Photowedge family can be taken down, due to the fact Hermione no longer is partially-insane and thinking she's 'Small'.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Family Recruition Thread
High elf Family
Family name: House Brightvale or House Blightwind
Head of House: By right of succession, Victoria Brightvale: now Vectoria of Blightwind.
House lands: formerly areas of Greater Eversong, currently known as The Ghostlands, the lands are considered in limbo considering the current state of the area.
House Symbol: A golden effeminate mask ornate with red and orange leaves.
Relations with other noble families: Lessers nobles of the old Silvermoon City. No political power.
Traits: Other then appearance, family members share a few key traits that get passed from parent to child, be they High elf or Half Elf.
Hunting is common place and as soon as a child can run and play they are encouraged to explore the woodlands and learn to survive amongst it. Hunting for sport is also encouraged.
Brightvale children stick together, and it wasn't uncommon to see an older cousin defending it's younger relative after a Half-elf slur was used against them.
Many of them were Farstriders, but there was an un-spoken rule that no half elf could ever join the ranks of the Farstriders, this has caused strife and disagreement between the House for generations.
A mistrust of magic or rather an eagerness to be independent of it. By nature it's chaotic and the last thing you need as a Huntsmen is a factor out of your control.
Annual hunting celebrations, once a year. A day would be spent hunting the wildlife and the Brightvale that came back with the most impressive kill would have bragging rights all year long, the evening was spent drinking and dancing, non-family members were invited also and this was also an important time to arrange marriages with other houses and sometimes favored humans: Victoria's parents were betrothed during a Great Hunt and Tahrial has won two of these.
Heroism and the spirit of adventure, very few Brightvales lived normal lives and exploring the world was encouraged.
History: The house was formed over twenty generations ago, lifted to noble status after three siblings within the Brightvale bloodline proved themselves to be vigilant defenders of the Thalassian people, each sister was given commanding status as a Farstrider Captain and granted dominion over the thicker woodlands of the area known as ' Greater Eversong '.
However over the centuries the children of these three sisters, and the children of those children dwindled down to little more then huntsmen and forest dwellers. The House was infamous for mixing blood with humans and often shunned amongst more elite circles of Nobles.
During the Scourge invasion most of the family were either killed or raised as undead, the few survivors rejected the way of the Sin'dorei and fled to Stormwind city, in the past year four members of the house have vanish, with one being discovered a midst the city's canals: throat ripped out and face violently removed. The matter is still currently being investigated by SI:7.
Family alignment: The very few living relatives are all within the Alliance, either High elf or Half elves all with some sort of connection to the hunt and or more atheletic ways of life, though a few can be considered Scholars, the family isn't known for magic users.
The even fewer undead relatives would most likely be ' living ' under a different name either within The Forsaken or an independant faction like the scourge, just like their living counterparts however they would favor the bow or a set of blades.
Appearance: Due to there close proximity to the border of Quel'thalas many Brightvales bred with the nearby humans and some even married off into human society, many Brightvales in The Alliance are half elves: to the point where there is an enough ratio between mixed bloods and pure bloods.
lien
They tend to be tall, pale of skin and fair of hair with strong jaws and elegent features.
Known members:
Victoria Blightwind(undead), a Forsaken Deathstalker who is renown for her vindictive nature and effeciency when carrying out assignments, she's had dealings with The Cult of Shadow but remains a free agent serving loosely under The Banshee Queen, she once held sway in The Undercity but the strength in her voice was lost after a mix up with The Prophet Antistia, she favors traveling. She is currently wanted by SI:7 for the murder of a Diplomat, a high elf who formerly spoke out against House Brightvale and it's disappointing tendencies with mixing blood. Victoria is mixed blood: A half elf.
Personality: Determined/vindictive, Killer/talented, traitorous/independent. True neutral.
Enjoys the seedy little corners of Azeroth and has been known to take difficult contracts: by they for a kill or even theft, she isn't afraid to splurge her winnings on fancy steeds or clothes either.
Vaesandra Brightvale(open to play), Scout and one of the closest living relative to Blightwind, she is currently stationed within The Plaguelands and offers her services to The Argent Dawn, her and her cousin have had a few run ins: most involve her trying to talk The Deathstalker around and welcome her into The Dawn they often finish with clashed blades and ' agreeing to disagree ' tactical retreats.
Personality: Diplomatic/Fickle, Good-intentioned/Feeble, Hopeful/Ignorant. Lawful good.
Fond of her quiet time and wandering amongst the trees, she learn't to fight because she needed to and doesn't particularly enjoy hunting. Doesn't believe in intimidation or dirty tricks.
Tahrial Brightvale(open to play) Female High elf currently working for The Kingdom of Stormwind and more directly SI:7, she is an avid Quel'dorei supporter within The Alliance and stands by her distrust of The Undead and Sin'dorei, she is the oldest sister to Vaesandra and the other living relative to Blightwind, she has had her own scuffles with the Deathstalker, but does not consider the forsaken in anyway shape or form, still her cousin: She has severely wounded Victoria in the past and is one of the few agents of SI:17 that have survived an encounter. She considers her younger sister to be naive and a danger to herself, she also isn't fond of The Argent Dawns neutrality and it's ignorance to how truely dangerous The Forsaken are and The Horde is as a whole.
Personality: Pious/Zealous, Wise/Bitter, Vigilant/Final. Chaotic good.
She enjoys hunting deer and collecting furs from the wildlife, her home has quite a few trophies lying around. She doesn't particularly anything unless it involves competition or some sort of reward. Understands the need to play dirty whilst combating The Horde.

If we could some how make it a joint effort, that'd be cool.
I'd happy to write the Father's history, Annabelle's and about The Shop.

Sure I can do that, we can compile the segments into a document and then post them on the forums. I'd happily write up Mikhael and the trio's mother, along with the Druidic side of the family line.

Re: Family Recruition Thread
Family Name: Emberstone, The Storwind Bloodline
Played Family Member: Annabelle Emberstone
Played Family Member: Saphra Emberstone
Non-played Family Member: Alfred Emberstone
- Spoiler:
- Disclosure: This is a collection of infomation based off the Stormwind side of the Family, details and history of Alfred Emberstone, The Father of The Emberstone Siblings.
Family traits: Plain features, olive to dark skin and dark hair. Favour academic paths in life or philosophical approaches, a history of bone fragility and asthma.
Family Alignment: Originating from Stormwindian and Dalaranian blood the Emberstone family gained their name for their fondness for magical artifacts and they're affinity for the study of the mystical arts. Although fascinated by the supernatural and the energies that flow outside our reality, most Emberstones always held loyalty towards The Alliance, many have held considerably important roles within academic circles as: Researchers, explorers and even Archaelogists, a handful have even served as Arch-mages.
Played Family Member: Annabelle Emberstone
- Spoiler:
- Position: Eldest of The Siblings, Older Sister to both Saphra and Mikhael Emberstone
Description: Being the first born to a prestigious mage carries it's guarantees: Magic will always be a part of your life, this was incredibly true for Annabelle. She has always shared her fathers curiosity and deep fascination with the arcane, even when she didn't share his natural connection to it. Her childhood was filled with study and countless lessons from her father, she was his right-hand daughter.
It was fate that he would hand down his staff, his enchanting shop and all his knowledge to her, in many respects she is his legacy and shares many of her southern fathers view. She considers the worgen curse, nothing more then what it name implies, a sickness that ripped a part her home.
Personality: Calm/Removed, Thoughtful/Opinionated, Traditional/Narrow-minded, Kind/Over-baring.
Played Family Member: Saphra Emberstone
- Spoiler:
- Position: Youngest sibling
Description: Saphra is the youngest Emberstone. Unlike her siblings, she never really found a place within the family's magical background. Though she initially tried to learn--both her father's arcane magic and her mother's druidic arts--she found both difficult and so gave up quickly. She was instead relegated to various less cerebral activities, helping at home and in the family shop with domestic chores.
Without the same direction the other siblings had, Saphra ended up becoming a vagabond and ultimately falling to crime. This has caused several rifts in the family, especially since she has occasionally stolen from them when she needed coin.
Saphra was the first of the family to become a worgen, and was feral for many weeks. This has left her traumatized of the bestial aspects of the curse, and while she is more accepting of the change than Annabelle, she has become terrified of any form of violence as a result.
Personality: Skittish, shy, quiet, cowardly, non-aggressive, lacking self-confidence, uncharismatic, kind, forgiving, greedy.
Non-played Family Member: Alfred Emberstone
- Spoiler:
- Position: Father (deceased)
Description: Alfred was born in a middle-class family in Elywnn Forest, he was invited to The Mage Tower of Stormwind at a young age after showing great prowess to a traveling Conjurer.
Once he had came of age and he had learn't all he could from books, Alfred ventured out to see the world and spent most of his adult life traveling and exploring what Azeroth to offer.
At the age of fourty-five he was captured by Forest Trolls and kept a slave for three years, after freeing himself from his oppressors he ventured to Gilneas for a normal life and bought the hand of a young woman: after purchasing her Father's farm.
His begrudging young wife soon began to show great fondness towards him and even though her more druidic views clashed with his logical and scientific way of thinking, they soon were with child and had two budding businesses, The Enchanting Shop set up by Alfred and his wife's farm.
Death: Alfred passed due to sickness once his oldest daughter had turned twenty-one, three years later Gilneas fell.

The Darkmist Family
The Darkmist family is sometimes referred to as the Darkmist Syndicate or the Darkmist Retinue due to the high amount of members. Back in the old days before the Cataclysm the family was full of thieves, smugglers and criminals but after gilneas was evacuated only Theromin and Larnira were left. It can be listed as a High Elf family

Theromin Darkmist- A gilnean berserk, Larnira's dad. His position is unknown ICly
Liliana Darkmist- A Gilnean Druid, Theromin's sister which studied in Darnassus and came back to Stormwind a few weeks ago
Family History
Long long ago there lived two people, those people were Elina and Alor Darkmist, they met eachother in very unusual circumstances as they tried to kill eachother. There was only one reason for it... greed! While they tried they fell in love with eachother. They married and Elina took Alor's surname, they were the first Darkmists. Alor and Elina leaved in peace and got a child called Sandra. Sadly Sandra married a thief and this made a few more generations to become outlaws. Later the family had to leave its land's as the scourge attacked Gilneas and they found themselves in Stormwind without money or shelter...

The Sunburn Family
A brief history:
The Sunburn family was a wealthy and prosperous one, a long line of powerful magisters, sorcerers and spell-breakers. When Arthas and his scourge invaded, the Sunburn estate, hidden deep within the Eversong Woods, remained untouched. When the sunwell was destroyed, the family followed their prince until the end, with blind confidence that his choices would bring them prosperity, salvation, and more importantly; a steady and reliable source of magic to maintain themselves. During this time, they often referred to themselves as Voidheart. The great legacy of the family fell with their prince; leaving the remaining family members left behind poor and broken.
traits:
Red hair, pale skin and often freckled.
Magically talented, and plagued by the addiction.
Are historically elf supremacists, but the fall of prince Kael'thas impacted many.
Alignment then: Sunfury
Alignment now: Scattered.

Red curly hair, pale skin and freckles. He is slender, tall and well-toned. Sought refuge in physical training to find distraction from the addiction. A very pious man, often looked after his big sister more then she looked after him. Was a promising Initiate of the Silvermoon guard until he one disappeared.
Lord Altyran Sunburn.
Age: 312
Status: Missing, presumed dead.
Family position: Head of the family.
Character description:
Red curly hair, pale skin and freckles. A powerful spellbreaker turned warlock. Always dressed to the finest, with a royal arrogance about him. Nothing has been heard of him since the fall of Magisters Terrace.
Lady Sendrael'tal Sunburn
Age: 378
Status: Missing, presumed dead.
Family position: Head of the family.
Character description:
Fiery orange hair, fair skin. A powerful sorceress turned warlock. Always dressed to the finest, with a royal arrogance about her. Before marriage she was called Sendrael'tal Anar'Phoenix. Nothing has been heard of him since the fall of Magisters Terrace.
Domaethralas Sunburn
Age: 286
Status: Missing, alive.
Family Position: Brother of Lord Altyran Sunburn.
Character description:
Sleek red hair, slender build. Fabulous man, never much of a fighter. Has the same royal arrogance over him as his brother. Did not wish to follow his brother and other family to Magisters Terrace, and has been incognito ever since. He's made it known to his niece and nephew that he is alive, and has visited them on occasion.
###
Anyone is welcome to roll a member of this family as they see fit; there's plenty of lee-way for all kinds of interesting things.

Re: Family Recruition Thread
Reyleighs past is a chaotic and sad one, he never knew that his mother smugled out his sibling while they were in slavery.
His unknown sister was given to a friend of the mother, who raised her but one day told her the truth about her brother and mother and she sets out to find her long lost brother she only knows stories about.
Her travels has only given more tails and rumours about a gray worgen named Reyleigh.
(Looking for someone interested in playing this person, there is some details taht need to be set if you are interested so poke me if interested at all. Nothing is written in stone about the character so I'mnot gonna tell you how to play it outside of the story, maybe one of your existing characters don't have a solid background yet?. All are welcome to sign up!)

*updated*
The Cranesong Family
Brief history:
The history of the family before they moved to the Wandering Isle is barely known (that is, it's not thought of yet, other's may). The first Cranesong to settle Shen-zin su was called Xinjin the Nomad. Xinjin travelled around Pandaria untill he had seen every cornor of it and decided he wanted to travel elsewhere. To his great luck, which he attributes to a Grummle trinket, he arrived on the shores of Pandaria on one of the days Shen-zin Su returned. He didn't hesitate and made the Wandering Isle his base of operation. Xinjin had alot of adventures, some of which took place on Kalimdor and in the Eastern Kingdom. He married Jiajun and inherited her family farm. She and the farmhands did most of the work. When Xinjin was getting older he didn't have as much adventures and instead wrote of them... with varying historic accuracy. A family shrine on the farmstead is dedicated to Xinjin and Jiajun, before death each Cranesong generation decides on a quote or a small text to be forever carved in or written on the shrine.
Traits:
- All fur colours exist within the family.
- Most Cranesong enjoy reading, hearing, writing or telling stories.
- Often quite smart, but a bit rough around the edges: most don't have very good table mannors for example.
- Value family highly.
Allignment:
There's probably Cranesongs on Pandaria (do roll them!!). Most Cranesongs stayed on Shen-zin Su, of the ones that left most joined the Tushui, a few cousins could've joined the Horde.
Played Cranesongs:
Xião Cranesong
Just some pointers:
- Black and white fur.
- Tushui Pandaren, very loyal to the Alliance, but not very interested in participating in the war.
- Very big, but picky, eater and of course a drunk.
- Rather excitable, which didn't make him do well in education, he can't read as a consequence. His grandfather said of him that he only sat still if he was listening to a story.
- Has a strong body due to needing to let out alot of energy, and is gifted with a very good aim.
- He calls himself a hunter, and is an absolute fan of the hunt. He does recognise that one has to be careful not too overhunt. Has alot of respect for Night Elfs and Tauren because of this.
Zhião Cranesong
Xião's twinbrother. Jianhua told Xião and Zhião a story about their birth once: When Yué went in to labor a thunderstorm was raging outside and it was during that thunderstorm that Xião was born. By the time Zhião was born, the skies were completely clear however. He believes in retrospect it was a sign as to how Xião and Zhião were going to be: One impetuous, the other calm. Zhião is indeed much more calm then Xião and has as such benefitted more from education. Zhião is rather studious in fact, often spending hours reading. He often convinced Xião to do his farmwork for him so he could read.
Unplayed Cranesongs:
I'll divide this section in two, first section for unplayed Cranesongs I'd like to keep unplayed, second bit for those people can totally play!
Strictly unplayed:
Jihua Cranesong
Elder of the family (together with his wife Li-Lan), Xião's grandfather. He still works on the farm, but less than he used to, is working on the small text he wants put on the shrine after he dies. Has written a book of stories, and liked to read from it to people. Not as adventurous as his ancestor Xinjin, he stayed on the farm most of his life.
Li-Lan Cranesong.
Elder of the family (together with hubbie Jihua), Xião's grandmother. She is a daughter of the brewer who was supplied mainly by the Cranesong family. She doesn't work on the farm anymore, she does still help in the household. She spends alot of time playing boardgames and is quite good at them. She's considered the most intelligent and wise in the family.
Unplayed:
Quick note: names are not necesarily set in stone.
Jianhua Cranesong
Father of Xião and patriach of the family. He oversees the farm and makes long hours working. He started a little brewing project with the help of Li-Lan. He always wanted the best for his children and wife, but is a bit of a workaholic, so he spend(s) less time with them than he thinks he should, which makes him feel guilty. Doesn't sit still very well.
Yué Cranesong
Mother of Xião and matriach of the family. Born in Wu-Song to a tailor. Loving mother and excellent cook. She did most of the parenting herself, but never saw that as a problem. She is very proud of, and takes alot of joy from her husband's hard work, and of all of her three children.
Jia-Lan Cranesong
The younger sister of Xião and Zhião. Growing up with two brothers has made her a bit of a tomboy. She shares Xião's impatience and impulsiveness, but unlike him can read and enjoys it. Being the smaller of the siblings she has learned to be more cunning to both her brother to win whenever they would play a competetive game.
~~~
If you'd like to roll one close to Xião in the family I'd like to beforehand, if you want to roll Pandaria Cranesongs, or cousins/uncles/aunties, feel free to just do so! I would of course like to hear it if you rolled one so I can keep this updated and we can RP hopefully :DD
Re: Family Recruition Thread
The House of Conover is a noble House of Stormwind characterized by their loyalty and stubborn pride. Once very powerful due to strong ties to the Crown and the Duchy of what is now Duskwood, recent generations have left the Conovers reeling from political opportunism from their rivals and infighting from within. With many of their great lands now lost to other Houses, the Conovers have entered a period of revaluation, seeking to discover how they might re-shape their House to make it a prominent force once again.
House Name: Conover
Head of House: Anderyn III, Baron of Ridgepoint
Lands: Among others, the House holds the Barony of Ridgepoint (southeastern Elwynn) and the Barony of Redfalls (eastern Elwynn).
Former Lands: The House has an ancestral claim to the March of Highwall (southern Duskwood, border of Stranglethorn).
Vassals: Among others, the House of Hillfort-Deadwood and the House of Castorby are vassals to the House of Conover.
Fealty: House Conover serve as vassals to the Viscount of the Valelands, the Earl of East Elwynn, and the Duke of Elwynn.
Notable Ancestors: Cadmin, Marquess of Highwall (first Conover marquess of Highwall, "Cadmin" is now a common first name for the House). Tandred, Marquess of Highwall (last Conover marquess of Highwall).
Relations with other Houses: Sour. Many Houses, even other loyalists, feel the Conovers are stubborn to a fault and impossible to work with. The Conovers, likewise, hate the other Houses for "stealing" their lands.
Blazon: Azure and two bars Argent, a wolf rampant Tenné armed Argent with langued Gules; for a Crest, upon the barred helm the coronet composed of four pearls; Mantling Azure and Argent. (in English: The shield is blue and two bars silver; the charge is a burnt-orange rampant wolf with silver teeth and claws and a red tongue; the crest is a coronet composed of four pearls atop a barred helmet; the mantling is blue and silver.)
Colours: Blue, white, and orange
Motto: "Loyalty always"
Family traits:
Family Alignment - usually Lawful Neutral
1. Dark hair. Usually dark brown or raven.
2. Dark to mixed eye color. Typically brown, hazel, or green.
3. Fair skin, but slightly darker than the average Stormwindian noble as a result of hunting traditions and ancestral lands bordering the Stranglethorn jungle.
4. Loyalty. Members of the House of Conover are raised to respect authority and tradition and always work within proper procedure, even when this poses a threat to the House's well-being. If a Conover betrays the House or Crown, even for respectable reasons, they are disowned. During conflicts between Houses, House Conover always defends Crown, even when incompetent or immoral kings sit upon the throne and even if this requires the Conovers to betray their immediate lords. This, in turn, has caused great resentment against House Conover and makes many Houses scoff at the Conovers' claims of "loyalty". The House has lost many of its most important lands over the past few generations, including their beloved March of Highwall, as a result of vindictive successors. This has left House Conover at a fraction of its former strength and has greatly strained their commitment to the Crown. Growing discontent among members is threatening to unravel the House's "loyalty always" alignment.
5. Ambitious. Conovers are perfectionists that strive to excel, especially after the loss of so many of their lands. This often causes personal turmoil, as members struggle to reconcile their loyalty with their ambition. Deception is considered a strength, but lying is not. Conover ambition causes them to stretch the definition of loyalty so that it applies to institutions rather than people. Conovers will therefore regularly seek to take control of whatever field they find themselves in (provided it can be done through lawful means), regardless of the merits of current leaders. This, more than anything else, has caused the most friction between the Conovers and other Houses, as they feel that the Conovers are hypocritical bullies.
6. Proud, stubborn. As a House that favors loyalty above all else, Conovers consider themselves the most respectable House, one that has suffered much thanks to the disloyalty of other Houses. They believe that only they are fit to rule, for only they will put the kingdom ahead of their own glory (a belief called hypocritical by the House's detractors). Conovers despise members of organizations with shifting allegiances, such as mercenaries, and can be very insular. An old House saying is, "Loyalty begets loyalty," meaning that only those who are loyal to the House can expect to be trusted by the House. Conovers treat outsiders with suspicion until they prove themselves to be trustworthy. A stranger that does become a recognized ally of the House is treated with respect, though they are seen as a beloved servant rather than a true equal.
7. Hunters. Conovers have a long history of hunting, and maintain extensive grounds set aside for that purpose. As a result of their traditions, they understand the cycle of nature and do not seek to overhunt.
8. Hounds. The charge of House Conover is a wolf, and they maintain large kennels in their lands. Most Conover manors possess at least one hound. The Conover breed is hardy and well-trained, though they can be rugged and, like their masters, are stubborn around strangers. Conover hounds are not bred for appearance, and the House considers such impractical showmanship to be disgusting. Conover hounds are often set against each other in blood sports, though there are some in the House who disagree with this practice. Supporters claim that it is essential to strengthening the breed. (Conover hounds use the Gilnean mastiff model)
Played Family Members
Areyah Conover (Areyah/Aréyah), 47, Commodore in the Stormwind Navy Reserve, Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint, Stormwind Minister of Defense, Chairlady of the Council of Stormwind, Daughter of Elias, Mother of Cathee, Cousin of Anderyn III, Aunt of Anderyn IV, Aunt of Garon. [Lawful Good]
Areyah is the only child of Elias Conover, the former Baron of Ridgepoint. Though raised to be the perfect court lady, Areyah rebelled against her strict upbringing and attempted to spite her parents by engaging in terribly improper social activities. The First War changed everything, however. With the burning of her home and the forced evacuation to the northern shores of Lordaeron, Areyah found herself needing to grow up. She was encouraged to seek a marriage with other displaced noblemen in the hopes of exploiting the opportunity, but she instead chose to become an officer in the new Alliance of Lordaeron's military.
In the years since, Areyah has restored her standing within the family through her excellent service, though her refusal to get married (outside of one failed attempt with Sir James Norris) remains a sour mark. As a gesture of support for her, Lord Ridgepoint, Areyah's cousin, has granted her the ceremonial title of Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint.
In the last year, she has become a leading member of the Council of Stormwind.
Cathee Norris (Cathee), 17, Private in the Stormwind Army, Daughter of Areyah, Niece of Anderyn III, Cousin of Anderyn IV, Cousin of Garon. [Neutral Good]
While technically not a member of the House, Cathee has recently come to stay with her mother after selling off the Westfields property she inherited from her father, Sir James Norris. Cathee does not share the noble upbringing of her mother, having been allowed much freedom in her youth, and so regularly conflicts with her mother over various aspects of noble life. This comes in addition to the strain between the two caused by her mother's abandonment of her when Areyah divorced Cathee's father.
Cathee had aspirations to become a priest in the Chapter of Holy Anethion, but put that path aside after the Chapter's attack on the Council. Instead, she has enlisted as a medic in the 1st Regiment of the Stormwind Army.
Unplayed Family Members
Anderyn Conover III, 39, Baron of Ridgepoint, Son of Anderyn II, Father of Anderyn IV, Father of Garon, Nephew of Elias, Cousin of Areyah, Uncle of Cathee. [Lawful Good]
Anderyn is relatively new to his position, having only inherited it a few years ago. As his uncle, Elias, had no sons, Anderyn had long been expecting the barony to eventually pass to him, though his preparations have not made the transition as easy as he would have liked. Regardless, Anderyn does the position proud, and rules fairly and justly over his lands. He is even humble, a rare trait for a Conover, and doesn't seek any power within the kingdom at large. For his part, he is content to simply rule his barony as best as he is able.
Anderyn is a strongly religious man, having deep faith in the Holy Light. He is concerned with the growing influence of the Chapter of Holy Anethion, seeing it as a perversion of the Light's virtues, but has made no attempt to ban or otherwise discourage Anethion interests in his barony.
Anderyn maintains only a small, token militia in Ridgepoint, as the majority of his men have been sent to serve in King Varian's army against the Horde. He gave the title of Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint to his cousin, Areyah, though the position is largely ceremonial--the small militia is easily able to manage itself.
Emmanuel Hillfort-Deadwood, 48, Baron of Redfalls. [Lawful Neutral]
Emmanuel rules over the barony of Redfalls, which has a sizable Anethionian populace. Emmanuel is strongly opposed to the Anethionians, and is angered by Anderyn's refusal to formally condemn their activities in his own lands. While Anderyn does sympathize with Emmanuel, he feels that it would be wrong to dictate religion in the House's lands.
Emmanuel maintains a strong militia, which works to quash any attempt by the Anethionians to institute their own "whitecloak" militias in the barony's villages. Emmnauel fears that the Anethionians, if given the chance to organize their own army, would attempt to depose him.
Emmanuel has one daughter of two years of age, and is currently considering marriage arrangements.
Anderyn Conover IV, Son of Anderyn III, Brother of Garon, Nephew of Areyah, Cousin of Cathee.
Garon Conover, Son of Anderyn III, Brother of Anderyn IV, Nephew of Areyah, Cousin of Cathee.
Sir Vincent Castorby
Creating a Conover
Not all members of House Conover are of the family proper (as shown by Emmanuel and Vincent). The most common classes for members of the House are hunters, warriors, and rogues. Mages and warlocks are rare, with the latter being disowned if they ever break the laws on dark magic.
Prospective players may freely play one of the above unplayed characters or create a servant, retainer, knight, or new family relative, but I ask that you let me know by PM so I can keep in the loop. I'd prefer that the two barons are not played, as actual titled nobility can be iffy in RP, but I'm open to persuasion.
Conover hounds are often set against each other in blood sports, though there are some in the House who disagree with this practice. Supporters claim that it is essential to strengthening the breed. (Conover hounds use the Gilnean mastiff model)
Played Family Members
Areyah Conover (Areyah/Aréyah), 47, Commodore in the Stormwind Navy Reserve, Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint, Stormwind Minister of Defense, Chairlady of the Council of Stormwind, Daughter of Elias, Mother of Cathee, Cousin of Anderyn III, Aunt of Anderyn IV, Aunt of Garon. [Lawful Good]
Areyah is the only child of Elias Conover, the former Baron of Ridgepoint. Though raised to be the perfect court lady, Areyah rebelled against her strict upbringing and attempted to spite her parents by engaging in terribly improper social activities. The First War changed everything, however. With the burning of her home and the forced evacuation to the northern shores of Lordaeron, Areyah found herself needing to grow up. She was encouraged to seek a marriage with other displaced noblemen in the hopes of exploiting the opportunity, but she instead chose to become an officer in the new Alliance of Lordaeron's military.
In the years since, Areyah has restored her standing within the family through her excellent service, though her refusal to get married (outside of one failed attempt with Sir James Norris) remains a sour mark. As a gesture of support for her, Lord Ridgepoint, Areyah's cousin, has granted her the ceremonial title of Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint.
In the last year, she has become a leading member of the Council of Stormwind.
Cathee Norris (Cathee), 17, Private in the Stormwind Army, Daughter of Areyah, Niece of Anderyn III, Cousin of Anderyn IV, Cousin of Garon. [Neutral Good]
While technically not a member of the House, Cathee has recently come to stay with her mother after selling off the Westfields property she inherited from her father, Sir James Norris. Cathee does not share the noble upbringing of her mother, having been allowed much freedom in her youth, and so regularly conflicts with her mother over various aspects of noble life. This comes in addition to the strain between the two caused by her mother's abandonment of her when Areyah divorced Cathee's father.
Cathee had aspirations to become a priest in the Chapter of Holy Anethion, but put that path aside after the Chapter's attack on the Council. Instead, she has enlisted as a medic in the 1st Regiment of the Stormwind Army.
Unplayed Family Members
Anderyn Conover III, 39, Baron of Ridgepoint, Son of Anderyn II, Father of Anderyn IV, Father of Garon, Nephew of Elias, Cousin of Areyah, Uncle of Cathee. [Lawful Good]
Anderyn is relatively new to his position, having only inherited it a few years ago. As his uncle, Elias, had no sons, Anderyn had long been expecting the barony to eventually pass to him, though his preparations have not made the transition as easy as he would have liked. Regardless, Anderyn does the position proud, and rules fairly and justly over his lands. He is even humble, a rare trait for a Conover, and doesn't seek any power within the kingdom at large. For his part, he is content to simply rule his barony as best as he is able.
Anderyn is a strongly religious man, having deep faith in the Holy Light. He is concerned with the growing influence of the Chapter of Holy Anethion, seeing it as a perversion of the Light's virtues, but has made no attempt to ban or otherwise discourage Anethion interests in his barony.
Anderyn maintains only a small, token militia in Ridgepoint, as the majority of his men have been sent to serve in King Varian's army against the Horde. He gave the title of Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint to his cousin, Areyah, though the position is largely ceremonial--the small militia is easily able to manage itself.
Emmanuel Hillfort-Deadwood, 48, Baron of Redfalls. [Lawful Neutral]
Emmanuel rules over the barony of Redfalls, which has a sizable Anethionian populace. Emmanuel is strongly opposed to the Anethionians, and is angered by Anderyn's refusal to formally condemn their activities in his own lands. While Anderyn does sympathize with Emmanuel, he feels that it would be wrong to dictate religion in the House's lands.
Emmanuel maintains a strong militia, which works to quash any attempt by the Anethionians to institute their own "whitecloak" militias in the barony's villages. Emmnauel fears that the Anethionians, if given the chance to organize their own army, would attempt to depose him.
Emmanuel has one daughter of two years of age, and is currently considering marriage arrangements.
Anderyn Conover IV, Son of Anderyn III, Brother of Garon, Nephew of Areyah, Cousin of Cathee.
Garon Conover, Son of Anderyn III, Brother of Anderyn IV, Nephew of Areyah, Cousin of Cathee.
Sir Vincent Castorby
Creating a Conover
Not all members of House Conover are of the family proper (as shown by Emmanuel and Vincent). The most common classes for members of the House are hunters, warriors, and rogues. Mages and warlocks are rare, with the latter being disowned if they ever break the laws on dark magic.
Prospective players may freely play one of the above unplayed characters or create a servant, retainer, knight, or new family relative, but I ask that you let me know by PM so I can keep in the loop. I'd prefer that the two barons are not played, as actual titled nobility can be iffy in RP, but I'm open to persuasion.
Re: Family Recruition Thread
The House of Courcelle is a Dalarini based noble house, distinguishable by their mystical appearance and their terrifying affinity for wielding arcane, but with power comes a price, the family host many dark secrets, rumors of scandal, practices of forbidden magics, the product of inbreeding to create arcane mutation, the pure magical blood runs thick. They are the definition of high born, so much so that even other noble houses few them as pompous; once considered one of the richest families in Azeroth, their wealth has dwindled with the loss of their estates and farm lands in Southshore and Lordaeron, now only living solely on the distribution of magical ore in Northrend mines, the Courcelle family cling to their ties and seek to strengthen their standing with other noble houses based in the Alliance, so they may reign to riches and power as they once did before, even if it means breaking tradition.
[Lawful/Neutral]
Nemaerys Courcelle 15, heiress to her family, budding magi.
Daughter to Drathil, Nemaerys stays as a ward to Braiden Mistmantle but lives with her head in the clouds, blissfully ignorant of her family's politics but not immune to their influence, despite her naivety and innocence she is still as much a Courcelle as her father. She has been thrown into a world outside of her haven in Dalaran, and faces Stormwind, oblivious to its danger and paying more attention to its charm. She is steadily making friends with outsiders, and aims to please her father by using her magical talent to its full potential. [Lawful/Good]
Cadious Courcelle 17, middle child of Alicia and Drathil.
Cadious is the middle child between Alazar and Nemaerys - often frustrated by the unbalanced attention his elder brother, and younger sister receive, he acts out as most middle children do. Which has earned him the jape "A rooster among tiger cubs".
Alazar Courcelle 21, oldest son of Drathil.
Alazar Courcelle is a confused young adult, deeply in passionate yet secret love with his sister, Nemaerys. A source of constant conflict with his father, Drathil. A growing animosity in Alazar's heart engulfs him when he is alone leading to a rage which leaves the poor lad shaking. He has been in love with his sister for longer than he realizes, yet now with her placement in Mistmantle's family and his discovery of his fathers plans, the realization is dawning upon him. Unsure of what is to come and of where his family is going, Alazar is struggling to cope with the seemingly loss of her sister. [Lawful/Chaotic]
Lady Alicia Courcelle 38, wife of Drathil, mother to Nemaerys, Cadious and Alazar.
Alicia supports her husband in all his decisions while from outside she is known as a stubborn woman, during the household's new current era to create ties with other households, Alicia is of wits and pride causing her to be of mild temperament, while holding the value of family high, her business is her children; smothering them lovingly, and completely over-looking their flaws; Alazar's intentions, Nemaerys' naivety and Cadious' lack of ambition. She watches and supports them all unconditionally.
Vaerixon Courcelle deceased, 78, Archmage and Evoker of the Kirin Tor, "The Tigers' Fury"
Vaerixon was one of the founding and most notable members of the Courcelle house, he died at a ripe age of 78 from a sexually transmitted disease. He is well reknown for taking the Houses' sigil into literal depiction and adopting a tiger cub as his familiar, of course the beast grew and served as more than a simple creature. He gained his name "The Tigers' Fury" due to his beastly temper, and in result the linked mind he shared with his tiger caused the beast to lash out as well, and massacres often ensued from a simple disagreement, it has birthed a saying among family members of "A tiger/tigress temper" when one member displays Vaerixon's ire, and are said to have inherited it. [Neutral/Chaotic]
Cysserys Courcelle deceased, 32, Magi, illusionist and astromancer of the Courcelle family. She was a grandaughter to Vaerixon and was the very first Courcelle to be born with silver hair. Her excel in astromancy lead to a fable that Cysserys found a way to fly to space and steal the silver from the stars to put in her hair. She died in birth of her third child fathered by her brother. [Lawful/Good]
Family traits:
Family Alignment norm - Lawful/Neutral
- All of the Courcelle members have silver hair, due to their thick arcane blood and inbreeding.
- Courcelle's also host odd eye colours, that emits a faint glow often mutated variants of normal eye colours, i.e. brown eyes would be golden and so on (another factor of arcanic blood).
- Every single Courcelle member is capable of magic, as they were bred to be able to wield it.
- All are zealously loyal to Dalaran, the Kirin Tor and the practise & learning of magic.
- Skintone ranges from mildly tanned to pale, as the forefathers of the clan were nerdy magi shut-ins.
- Pride. All Courcelle's are raised with a "holier-than-thou" mentality, believing their pure-blood family reigns supreme over other mixed mottled house-holds, this view is rarely put into articulation however, but remains as an unspoken mantra among house members. In result Courcelle's can come across as quite arrogant, and very self sure; often taking their own opinion or input into consideration over anothers' as accordingly, they know better. This can lead to sour relationships with outsiders, as family members can be difficult to reason with, or too stubborn to take anothers idea on board.
- Untrusting. The family is tight knitted, and often keep to themselves - which means anyone who isn't a Courcelle is a potential threat or enemy, and is not to be trusted unless they prove their worth by merit or mettle.
- Interbred. All Courcelle's look very, very alike. It is family tradition to keep the arcane blood pure and strong, so that magic comes more naturally - unless you have a sister or cousin to marry and bed, wedding an outsider is an absolute last resort. As a result, genetic defects occur, and often result in bad personality disorders, so every few generations its mandatory for a Courcelle man to wed an outsider to clear the gene pool of its defections. Although the tradition of the Courcelle household is common knowledge to the family it is often not brought up in conversation with other people, and remains a rumor among outsiders. Also birthed the family phrase "The blood is pure" and "Family is the homeland of the heart."
- Mages. Naturally, since they are brought up surrounded by magic, most Courcelle's learn the teachings to become a mage, however it isn't unheard of to see a Courcelle pick up a sword and shield.
