Inside the Irondawn Clan by Kregar Darkhammer


The Irondawn Clan is a well known dwarven supremacist clan that has been present in Ironforge politics since the very early days. Said to have come from the very caverns of Uldum the clan is comprised of a variety of dwarves, the power of the Irondawn clan has fallen dramatically after the death of Gogol Irondawn, the chubby proud cigar smoking dwarf whom stood as the Senator of War and dominated the Senate with his charisma and ability to manoeuvre loyal followers into influential positions. His presence on the Senate ensured a subtle but present conflict between Ironforge and other political entities, namely in Stromgarde and Stormwind with whom the valiant dwarf held quarrels with. His position was constantly kept up by his friendships with high ranking officials in Ironforge, whom all became his friends and in turn either rose higher or received further patronage from Gogol.

Some considered the death of Gogol Irondawn a blessing as relations thawed and the constantly alert forces of Ironforge, Stormwind and Arathor relaxed for the first time since Gogol’s rise. Many officials were sacked due to their inability to maintain their positions, as well as the huge loss of Gogol whom had his fingers in every aspect of society. Gogol remained the Irondawn in the spotlight, while in reality many of his relatives also stood in quiet powerful positions. Vesilie Irondawn, lieutenant-captain of the army and now Senatorial Intelligence agent has been the “under the table” connection with Ivahn Goldfinger, the director of possibly the most powerful body in Ironforge, carrying the ability to even dissolve the Senate itself in the name of the Kingdom. This careful positioning allowed Gogol to practically determine the positions of the Senate to his liking as those opposing him would have faced bitter opposition from both the army and the intelligence agency, which unofficially answered to him.

After the death of Gogol Irondawn there was a change in the stance Ironforge undertook, the political position softened and the Senate lost a very powerful orator whom was capable of pushing other ambassadors and diplomats into positions that above all else favoured Ironforge, the Irondawn clan lost the spotlight completely and almost went quiet until the sudden re-emergence of Arkadii Irondawn, the older cousin of Gogol whom decided that Ironforge again needs an Irondawn at the helm.

Arkadii Irondawn has served in the military for roughly fifty years achieving the rank of Major before retiring to aid his Clan in the ram breeding business. His success in economics and the rise of the Clan’s fame in the ram breeding market can be partially attributed to Arkadii’s ability to haggle and naturally remove his competition. As the Senator for Trade and Treasury his Clan’s business has tripled in size and doubled in size, naturally “for the good of the state”. Arkadii Irondawn has also successfully befriended several key figures in the Senate, the military and the Intelligence agency, granting him a large amount of power within Khaz Modan and even more influence on both internal and external policy of the Kingdom.

Arkadii Irondawn is a cunning and ruthless dwarf with both self-interest and extreme nationalism at heart, his methods are unheard of in the rings he traverses, making him an extremely dangerous political opponent both inside the Kingdom and outside, the close connection to the Intelligence agency has turned out to be something hereditary as his frequent visits to the Director seem to raise a few eyebrows. As the new Senator of Trade and Treasury a large amount of ranking officials in charge of the economic management of Khaz Modan have been removed, several Irondawn clan members as well as Irondawn-loyalists have been appointed to the newly opened positions, creating a pyramid like structure, all loyal to Arkadii Irondawn.

I write this report to unfold the truth behind the Irondawn Clan and reveal them for the despots and leeches they are.

You wake up to hear the morning choir of hammers banging on anvils and the hustle and bustle of traders and merchants as they scurry around the Commons of Ironforge. You walk onto your balcony, stretch your arms and reach for a nearby ale pick-me-up when you notice that your house has been defaced with the following.
