human soul with that of a demon. However, the Demon hunter made a mistake and failed to extract the existing soul before implanting the new one. Thus, you can magine a hairy horned Satyr gripping a Human by the throat as the human has his own throat. This is kinda what Ather is 90% of the time.

IMO, elves should kinda be the only normal community that should accept him. They would understand his sacrifice and keep in mind that after he dies his soul will never be free from the gasp of the demon - such was the deal

This alone should represent some of the greater problems with playing a Demon Hunter and why you wouldn't be very welcome in any city or such.

My warlock could find use for him, being a demon hunter. But be noted that not all things that he does are within the law.

Ya.. Keep thinking that way, most druid rpers hate you 10 fold. And any religious ones would too. Elves even more, as once stated in their belief that if corrupted they should take their own life (Was something to do with becoming DKs).

If you want rp find non-judgmental people or darker characters (Shadow users, warlocks, Dks, criminals etc.)

Noooo, that is the problem with being a Demon-Hunter. You're hated by Elves, Alliance and Horde - all forces that we usually rp would dislike you. Very few agree with the sacrifice. But Warlocks etc? A demon-hunter would kill Warlocks as part of his duty. That is what he stands for. Murdering demons and draining their essence to fight more demons.

Your best bet is Shattrath, as Lex said. I'd try them.

I'm afraid that while the Draenei and especially the Naaru are known for their tolerance, the concept of Demon Hunters would probably be abominable to Draenei society.

The whole "Fight fire with fire" philosophy of Demon Hunters is something the Draenei people will never be able to accept, being as they themselves are just a tiny sip of Fel away from being Eredar Demon Lords of the Burning Legion. They have been fighting the Legion for milennia, and will not start making compromises with Fel after having suffered trough all of that.

Accepting demonic gifts? Turns the skin red.

Fel poisoning? Mutates you in to an abomination.

The last time a group of Draenei started dabbling with Fel magics and comrpomisng with Demons, (The Auchenai Priesthood) they were all brutally massacred by the Sha'tar, who were lead by A'dal, who is currently lording over Shattrath.

The "Sacrifice" of which you speak would most likely be seen as either a "Betrayal" when it comes from one of their own, or something that is incredibly naive, stupid and misguided when it comes from the other races.

The only way I can see a Demon Hunter work with roleplaying with the Draenei/Outland gang is if he were to give up on Fel and try to redeem himself and purge himself from his Demonic taint.

Your best bet is Shattrath, as Lex said. I'd try them.

No, executing refugees like that is not Shattrath's style. That's not how A'dal rolls.

They are more likely to take him in and desperately try to get him to lay off the Fel.

...Basicly they will take you in, be disgusted and abhored at the state your soul is in, and try to put you in rehab.

I definately feel that they won't be too keen to accept and allow you to practise the Fight fire with fire policy. They won't allow you to use Fel, even at their behest. They will likely accept you as a poor, beaten-down refugee. A victim of the Legion. Like a Lost One or a Broken.

Basicly what I am trying to say is that Shattrath is the ultimate Naaru city. They will take in every one, no matter their background, even Demons, as long as they are looking to reform and put their Demonic history behind them. Once it is obvious that the so-called refugees have no intention of giving up on their Felsworn ways, though, in true Draenic fashion, their tolerance and compassion will turn into something horrible, and they will smite you down for it.

For a good example of how a Demon Hunter might operate in Outland, you can take a look at Altruis the Sufferer, a character that looks to be obviously operating at the edges of society, and looking like he's not exactly accepted with the Sha'tar. That grude is probably very ones-sided, as the guy does not seem to hold any grudges against the Sha'tar, but he doesn't really look like he'll fit in Shattrath either.

I guess what I am trying to say is that while Shattrath won't ever downright reject you and execute or banish you, I don't think they will be endorsing Demon Hunters to hunt demons for them, either. If you want to hunt demons in Outland, I'm afraid you will likely have to do it behind the Sha'tar's back. Sort of like a Demon Hunting vigilante, I suppose.
