Re: Family Recruition Thread
Wulong-Heavenblaze family
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Hailing from the harsh and unforgiving steppes of Kun Lai, both the Wulong and Heavenblaze family have lived under the patronage of the White Tiger since time memmorial.
Wulong
The Wulong family is one of the largest pandaren families that make their home in the harsh plains of Kun Lai. Having lived under the patronage of the White Tiger and the protection of the Shado-pan for so long, the Wulongs have developed strong ties with the Shado-pan. Amongst some branches it has become customary to send the youngest child or children that are not needed directly on the farm to serve upon the wall. Those are a minority, however, as most Wulongs live the tranquil life of farmers, yak-herders and tradefolk.
Family traits:
Alignment: True Neutral
Physical and/or character traits:
- Played Family Members -
Paozi Wulong
Age/status: Old.
Profession/family position: Unmarried.
Relation to head or close family: Second-to-youngest son of the main branch family.
Alignment: True Neutral (Shado-pan)
Character description: Paozi Wulong was a restless youth and, not being particularily needed on the farm, was send to the wall by his father when he came of age. He embraced his duties with zeal, and was barely found returning home afterwards. When he did return on leave though, he was sure to make an impression, as he returned with exotic gifts from beyond the wall and many strong tales to tell.
When Paozi's fur had long since turned gray, he suffered a chronic injury that made him unfit for service, and he was honorably discharged. Not feeling he was fit for the life of a farmer, Paozi joined the order of Yu'lon and spend some years as a humble groundskeeper.
However, recent events have brought Paozi out of retirement. The old Shado-pan veteran returned one day to the Monestary and demanded his uniform back; nobody would question his wish, and he was given his black back. Paozi now spends most of his time watching what is on the "right" side of the wall, keeping a close eye on the Alliance, Horde; and most of all, his niece.
- Unplayed Family Members -
Pa&Ma Wulong (deceased)
Character description: Pao's poppa and momma. He doesn't like talking about them.
Aiguo Wulong
Character description: Pao's oldest brother and current head of the family. Happily married with many children, living a life of prosperity somewhere in the plains of Kun Lai on their farm that has been miraculously spared by the Yaungol invasion.
Heavenblaze
Heavenblaze is an obscure family that began with successive generations of successful caretakers responsible for shrines and mediation with the spirits of nature and the ancestors. Perhaps the ancestral favor has run out, or the talents failed to manifest in the new generation, but the Heavenblaze family was forced to first abandon its spiritual duties and later give up the upkeep of the shrines and finally retreated to a small farm in Kun-lai.
Family traits:
• Mostly brown-red fur.
• Long tails
• Blue or dark eyes
• A little more stoic than your average southern pandaren due to living in the harsher northern lands.
• Dusty legacy of shamanism
• Heavenblaze is a small family, failing to produce extensive branches and in some cases barely managing to pass the name.
Family Alignment norm:
True Neutral.
Suon Heavenblaze
Age/status: mature
Profession/family position: second child, formerly Caravan guard, now Alliance soldier
Relation to head or close family: matrilineal Wulong side-branch, primary Heavenblaze branch. Sister to eldest Heavenblaze.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Character description: Suon was meant for marriage and simple life, just as her older brother was meant to inherit the yak-farm. For reasons known to her alone, she instead turned to the Caravan guards protecting the grummle trains in high passes and keeping the caravan stations and bazaars orderly. When the Heavenblaze yak-farm was raided and destroyed by the Yaungol, Suon and her elder brother were rescued by Admiral Taylor and brave Alliance adventurers who rallied the survivors in Westwind Rest. Since then Suon pledged her allegiance to the Alliance force in Pandaria.

The Kaysen Family
Family traits: The Kaysen family is a Gilnean family with a mix of both human and worgen. A unknown number of family-members left Gilneas before the wall was finished, and many remained. A few of the members that remained in their home managed to avoid the curse during the Cataclysm, and thus there are even few younger humans amungst the family. The Kaysen is a large family, and thus there is a bit of everything in it - rich, poor or workers. There are many Light-worshippers and even a few of alternative beliefs. There are both good and evil members of the family, both alignments and choices of careers vary a lot. The ginger gene is strong in the family, and thus almost all Kaysen-born members are pale skinned, red haired with green eyes and freckles. A few traits can vary, such as eyecolors.
Family Alignment norm - Neutral
-
- Played Family Members -
Addelaide Kaysen- Crowley, Addelaide is a woman of 31 years of age. She worked at Crown Street Osteopathy in Gilneas before the Cataclysm. To this day she is a Doctor of Osteopathy and works now in Stormwind City. Addelaide lost her family in the turmoils of the curse outbreak and the Cataclysm, not knowing wether her three children (two daughters and one son) and husband survived or not (these four characters are open for others to roleplay). Therefore she never speaks of this as it is one of her greatest worries and sadness not knowing if they survived or not. Addelaide was very close to the family-members she knew, and would be very happy to hear of any surviving relatives. Addelaide is a neutral woman, and has never really been put in a situation as of yet where she had to make her mind up about what side to choose.
(Addelaide is by no means related to Lord Darius or his family. The name Crowley is her husbands name, nor he is related to the Darius family. The name Crowley is simply a somewhat "common" Gilnean surname)

Sally, your recent post was Human or High Elven? Just so I know, I'm guessing Human but I though I'd make sure.
also added update on the front page, and added all but Sally's family.
Going to update the Coppersockets soon(ish) again. Thanks Arabella for reminding me.

However, this only need to be applied to any NEW posts, nothing old, as it's naturally already applied.Update 3, added the [ color=black], the reason for this is that I need to add it to make your quotes black anyway, so if you could add this onto your own posts at the very beginning and at the end, it'd save a little bit of time.

Re: Family Recruition Thread
I recommend on a realm forum version that you have people just post theirs separately and only link to their post in the thread.
Realm forum has EXTREMELY small word counts for posts. You will not be able to fit everyone's in one, and would probably need to reserve at least 5+ posts, or more. Best to make an initial introduction post and ask people to post, and then edit in links to each one in the first post.

(The stuff within ( ) can be edited out if having trouble fitting into one post)
The Blackforge Clan
Family traits:
Mixed bland of Dwarves. Anyone who wanted to join their exodus to the Wetlands around the time for the Civil War were welcome to do so. (This explains the great variety of skincolours and sizes among the clanmembers).
------------------
Tolerance. Due to the great variety of Dwarves from different clans and cultures, they have to develop a great sense of tolerance and respect for others. (Some ingame classes are however frowned upon, such as Warlocks and Death Knights. Mages are tolerated but barely so, since the arcane arts are still recently introduced to the clan).
------------------
While a mixed clan, they supported the Council of the Three Hammers as soon as the idea got presented. While mourning the petrified King Magni, they are also happy to see that the clans are trying to show up as a united front rather than splintered factions, putting their hopes into the heir of both Bronzebeard and Dark Iron origin for a lasting union.
------------------
While the leaders of the clan are often dressed in fine clothing, nothing prevents them from getting their hands dirty in physical work. (The thanes of old has been rather conservative and preferred to craft weapons and armour to defend their clan, while the current one likes to dig for artifacts and explore).
------------------
The one thing that marks the Blackforge founding family is the slightly grey/blackish skin, since they've only married with Bronzebeard/Dark Iron Dwarves to keep a connection with their past.
The Blackforge clan accepts Dwarves who wants to bolster the numbers of the clan after an interview with the thane Cyrik Blackforge. Questions of your past will be asked, but if accepted nothing will be spread.
Family Alignment norm - Neutral Good
- Played Family Members -
Lord Cyrik Blackforge (Cyrík) - Neutral Good
Thane of Blackforge clan and current Chancellor of Khaz Modan Senate. (Being a political player for years, this Dwarf knows his way around the tricky corners of politics within and outside the regions of Khaz Modan. However, he keeps letting his personal principles get the better of him, putting him in danger at times).
Captain Cid Blackforge (Cìd) - Lawful Neutral
Captain of the Ironforge Guard. Loyal, big and strong. (If you need brute strenght, he's your Dwarf. Always obeying orders from higher-ups may cause some moral dilemmas however).
Falrim Blackforge (Falrim) (Not my character, but mentioning him here since he's an active member of the clan).

While a lot more barebone, here's the realm forum thread.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Far less organized, but that's a sacrifice I have to make.
(This got taken off sticky?
It's still very much relevant)

The Jericho family
Shortly put:
The Jericho's bloodline all have fierce warriors and soldiers, all they way down to their current members.
Darius Jericho, the current head of the family sits at his estate looking over his and his deceased wife's house and and their son Jonathan who abandoned his position in the family to pursue the woman he loved, Maria from the Avareau family who were a high standing family of nobility whom saw the Jericho's as not fit for their daughter Maria.
The two eloped and managed to find a farm where they could start their own family, the Jericho name was still a proud name to bare despite them leaving their respective families behind, so their children all bear the name of Jericho. Even after the marriage of Jonathan and Maria she still keeps her name Avareau as her maiden name.
Neither of the two has cut complete contact with their families, but they are not seen upon as nobles nor do they tell that they are.
Family traits:
-Black, brown or red hair.
-Green or brown eyes.
-The family virtues taught from birth to guide the next generation: Loyalty, justice and having an iron will to overcome.
-Stubborn and strong people.
(All families have their black sheep though)
- Played Family Members -
Charles D. Jericho(Jerìcho), son of Jonathan and Maria and their first born.
Alyanah Victoria Avareau(Alyà), sister of Maria Velaira Avareau Jericho.
- Unplayed Family Members -
Darius Jericho, father of Jonathan, grandfather of Charles, Matthew, James and Veronica.
Alianora Avareau, mother of Maria Velaria Avareau Jericho.
Jonathan D. Jericho, father to Charles, Matthew, James and Veronica, married to Maria Velaria Avareau Jericho.
Maria Velaria Avareau Jericho, mother to Charles, Matthew, James and Veronica, married to Jonathan.
Matthew Jericho, second oldest of the litter.
James Jericho, second youngest.
Veronica Jericho, the youngest and only daughter.
((Possible offspring from these siblings as the backstory is still rather open))

The Cinderbeard Clan
A formerly large and influental clan that over the last centuries has lost numerous clansmen and much of its position, Clan Cinderbeard is a more loosely-tied group than most dwarven clans. The clan's name itself being a remninder of its many defeats, the typical Cinderbeard clansman does not announce his presence with pride like other dwarves of more honorable standing would. Thus the Cinderbeards often spend their years travelling among other peoples so that they can forget the shame of the past.
Family Traits
Dwarves of the Bronzebeard variety, with a wide range of looks and features.
--
Generally more forthcoming towards other races than dwarves normally would be expected to.
--
Tend to avoid dwarven politics and interaction with dwarves that aren't already in their inner circles, but act respectfully when they have to.
--
Mostly seen as less talented than average, although it is unclear whether this is due to lack of ambition or actual lack of skills.
--
Cinderbeards are not unknown to have watered-down accents.
--
(By the DND-definitions that the other clans seem to have posted here: Clan Cinderbeard is usually Chaotic Neutral, though individual members lean more towards CG and CE. This is not a major point for the clan, and can be ignored if the RPer wishes)
Played family members:
The last known leader of the Cinderbeards has not been seen for a long time, after a quick descent from hedge alchemist to potion addict prior to this. It is assumed he might not miraculously make it back after this disappearance.

Re: Family Recruition Thread
Apologies for posting after two years of inactivity, but I assume that the thread still has some relevance due to its status as a sticky.
Family traits:
The most distinguishable feature of a Manaspark is the bright pink hair shared by near enough every family member. Other than this, grey-blue eyes and pale skin are common traits, but not necessarily required.
The family is largely made up of mages, tinkerers and merchants, although there would be exceptions to this rule, such as Edwald caring little about magic or engineering. Some may also choose to work in all three of these areas, or even dabble in darker magics. Despite this, there are no notable Manaspark warriors or nobles, certainly none who still choose to use the family title.
Manasparkian names often begin with the prefix "Ed-" (Edwin, Edwald) and may sound somewhat more like human names, particularly with the younger generations of the family. Like any gnome, if a Manaspark achieves something of great significance or importance, they may wish to choose a more fitting last name.
Family Alignment:
Given the fact that most gnomes are allied with the Alliance, most Manasparks support it - this, however, is not a necessary trait. The fact that most of the family remains in Dalaran also leads to many being allied with the Kirin Tor, although Jaina Proudmoore's treatment of Sin'dorei may have persuaded several Manasparks to leave.
The family has owned "The Manaspark Organisation" for several generations, some Dwarven historians speculate that the trade group was around long before the gnomish race became known to the dwarves. Until recently, the Organisation was an entirely peaceful group only intending to trade with others - this was until young Edwin established Manaspark's Army, a less pacifistic organisation derived from the original. Of course, the original group still exists in Dalaran, with most of the family's members helping to run it.
Played family members:
Edwin Manaspark - Fairly young mage, founder of Manaspark's Army. Considered an enemy of the Stormwind Council.
Edwald Manaspark III - Mercenary and part-time tradesman, cares little for the family traditions. Has grown to hate his brother Edwin after his founding of the Army.
Unplayed family members:
Edwald Manaspark II - Fairly powerful mage of the Kirin Tor, father of Edwin and Edwald III
Lobellia Manaspark - Fellow mage of the Kirin Tor, mother of Edwin and Edwald III
The Manaspark dynasty continues much further, with a fair few Manasparks having second, third, fourth or fifth cousins.
The Manaspark Family

Re: Family Recruition Thread
As far as I am aware, Coppersocket does not play WoW actively anymore, or at least involve with Roleplaying that much (I might be wrong ofc).
If you Edwin would feel like taking over hosting the thread, you can make a new thread about Family Trees and I'll make it sticky for you.

Don't see anything wrong with taking over the thread. I'll create a new one now.

Alright. Un-stickied this one and made the new one sticky instead.
Don't forget to post your own Family Tree in the new thread.

Re: Family Recruition Thread
You'd be correct. I don't actively play WoW (I have my warrior's account still active, but I don't really play it), and I've put roleplaying semi-permanently behind me. (There are exceptions where I'll RP for a few minutes)Skarain wrote:As far as I am aware, Coppersocket does not play WoW actively anymore, or at least involve with Roleplaying that much (I might be wrong ofc).

On top of that, this thread is severely out of date.
