Another type of thread I'm a bit curious why it has yet to come up before. While I realize this strikes very close to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], it's purpose is slightly different. While the two thread certainly relate and can be combined for further assistance- this thread is focused on what families are 'recruiting' so to speak.

It's main purpose is describing things like, specific things about what the family is known for, such as color traits, skin color frequency, frequency of certain eye color or anything else that the family's bloodline has as a general thing. It may be something insignificant, as well as something very easy to notice. It's aimed towards giving people an idea of what families are open and not, in case they'd want to broaden someone's family on another front, so you know what to strive for, were you to make a character of the family.

Do note that the families here are open for anyone to 'join', unless stated otherwise by the people writing here, so you will not need confirmation by the player- but talking to them about it beforehand to get a proper perspective of what you're getting yourself into, would be great.
If you wish to be directly connected to someone in a family, then it's just common sense to contact that person so you can create some sort of agreement.
(Contacting the creator of the family is strongly advised, it will give you a chance to discuss the background of the family in greater detail and get a better general understanding about it)

Remember that these families are often not nobles, quite the opposite, they're usually just regular families. Some may stand out more than others (such as my own), but this mainly focuses on the more common families.
Open to any recruiting family.

- Update(d, again) -

Since the below has taken on the same style I have, I suppose I'll make a easy sheet for anyone who wants to just copypaste and write:
-

[ size=18]Family traits:[/size]
[ size=14]Family Alignment norm - [ /size]

[ size=18]Character Name[/size], age/status, Profession/family position, relation to head or close family, ( in-game character name(s) ) [Alignment]

[ /color]

Update 2
Put all posts in the front page, aswell as categorized them by race.

Update 3, added the [ color=black], the reason for this is that I need to add it to make your quotes black anyway, so if you could add this onto your own posts at the very beginning and at the end, it'd save a little bit of time.

Feel free to mix and match with fonts and change it all around if you want, or don't follow it at all! Your choice.

The Cranesong Family
Brief history:
The history of the family before they moved to the Wandering Isle is barely known (that is, it's not thought of yet, other's may). The first Cranesong to settle Shen-zin su was called Xinjin the Nomad. Xinjin travelled around Pandaria untill he had seen every cornor of it and decided he wanted to travel elsewhere. To his great luck, which he attributes to a Grummle trinket, he arrived on the shores of Pandaria on one of the days Shen-zin Su returned. He didn't hesitate and made the Wandering Isle his base of operation. Xinjin had alot of adventures, some of which took place on Kalimdor and in the Eastern Kingdom. He married Jiajun and inherited her family farm. She and the farmhands did most of the work. When Xinjin was getting older he didn't have as much adventures and instead wrote of them... with varying historic accuracy. A family shrine on the farmstead is dedicated to Xinjin and Jiajun, before death each Cranesong generation decides on a quote or a small text to be forever carved in or written on the shrine.

Traits:
- All fur colours exist within the family.
- Most Cranesong enjoy reading, hearing, writing or telling stories.
- Often quite smart, but a bit rough around the edges: most don't have very good table mannors for example.
- Value family highly.

Allignment:
There's probably Cranesongs on Pandaria (do roll them!!). Most Cranesongs stayed on Shen-zin Su, of the ones that left most joined the Tushui, a few cousins could've joined the Horde.

Played Cranesongs:

Xião Cranesong
Just some pointers:
- Black and white fur.
- Tushui Pandaren, very loyal to the Alliance, but not very interested in participating in the war.
- Very big, but picky, eater and of course a drunk.
- Rather excitable, which didn't make him do well in education, he can't read as a consequence. His grandfather said of him that he only sat still if he was listening to a story.
- Has a strong body due to needing to let out alot of energy, and is gifted with a very good aim.
- He calls himself a hunter, and is an absolute fan of the hunt. He does recognise that one has to be careful not too overhunt. Has alot of respect for Night Elfs and Tauren because of this.

Zhião Cranesong
Xião's twinbrother. Jianhua told Xião and Zhião a story about their birth once: When Yué went in to labor a thunderstorm was raging outside and it was during that thunderstorm that Xião was born. By the time Zhião was born, the skies were completely clear however. He believes in retrospect it was a sign as to how Xião and Zhião were going to be: One impetuous, the other calm. Zhião is indeed much more calm then Xião and has as such benefitted more from education. Zhião is rather studious in fact, often spending hours reading. He often convinced Xião to do his farmwork for him so he could read.

Unplayed Cranesongs:
I'll divide this section in two, first section for unplayed Cranesongs I'd like to keep unplayed, second bit for those people can totally play!

Strictly unplayed:

Jihua Cranesong
Elder of the family (together with his wife Li-Lan), Xião's grandfather. He still works on the farm, but less than he used to, is working on the small text he wants put on the shrine after he dies. Has written a book of stories, and liked to read from it to people. Not as adventurous as his ancestor Xinjin, he stayed on the farm most of his life.

Li-Lan Cranesong.
Elder of the family (together with hubbie Jihua), Xião's grandmother. She is a daughter of the brewer who was supplied mainly by the Cranesong family. She doesn't work on the farm anymore, she does still help in the household. She spends alot of time playing boardgames and is quite good at them. She's considered the most intelligent and wise in the family.

Unplayed:
Quick note: names are not necesarily set in stone.

Jianhua Cranesong
Father of Xião and patriach of the family. He oversees the farm and makes long hours working. He started a little brewing project with the help of Li-Lan. He always wanted the best for his children and wife, but is a bit of a workaholic, so he spend(s) less time with them than he thinks he should, which makes him feel guilty. Doesn't sit still very well.

Yué Cranesong
Mother of Xião and matriach of the family. Born in Wu-Song to a tailor. Loving mother and excellent cook. She did most of the parenting herself, but never saw that as a problem. She is very proud of, and takes alot of joy from her husband's hard work, and of all of her three children.

Jia-Lan Cranesong
The younger sister of Xião and Zhião. Growing up with two brothers has made her a bit of a tomboy. She shares Xião's impatience and impulsiveness, but unlike him can read and enjoys it. Being the smaller of the siblings she has learned to be more cunning to both her brother to win whenever they would play a competetive game.

~~~
If you'd like to roll one close to Xião in the family I'd like to beforehand, if you want to roll Pandaria Cranesongs, or cousins/uncles/aunties, feel free to just do so! I would of course like to hear it if you rolled one so I can keep this updated and we can RP hopefully :DD
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Hailing from the harsh and unforgiving steppes of Kun Lai, both the Wulong and Heavenblaze family have lived under the patronage of the White Tiger since time memmorial.
Wulong
The Wulong family is one of the largest pandaren families that make their home in the harsh plains of Kun Lai. Having lived under the patronage of the White Tiger and the protection of the Shado-pan for so long, the Wulongs have developed strong ties with the Shado-pan. Amongst some branches it has become customary to send the youngest child or children that are not needed directly on the farm to serve upon the wall. Those are a minority, however, as most Wulongs live the tranquil life of farmers, yak-herders and tradefolk.
Family traits:
Alignment: True Neutral
Physical and/or character traits:
  • White-with-black hair.
  • Short, stubby tails.
  • Jade eyes.
  • A little more stoic than your average southern pandaren due to living in the harsher northern lands.
  • Proud history with the Shado-pan.
  • Most Wulongs are farmers, though they have a significant presence within the Shado-pan also.
- Played Family Members -
Paozi Wulong
Age/status: Old.
Profession/family position: Unmarried.
Relation to head or close family: Second-to-youngest son of the main branch family.
Alignment: True Neutral (Shado-pan)
Character description: Paozi Wulong was a restless youth and, not being particularily needed on the farm, was send to the wall by his father when he came of age. He embraced his duties with zeal, and was barely found returning home afterwards. When he did return on leave though, he was sure to make an impression, as he returned with exotic gifts from beyond the wall and many strong tales to tell.
When Paozi's fur had long since turned gray, he suffered a chronic injury that made him unfit for service, and he was honorably discharged. Not feeling he was fit for the life of a farmer, Paozi joined the order of Yu'lon and spend some years as a humble groundskeeper.
However, recent events have brought Paozi out of retirement. The old Shado-pan veteran returned one day to the Monestary and demanded his uniform back; nobody would question his wish, and he was given his black back. Paozi now spends most of his time watching what is on the "right" side of the wall, keeping a close eye on the Alliance, Horde; and most of all, his niece.
- Unplayed Family Members -
Pa&Ma Wulong (deceased)
Character description: Pao's poppa and momma. He doesn't like talking about them.
Aiguo Wulong
Character description: Pao's oldest brother and current head of the family. Happily married with many children, living a life of prosperity somewhere in the plains of Kun Lai on their farm that has been miraculously spared by the Yaungol invasion.
Heavenblaze
Heavenblaze is an obscure family that began with successive generations of successful caretakers responsible for shrines and mediation with the spirits of nature and the ancestors. Perhaps the ancestral favor has run out, or the talents failed to manifest in the new generation, but the Heavenblaze family was forced to first abandon its spiritual duties and later give up the upkeep of the shrines and finally retreated to a small farm in Kun-lai.
Family traits:
• Mostly brown-red fur.
• Long tails
• Blue or dark eyes
• A little more stoic than your average southern pandaren due to living in the harsher northern lands.
• Dusty legacy of shamanism
• Heavenblaze is a small family, failing to produce extensive branches and in some cases barely managing to pass the name.
Family Alignment norm:
True Neutral.
Suon Heavenblaze
Age/status: mature
Profession/family position: second child, formerly Caravan guard, now Alliance soldier
Relation to head or close family: matrilineal Wulong side-branch, primary Heavenblaze branch. Sister to eldest Heavenblaze.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Character description: Suon was meant for marriage and simple life, just as her older brother was meant to inherit the yak-farm. For reasons known to her alone, she instead turned to the Caravan guards protecting the grummle trains in high passes and keeping the caravan stations and bazaars orderly. When the Heavenblaze yak-farm was raided and destroyed by the Yaungol, Suon and her elder brother were rescued by Admiral Taylor and brave Alliance adventurers who rallied the survivors in Westwind Rest. Since then Suon pledged her allegiance to the Alliance force in Pandaria.
  2. Valued members of the family often decorate their skin with red, white or black serpents tattooed on various places on their skin.
  3. Due to their several centuries long history with poisons, some individuals are either fully or partially immune to various types of poisons.
  4. The Sunwhispers are a matriarchal family type.
  5. A significant amount of the family are, or have been working as assassins, thiefs, smugglers or spies; but they are most commonly known for their skill in creating potent poisons.
- Played Family Members -
Nessra Sunbinder is a middle aged blood elf, married to a young blood knight called Kristeas Sunbinder. Currently the oldest living member of the Sunwhisper family, Nessra still dabbles with poisons as well as antidotes. Nessra used to lead a band of assassins, but due to a crippling injury almost a century ago, she was forced to choose a less consuming life style. She is currently an officer of the Sin Belore, specialized in healing the injured and keeping the unit in check.   (Nessra) [Horde]
Nareesha Sunwhisper, Nessra's daughter, is an adult blood elf. She too is knowledgeable with poisons, antidotes are not her area of expertise though. She is currently the oldest living child of Nessra. ( Nareesha ) [Horde]
Ryak Sunwhisper, Nessra's son, is an adult blood elf, twin brother of Narafin. His knowledge in brewing poisons is lacking to say the least - he preferred focusing on fighting techniques instead. Currently the only assassin in the family, prefers to work as a freelancer Mercenary. ( Ryak ) [Horde]
Narafin Sunwhisper, Nessra's son, is an adult blood elf. His knowledge in poisons is very limited, but he makes it up in other talents. Currently working closely for the leader of the Sin Belore, Kaleil Sunstrike. ( Narafin ) [Horde]
Ashenila Sunwhisper, Nessra's niece, is a young adult blood elf. Ashenila is an aspiring assassin. (Ashenila) [Horde]
Sinariel Sunwhisper, Nessra's niece, Ashenila's sister, is a young adult blood elf. Sinariel is an experienced surgeon who also dabbles with poisons. (Sinariel) [Horde]
Often seen as quite posh, beliving their clan is better than others. It is very rare spotting a Irondawn drinking with his fellow dwarf.
The Irondawn Clan is in overall not for the general stereo typical dwarf rp'er, it's members trade marks being of the intelligent and cunning kind (or at least this is what they will pretend to be).
---
Fat, thin, round, stick, weak or muscular the clan has it all. The big hawk nose is the only reel trademark the clan sports.
- Like most other dwarven clans the Irondawn will accept lesser clans joining them, taking the Irondawn name, if the circumstances are right.
If you wish to join the Irondawn clan PM me or Arkadii.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Played Family Members -
Arkadii Irondawn, Senator / Thane of the Clan, Senator of Trade (Arkadii)  [Neutral Evil]
Having remained the Clans head of Treasury for a long many years, Arkadii have made contacts low as high all over the Kingdom of Khaz'Modan. The ram business is as lucrative today as it was when the Irondawn's first started it.
With a ruthless mind, Arkadii have striked numerous of great deals from the Wetlands all the way down to Stormwind, nearly making the competition outside of Ironforge go extinct from time to time.
But with the death Thane Gogol Irondawn, the reins of the Clan where shortly taken up by the ancient Eugune Irondawn that right away stated he would only hold the title untill a suitable heir would step forth.
In Arkadii the clan could see what is needed in a Thane, and the former head of Treasury where voted to become it's new ruler.
As the honourble head of the Clan, Arkadii where forced by duty to give his former duties up, honouring tradition of the Irondawn's, heading in to the mountain, offering the great Senate of Ironforge his service.
Today Arkadii serves as the Senator of Trade, a seat he was quikly given, based on the fact his experience was found most suitable for the job.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vasilije Irondawn, Lieutenant Captain (Vasilije) [Lawful Evil]
Vasilije where always known for his wits and devilishly good looks, growing up only a few girls could ever resist this suave muscular, dog smirking son-of-a-gun.
At an early age he joined the Mountaineers, and quickly rose in rank, having a head for tactics and people. Today the Clan knows very little about Vasilije, except that he is still serving in the Kings forces, every now and then showing up for the big meetings at Amberstill ranch, usually sporting some very well suited army suits, almost always wearing a new medal of honor.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gogol Irondawn, Senator Marshal - Deceased (Gogól) [Neutral Evil]
Gogol Irondawn was one controversial senator.
While it is agreed upon among the clans of Khaz'Modan that he was a competent man, his brusqe manners and strict dwarven supremacist policies where at times a source for concern. He was widely known for his military acumen, his immense pride over his heritage and the senatorial armed forces, his poor people skills and his penchance for smoking cigars.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Odgan Irondawn, Ironforge Guard (Odgan) [Lawful Neutral]
A patriotic Bronzebeard dwarf, who spend most of his life mining at Gol'bal Quarry, where he mined himself to Overseer, aswell overseering the convicted criminals. Later on, he decided to join the Ironforge Guard, to try and protect the Mountain and it's people from inside and outside threats, where he still serves to this day.
Tolerance. Due to the great variety of Dwarves from different clans and cultures, they have to develop a great sense of tolerance and respect for others. (Some ingame classes are however frowned upon, such as Warlocks and Death Knights. Mages are tolerated but barely so, since the arcane arts are still recently introduced to the clan).
------------------
While a mixed clan, they supported the Council of the Three Hammers as soon as the idea got presented. While mourning the petrified King Magni, they are also happy to see that the clans are trying to show up as a united front rather than splintered factions, putting their hopes into the heir of both Bronzebeard and Dark Iron origin for a lasting union.
------------------
While the leaders of the clan are often dressed in fine clothing, nothing prevents them from getting their hands dirty in physical work. (The thanes of old has been rather conservative and preferred to craft weapons and armour to defend their clan, while the current one likes to dig for artifacts and explore).
------------------
The one thing that marks the Blackforge founding family is the slightly grey/blackish skin, since they've only married with Bronzebeard/Dark Iron Dwarves to keep a connection with their past.
Captain of the Ironforge Guard. Loyal, big and strong. (If you need brute strenght, he's your Dwarf. Always obeying orders from higher-ups may cause some moral dilemmas however).
The Starwhisper Family:
often reffered to as 'house Starwhisper' or 'the Starwhisper clan', simply because it was so vast in its glory days but has greatly diminished due to the fall of Quel'thalas, and the families racial technique that has a heavy cost on life energy. The family mainly consists of high elves but has many humans too. They stem from Lordaeron but have played a massive part in the progress of the City of Dalaran, in retrospect they are spread over Eastern Kingdoms.
    Family Traits
  • The first and foremost distinguishable trait the clan possess is the family marking. The Starwhisper symbol is a rhombus shape on their forehead, and this acts as a threshold of mana, which basically means they can tap into mana they've been gathering for years when ever their base mana runs out, meaning they're very formidable opponants, as this means they can virtually not run out of mana in battle, using this ability also shortens their lifespan however due to the rapidity of cell regrowth when that much mana is pumped back into the body, which is why more high elves exist in the Starwhisper family than humans. It also varies in colour, the most common being purple or blue - this colour determines the characters' crystal colour.
  • They are usually rather pale.
  • Intellect is a common inheritance to a Starwhisper, given the majority of them have enrolled into learning magic. A lot of the Starwhispers are usually astrologists too.
  • A natural affinity for magic. The clan is made up entirely of magi, and thus arcane blood runs thick. This however suggests the family may have subjected to inbreeding to maintain the talent of magic.
  • Due to human and elf breeding for years down the line, (almost holistically) human members will have elf blood, and thus sport some elven features i.e. light skin, lithesomeness, symmetrical features etc.
  • The clan members names are usually elven-ish. And often have connotations with flowers (female) and astrology (male).
  • Each member gains the ability to 'crystalweave' - which is basically the unique ability to create crystals from raw power. These differ from mana gems because they can be manipulated into weapons and are not supplementary consumables. They also exist forever unless de-spelled and attract mana, so they can be used as pylons for magic, unless the creator that made them dies very suddenly of non natural causes, in which case every crystal they have made will shatter.
[*]
Family History
Being an entirely magi family, it goes without saying that they dwell in places that pertain such; this is mainly Dalaran, however few do remain in places such as Theramore, Stormwind, Shattrath and even regrettably, Quel'thalas (yes, some of the Quel'dorei converted to Sin'dorei, so it is possible for horde Starwhispers to exist). As their crystals are magical pylons, all the crystals adorning the roofs in Dalaran you see were created by the living remnants of the  family. The red crystals that are used in the Violet Hold are also family made (Perhaps by a vault guard Starwhisper with a red crystal affinity?).
Other than that, the family are nobles, rather snobby and rich.
This family is open, and if you desire to make a Starwhisper you must ensure that your character has some of the above traits (Rhombus/Crystal weaving, Mage class is mandatory).
Appearance varies greatly however, and you may either be Human, half-elf, High Elf - what ever you fancy!
As the family was so large, multiple cousins, aunts, brothers, sisters etc to Alorah all still exist. So if you want to make a Starwhisper PM me here on in game, I'd love to see more of them around!
Played Members:
Alorah Starwhisper,
203 years old, twin to sister Sariella, and a middle child to Rin'elle and Rhomlyn Starwhisper.
Crystal Affinity: Blue
Alorah is perhaps one of the most accomplished magi children of the Starwhisper, specifically in the fields of Illusionism.
Before her graduation to Arch Magistrix and appointed teacher of Illusion in the school of Arcane Magics, the family mostly viewed Alorah as a bit of a failure, due to constantly day dreaming, and spending her time painting or drawing. Her bottomless enthusiasm and optimisim often came across as quite childish, as well as her nervous verbal tic - powerfully exclaiming 'Kora!' or 'Il'amare!' (Meaning: 'Courage!' and 'Success!') made her seem bratty/annoying; but she surprised the elders of her family when excelling greatly in Dalaran and her studies.
Sariella Starwhisper,
203 years old, twin to Alorah, middle child to Rin'elle and Rhomlyn Starhwipser.
Crystal Affinity: Violet
Sariella is merely an hour older than her twin Alorah, and is the exact opposite to her loud-mouthed and happy-go-lucky sister, solemn, serious and somewhat of a loner. Sariella always showed talent and diligence from the beginning unlike her sister. She is known for her power through out the family, but otherwise she seems to keep to herself.
Head of House: By right of succession, Victoria Brightvale: now Vectoria of Blightwind.
House lands: formerly areas of Greater Eversong, currently known as The Ghostlands, the lands are considered in limbo considering the current state of the area.
House Symbol: A golden effeminate mask ornate with red and orange leaves.
Relations with other noble families: Lessers nobles of the old Silvermoon City. No political power.
Traits: Other then appearance, family members share a few key traits that get passed from parent to child, be they High elf or Half Elf.
Hunting is common place and as soon as a child can run and play they are encouraged to explore the woodlands and learn to survive amongst it. Hunting for sport is also encouraged.
Brightvale children stick together, and it wasn't uncommon to see an older cousin defending it's younger relative after a Half-elf slur was used against them.
Many of them were Farstriders, but there was an un-spoken rule that no half elf could ever join the ranks of the Farstriders, this has caused strife and disagreement between the House for generations.
A mistrust of magic or rather an eagerness to be independent of it. By nature it's chaotic and the last thing you need as a Huntsmen is a factor out of your control.
Annual hunting celebrations, once a year. A day would be spent hunting the wildlife and the Brightvale that came back with the most impressive kill would have bragging rights all year long, the evening was spent drinking and dancing, non-family members were invited also and this was also an important time to arrange marriages with other houses and sometimes favored humans: Victoria's parents were betrothed during a Great Hunt and Tahrial has won two of these.
Heroism and the spirit of adventure, very few Brightvales lived normal lives and exploring the world was encouraged.
History: The house was formed over twenty generations ago, lifted to noble status after three siblings within the Brightvale bloodline proved themselves to be vigilant defenders of the Thalassian people, each sister was given commanding status as a Farstrider Captain and granted dominion over the thicker woodlands of the area known as ' Greater Eversong '.
However over the centuries the children of these three sisters, and the children of those children dwindled down to little more then huntsmen and forest dwellers. The House was infamous for mixing blood with humans and often shunned amongst more elite circles of Nobles.
During the Scourge invasion most of the family were either killed or raised as undead, the few survivors rejected the way of the Sin'dorei and fled to Stormwind city, in the past year four members of the house have vanish, with one being discovered a midst the city's canals: throat ripped out and face violently removed. The matter is still currently being investigated by SI:7.
Family alignment: The very few living relatives are all within the Alliance, either High elf or Half elves all with some sort of connection to the hunt and or more atheletic ways of life, though a few can be considered Scholars, the family isn't known for magic users.
The even fewer undead relatives would most likely be ' living ' under a different name either within The Forsaken or an independant faction like the scourge, just like their living counterparts however they would favor the bow or a set of blades.
Appearance: Due to there close proximity to the border of Quel'thalas many Brightvales bred with the nearby humans and some even married off into human society, many Brightvales in The Alliance are half elves: to the point where there is an enough ratio between mixed bloods and pure bloods.
They tend to be tall, pale of skin and fair of hair with strong jaws and elegent features.
Known members:
Victoria Blightwind(undead), a Forsaken Deathstalker who is renown for her vindictive nature and effeciency when carrying out assignments, she's had dealings with The Cult of Shadow but remains a free agent serving loosely under The Banshee Queen, she once held sway in The Undercity but the strength in her voice was lost after a mix up with The Prophet Antistia, she favors traveling. She is currently wanted by SI:7 for the murder of a Diplomat, a high elf who formerly spoke out against House Brightvale and it's disappointing tendencies with mixing blood. Victoria is mixed blood: A half elf.
Personality: Determined/vindictive, Killer/talented, traitorous/independent. True neutral.
Enjoys the seedy little corners of Azeroth and has been known to take difficult contracts: by they for a kill or even theft, she isn't afraid to splurge her winnings on fancy steeds or clothes either.
Vaesandra Brightvale(open to play), Scout and one of the closest living relative to Blightwind, she is currently stationed within The Plaguelands and offers her services to The Argent Dawn, her and her cousin have had a few run ins: most involve her trying to talk The Deathstalker around and welcome her into The Dawn they often finish with clashed blades and ' agreeing to disagree ' tactical retreats.
Personality: Diplomatic/Fickle, Good-intentioned/Feeble, Hopeful/Ignorant. Lawful good.
Fond of her quiet time and wandering amongst the trees, she learn't to fight because she needed to and doesn't particularly enjoy hunting. Doesn't believe in intimidation or dirty tricks.
Tahrial Brightvale(open to play) Female High elf currently working for The Kingdom of Stormwind and more directly SI:7, she is an avid Quel'dorei supporter within The Alliance and stands by her distrust of The Undead and Sin'dorei, she is the oldest sister to Vaesandra and the other living relative to Blightwind, she has had her own scuffles with the Deathstalker, but does not consider the forsaken in anyway shape or form, still her cousin: She has severely wounded Victoria in the past and is one of the few agents of SI:17 that have survived an encounter. She considers her younger sister to be naive and a danger to herself, she also isn't fond of The Argent Dawns neutrality and it's ignorance to how truely dangerous The Forsaken are and The Horde is as a whole.
Personality: Pious/Zealous, Wise/Bitter, Vigilant/Final. Chaotic good.
She enjoys hunting deer and collecting furs from the wildlife, her home has quite a few trophies lying around. She doesn't particularly anything unless it involves competition or some sort of reward. Understands the need to play dirty whilst combating The Horde.
I would be open to discussing more living relatives or undead relatives if anyone was interested in getting involved. Feel free to inbox me.
Larnira wrote:The Darkmist Family
The Darkmist family is sometimes referred to as the Darkmist Syndicate or the Darkmist Retinue due to the high amount of members. Back in the old days before the Cataclysm the family was full of thieves, smugglers and criminals but after gilneas was evacuated only Theromin and Larnira were left. It can be listed as a High Elf family
Family traits:
  1. All of the families members have at least -some- magical powers within them mostly its Arcane
  2. Huge Patriots supporting Gilneas always aswell as supporting Quel'Dorei
  3. Dont care about politics but are still patriotic
  4. Most members quite intelligent
  5. Half of the family is Quel'Dorei which makes some people in the family or Half Breeds or Quel'dorei.
Family Alignment norm - Neutral Evil
Family Symbol - A big shield with a two handed sword afront of it, two pickaxes behind the shield and a mana wyrmling wrapped around the sword.
--Played Family Members--
Larnira Darkmist- A Quel'Dorei Girl adopted by Theromin and his wife, currently working in the Blades for hire
Theromin Darkmist- A gilnean berserk, Larnira's dad. His position is unknown ICly
Liliana Darkmist- A Gilnean Druid, Theromin's sister which studied in Darnassus and came back to Stormwind a few weeks ago
Family History
Long long ago there lived two people, those people were Elina and Alor Darkmist, they met eachother in very unusual circumstances as they tried to kill eachother. There was only one reason for it... greed! While they tried they fell in love with eachother. They married and Elina took Alor's surname, they were the first Darkmists. Alor and Elina leaved in peace and got a child called Sandra. Sadly Sandra married a thief and this made a few more generations to become outlaws. Later the family had to leave its land's as the scourge attacked Gilneas and they found themselves in Stormwind without money or shelter...
((The next copied from Starwhisper's))
The family is open so if you wish to join the family contact Larnira, as we have a huge family tree we can aswell help you choose one of the characters if you dont wanna make one yourself!
Drustai wrote:The House of Conover is a noble House of Stormwind characterized by their loyalty and stubborn pride. Once very powerful due to strong ties to the Crown and the Duchy of what is now Duskwood, recent generations have left the Conovers reeling from political opportunism from their rivals and infighting from within. With many of their great lands now lost to other Houses, the Conovers have entered a period of revaluation, seeking to discover how they might re-shape their House to make it a prominent force once again.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
House Name: Conover
Head of House: Anderyn III, Baron of Ridgepoint
Lands: Among others, the House holds the Barony of Ridgepoint (southeastern Elwynn) and the Barony of Redfalls (eastern Elwynn).
Former Lands: The House has an ancestral claim to the March of Highwall (southern Duskwood, border of Stranglethorn).
Vassals: Among others, the House of Hillfort-Deadwood and the House of Castorby are vassals to the House of Conover.
Fealty: House Conover serve as vassals to the Viscount of the Valelands, the Earl of East Elwynn, and the Duke of Elwynn.
Notable Ancestors: Cadmin, Marquess of Highwall (first Conover marquess of Highwall, "Cadmin" is now a common first name for the House). Tandred, Marquess of Highwall (last Conover marquess of Highwall).
Relations with other Houses: Sour. Many Houses, even other loyalists, feel the Conovers are stubborn to a fault and impossible to work with. The Conovers, likewise, hate the other Houses for "stealing" their lands.
Blazon: Azure and two bars Argent, a wolf rampant Tenné armed Argent with langued Gules; for a Crest, upon the barred helm the coronet composed of four pearls; Mantling Azure and Argent. (in English: The shield is blue and two bars silver; the charge is a burnt-orange rampant wolf with silver teeth and claws and a red tongue; the crest is a coronet composed of four pearls atop a barred helmet; the mantling is blue and silver.)
Colours: Blue, white, and orange
Motto: "Loyalty always"
Family traits:
Family Alignment - usually Lawful Neutral
1. Dark hair. Usually dark brown or raven.
2. Dark to mixed eye color. Typically brown, hazel, or green.
3. Fair skin, but slightly darker than the average Stormwindian noble as a result of hunting traditions and ancestral lands bordering the Stranglethorn jungle.
4. Loyalty. Members of the House of Conover are raised to respect authority and tradition and always work within proper procedure, even when this poses a threat to the House's well-being. If a Conover betrays the House or Crown, even for respectable reasons, they are disowned. During conflicts between Houses, House Conover always defends Crown, even when incompetent or immoral kings sit upon the throne and even if this requires the Conovers to betray their immediate lords. This, in turn, has caused great resentment against House Conover and makes many Houses scoff at the Conovers' claims of "loyalty". The House has lost many of its most important lands over the past few generations, including their beloved March of Highwall, as a result of vindictive successors. This has left House Conover at a fraction of its former strength and has greatly strained their commitment to the Crown. Growing discontent among members is threatening to unravel the House's "loyalty always" alignment.
5. Ambitious. Conovers are perfectionists that strive to excel, especially after the loss of so many of their lands. This often causes personal turmoil, as members struggle to reconcile their loyalty with their ambition. Deception is considered a strength, but lying is not. Conover ambition causes them to stretch the definition of loyalty so that it applies to institutions rather than people. Conovers will therefore regularly seek to take control of whatever field they find themselves in (provided it can be done through lawful means), regardless of the merits of current leaders. This, more than anything else, has caused the most friction between the Conovers and other Houses, as they feel that the Conovers are hypocritical bullies.
6. Proud, stubborn. As a House that favors loyalty above all else, Conovers consider themselves the most respectable House, one that has suffered much thanks to the disloyalty of other Houses. They believe that only they are fit to rule, for only they will put the kingdom ahead of their own glory (a belief called hypocritical by the House's detractors). Conovers despise members of organizations with shifting allegiances, such as mercenaries, and can be very insular. An old House saying is, "Loyalty begets loyalty," meaning that only those who are loyal to the House can expect to be trusted by the House. Conovers treat outsiders with suspicion until they prove themselves to be trustworthy. A stranger that does become a recognized ally of the House is treated with respect, though they are seen as a beloved servant rather than a true equal.
7. Hunters. Conovers have a long history of hunting, and maintain extensive grounds set aside for that purpose. As a result of their traditions, they understand the cycle of nature and do not seek to overhunt.
8. Hounds. The charge of House Conover is a wolf, and they maintain large kennels in their lands. Most Conover manors possess at least one hound. The Conover breed is hardy and well-trained, though they can be rugged and, like their masters, are stubborn around strangers. Conover hounds are not bred for appearance, and the House considers such impractical showmanship to be disgusting. Conover hounds are often set against each other in blood sports, though there are some in the House who disagree with this practice. Supporters claim that it is essential to strengthening the breed. (Conover hounds use the Gilnean mastiff model)
Played Family Members
Areyah Conover (Areyah/Aréyah), 47, Commodore in the Stormwind Navy Reserve, Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint, Stormwind Minister of Defense, Chairlady of the Council of Stormwind, Daughter of Elias, Mother of Cathee, Cousin of Anderyn III, Aunt of Anderyn IV, Aunt of Garon. [Lawful Good]
Areyah is the only child of Elias Conover, the former Baron of Ridgepoint. Though raised to be the perfect court lady, Areyah rebelled against her strict upbringing and attempted to spite her parents by engaging in terribly improper social activities. The First War changed everything, however. With the burning of her home and the forced evacuation to the northern shores of Lordaeron, Areyah found herself needing to grow up. She was encouraged to seek a marriage with other displaced noblemen in the hopes of exploiting the opportunity, but she instead chose to become an officer in the new Alliance of Lordaeron's military.
In the years since, Areyah has restored her standing within the family through her excellent service, though her refusal to get married (outside of one failed attempt with Sir James Norris) remains a sour mark. As a gesture of support for her, Lord Ridgepoint, Areyah's cousin, has granted her the ceremonial title of Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint.
In the last year, she has become a leading member of the Council of Stormwind.
Cathee Norris (Cathee), 17, Private in the Stormwind Army, Daughter of Areyah, Niece of Anderyn III, Cousin of Anderyn IV, Cousin of Garon. [Neutral Good]
While technically not a member of the House, Cathee has recently come to stay with her mother after selling off the Westfields property she inherited from her father, Sir James Norris. Cathee does not share the noble upbringing of her mother, having been allowed much freedom in her youth, and so regularly conflicts with her mother over various aspects of noble life. This comes in addition to the strain between the two caused by her mother's abandonment of her when Areyah divorced Cathee's father.
Cathee had aspirations to become a priest in the Chapter of Holy Anethion, but put that path aside after the Chapter's attack on the Council. Instead, she has enlisted as a medic in the 1st Regiment of the Stormwind Army.
Unplayed Family Members
Anderyn Conover III, 39, Baron of Ridgepoint, Son of Anderyn II, Father of Anderyn IV, Father of Garon, Nephew of Elias, Cousin of Areyah, Uncle of Cathee. [Lawful Good]
Anderyn is relatively new to his position, having only inherited it a few years ago. As his uncle, Elias, had no sons, Anderyn had long been expecting the barony to eventually pass to him, though his preparations have not made the transition as easy as he would have liked. Regardless, Anderyn does the position proud, and rules fairly and justly over his lands. He is even humble, a rare trait for a Conover, and doesn't seek any power within the kingdom at large. For his part, he is content to simply rule his barony as best as he is able.
Anderyn is a strongly religious man, having deep faith in the Holy Light. He is concerned with the growing influence of the Chapter of Holy Anethion, seeing it as a perversion of the Light's virtues, but has made no attempt to ban or otherwise discourage Anethion interests in his barony.
Anderyn maintains only a small, token militia in Ridgepoint, as the majority of his men have been sent to serve in King Varian's army against the Horde. He gave the title of Marshal of the Militia of Ridgepoint to his cousin, Areyah, though the position is largely ceremonial--the small militia is easily able to manage itself.
Emmanuel Hillfort-Deadwood, 48, Baron of Redfalls. [Lawful Neutral]
Emmanuel rules over the barony of Redfalls, which has a sizable Anethionian populace. Emmanuel is strongly opposed to the Anethionians, and is angered by Anderyn's refusal to formally condemn their activities in his own lands. While Anderyn does sympathize with Emmanuel, he feels that it would be wrong to dictate religion in the House's lands.
Emmanuel maintains a strong militia, which works to quash any attempt by the Anethionians to institute their own "whitecloak" militias in the barony's villages. Emmnauel fears that the Anethionians, if given the chance to organize their own army, would attempt to depose him.
Emmanuel has one daughter of two years of age, and is currently considering marriage arrangements.
Anderyn Conover IV, Son of Anderyn III, Brother of Garon, Nephew of Areyah, Cousin of Cathee.
Garon Conover, Son of Anderyn III, Brother of Anderyn IV, Nephew of Areyah, Cousin of Cathee.
Sir Vincent Castorby
Creating a Conover
Not all members of House Conover are of the family proper (as shown by Emmanuel and Vincent). The most common classes for members of the House are hunters, warriors, and rogues. Mages and warlocks are rare, with the latter being disowned if they ever break the laws on dark magic.
Prospective players may freely play one of the above unplayed characters or create a servant, retainer, knight, or new family relative, but I ask that you let me know by PM so I can keep in the loop. I'd prefer that the two barons are not played, as actual titled nobility can be iffy in RP, but I'm open to persuasion.
Disclaimer
The Barony of Redfalls and Emmanuel Hillfort-Deadwood are used with the permission of Melnerag.
Family traits: The Kaysen family is a Gilnean family with a mix of both human and worgen. A unknown number of family-members left Gilneas before the wall was finished, and many remained. A few of the members that remained in their home managed to avoid the curse during the Cataclysm, and thus there are even few younger humans amungst the family. The Kaysen is a large family, and thus there is a bit of everything in it - rich, poor or workers. There are many Light-worshippers and even a few of alternative beliefs. There are both good and evil members of the family, both alignments and choices of careers vary a lot. The ginger gene is strong in the family, and thus almost all Kaysen-born members are pale skinned, red haired with green eyes and freckles. A few traits can vary, such as eyecolors.
  1. Most are ginger-born with red hair and pale skin
  2. Worgen and human with different stories and backgrounds, the family is huge!
  3. A Kaysen family-member can be everything between rich and poor, good and evil and so on.
Family Alignment norm - Neutral
Addelaide Kaysen- Crowley, Addelaide is a woman of 31 years of age. She worked at Crown Street Osteopathy in Gilneas before the Cataclysm. To this day she is a Doctor of Osteopathy and works now in Stormwind City. Addelaide lost her family in the turmoils of the curse outbreak and the Cataclysm, not knowing wether her three children (two daughters and one son) and husband survived or not (these four characters are open for others to roleplay). Therefore she never speaks of this as it is one of her greatest worries and sadness not knowing if they survived or not. Addelaide was very close to the family-members she knew, and would be very happy to hear of any surviving relatives. Addelaide is a neutral woman, and has never really been put in a situation as of yet where she had to make her mind up about what side to choose.
(Addelaide is by no means related to Lord Darius or his family. The name Crowley is her husbands name, nor he is related to the Darius family. The name Crowley is simply a somewhat "common" Gilnean surname)
Gnome Groups [6]
^*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*^
Important Note:
I've changed the name Gnome "Families" to "Groups" as it is a lot more logical due to the text below:
Gnome parents name their children at birth. Gnomes have family names that represent an honored ancestor’s achievements, but they only keep these names until some time in their thirties. At this point, gnome society expects them to have made their own achievements, and thus the gnome invents a new name that represents his own accomplishments. This name then takes the place of his family name.
The Brokencog Family
Originally called the Goldencog family, they served for generations in Gnomeregan as courtiers and councilors in the Tinker's Court. However after a massive political upheaval and a mad bid for power the family was thrown into poverty and given the name 'brokencog' to forever shame them for their betrayal.
Family Traits:
-Resourcefulness, a Brokencog survives. The street is harsh and cruel but they survive.
-Intellect, even though education has long since left them, they are naturally intelligent and adapt swiftly.
-Technophobic, almost unheard of in gnomish society this family abhores technology, this is due to the great betrayal being caused by a malfunctioning communicator.
-Anonymity, if a Brokencog can do one thing it is disappear, become unfindable and change. A Brokencog's greatest wish is to lose their name.
Known Family (Those not deceased are available for play.)
-Professor Vezullia Rosetta Astroloxia, born Rosetta Brokencog was taken from poverty to live in Dalaran and learn the ways of the mage. (Alive, age 126)
-Annila Brokencog, Rosetta's younger sister who fled her abusive father with her mother to live in poverty in Ironforge. (Alive, age 101)
-Patrialea Brokencog (née Whizzerswitch) married for love only to find out she had married a monster, eventually fleeing with her daughter to Ironforge. (Alive, age 182)
-Devroius Brokencog, an abusive and cruel man, attempted to whore his children for scraps and beat his wife, a terrible and shameful waste of space who met a horrific end. (Deceased)
-Sir Troler Goldencog/Street Troll Brokencog, thrown from his position in the Tinker's Court to live in poverty on the streets of Gnomeregan after attempting to raise a coup against the leader of the gnomes at the time. (Deceased)
Yarnaat wrote:The Bentspring family is a Gnomish family, although they do not come from Gnomeregan. Being a strange and mysterious group of Gnomes they are often shunned by others that know of them. They're spread over the Eastern Kingdoms mostly, and have taken refugee in places such as Duskwood, the Plaguelands and a couple have even gone as far as to settle down in Northrend.
Family traits:
Usually pink or black hair.
A slight tan.
Most vary from average to tall.
Several members of the family are power hungry and clever. However, once having obtained an amount of power to be recognized many grow ignorant, arrogant and stop using their head as much. This does however vary a lot.
Some of them are mentally unstable and can quickly change their view of things, stab others in the back, grow from overly kind to cruel in the blink of an eye and some have even developed several personalities.
Played characters:
Soolie Bentspring - A power hungry Death Knight that has been marked as a traitor of the Ebon Blade, currently scheming up in Northrend. She's usually cold, uncaring for others, arrogant, ignorant and 'blind of her ways', not truly looking into the depth of things for understanding before taking act, often seen on as a brute. This has however varied a lot due to some mental issues.
Tini Bentspring - A shadowmancer who's using her profession as a chef as a cower. Although she's the sister of Soolie her ways are very different from hers; she nearly always plans before doing something if possible, she's usually careful not to get busted by others when doing withcraft and as she's specializing on the mind she's very manipulative and secretive. Rather than using brute force she tends to decieve others. Apart from the hunger for power she's nearly a polar opposite of her sister.
These two also have a brother, although I can't recall the name. He was very unlike his sisters and was pretty much a low life that lived in the trenches, as well as being quite fat and lazy.
[6.3]
So let me introduce the Coppersocket Group, before hand I'd like to ask anyone that decides to create one to contact me ahead so we can discuss it as there are certain quirks.
Updated
The Coppersocket Group is a extremely diminished family, after the disaster in Gnomeregan- Like many other, the Coppersocket family took a large loss. However, there are still Green Gnomes out there, spreading the Green to the world.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(No, we don't claim we own this, or anything of the likes, just use it for our own purposes, read more below)
Family traits:
Family Alignment norm - Lawful Evil
  1. Green, obviously.
    -
  2. Green hair, Green eyes. This isn't restricted, but it is -extremely- common. Only in very rare cases, do their children have different eye and hair color of natural.
    -
  3. The Coppersocket group has had many (sleeper)warlocks in it, but they're not all Warlocks. Some, like Mineral has dedicated themselves to a greater cause.
    -
  4. Heavy national love. The group are very dedicated to their race, they're also extremists, they believe Gnomes who has a swaying loyalty to Gnomeregan shall be purged.
    The Coppersocket group, is possibly what would be called a bunch of Nazis. They're not violent, but were they in power to do something about the less loyal Gnomes (were the Gnomeregan situation not so dire), they'd probably gas them to death or worse.
    -
  5. Inbred, now this is a bit of a odd one. They're not entirely inbred, however, there has been cases of inbreeding to secure the bloodline when there has been a lack of good 'material' to have children with. The group may be frowned upon for doing this, but they believe strongly in the preservation of Green.
    -
  6. The large reasoning behind the color green has been lost with Gnomeregan, but today they see it as a sign of strength. As the irradation is green, they wear green to show that they have the courage to wear the color of their greatest enemy without fear. They are dedicated to conquering it, and usher a new era of pure Green Gnomes.
    It is also a sign to honor those that fell in the battle of Gnomeregan, and to the lost lives of those who was defenseless during the venting.
    -
  7. The group's acquainted and supporters of the Wildhammer Clan, having supported them behind the curtains with donations. It's not weird to find a Coppersocket wearing a tabard of the Wildhammer Clan.
    -
  8. All Coppersockets are Lawful, as they try preserve the 'purity' of the Gnomish race. In nature, a Coppersocket is by standard Lawful Evil. However, Lawful Neutral and Lawful Good are also present, but not as common. Lawful Good is somewhat rare. There are cases of Chaotic aswell, but they are bound by the Family to follow the laws of their own nation at home ground.
    -
  9. The sensitivity to Arcane and the power to wield it is quite common in the family, with a 35% chance of not being able to wield it (speculated number), many Coppersockets are capable of becoming Warlocks or Mages (although Warlock is preferable if anyone from within the family asks) and have a slightly higher natural rank in the family than those that cannot.
    Those that can't will have to prove themselves by loyalty and trust to their homeland, their group, and show interest in the ideal of Pure Gnomes.
    Seeing as that the Coppersockets has had many Warlocks over the years, it's safe to say that it's their best trait. The Warlocks from the Coppersocket group are often well prepared during their youth to be able to handle the strain that Fel magic puts upon the user, and because of this they may be able to handle greater strains of the fel than most other Warlocks (without a family teaching them) would not. They may not be masters of Fel, but they are usually above the average.
    -
  10. Is not submitting to Shadow or Unholy magic, while Fel magic is one thing- In Mineral's rule, the act of Shadow or Unholy practice are strictly forbidden.
    This, naturally makes any Coppersockets who may have died and been raised as a Death Knight, automatically exiled from the group as their patriotic views do not accept Traitors into their ranks. This can be said about Shadow Priests too, however if the Shadow wielder is capable of hiding it from the group, naturally they would not be disowned.
    -
  11. Due to traditions of a Gnome changing their name when they come of age, the name Coppersocket is simply just required within one of the many names a Gnome needs to have to be a part of the group. Anyone exiled has this name permanently removed.
    This means that a Gnome named "Gilly Binsprock" would still potentially be a Coppersocket, and will most likely add that to their spoken name. So it'd be "Gilly Coppersocket Binsprock"
    The only one to actually keep the name itself after adulthood is the Head, or if the profession of the Gnome would be befitting the name. For instance Mineral's case, both these things apply.
Spoiler:
If you desire to make a Coppersocket, then there are things beyond this you may want to think about.
Most, if not all Coppersockets have names related too: Ores, Minerals (hue), Blasting powder, or Explosives.
The physical appearance varies a lot. They have a tendency to be short tho, but it's not always the case. There has been cases of very large Coppersockets as well.
They do not judge a Gnome because of his or her profession either, as long as it can aid Gnomekind in one way or another.
While the Coppersocket Group is certainly not a rich family, it got resources but nothing of great value. They've collected a lot of clothes, weapons and armors of the color Green which is passed down to family members within the group. These items are carried with great respect, and are often valued as much as their group name is for them.
So yeah, that's it. If you're deciding to join the Green cause, please send me a PM. I'd love to see more Coppersockets.
Mineral does have a few spots open for siblings who are still alive. About three, out of twelve are still alive, with both parents recently deceased.
- The Coppersockets also allow people to change their names to Coppersocket, if they fit the obvious requirements.
An OOC requirement I have is that you do not call your character Coppersocket with any ` or whatever, for obvious reasons, I'd prefer to keep it my own name- to avoid confusion.
- Played Group Members -
Mineral Coppersocket, 47, Criminal / Head of The Group. Twin v (Coppersocket, Coppersockét) [Lawful Evil]
After the fall of Gnomeregan, there were few Gnomes left within the Coppersocket group, let alone those willing enough to take up the leadership of the group (no matter how little there was to lead, or to control), and due to the age of most of the surviving Gnomes of the group and the crisis at hand, they didn't believe that any of the currently age appropriate members would at that time be able to see the city back in it's former glory within their lifetime. Because to this, they appointed the (then) teenage Twimsy to lead the group.
The reason being that they wanted to ensure that the girls of the group remaining, took the group seriously. However, Twimsy rejected it- as her childish rebellious nature simply had no will to lead the group. So, instead the group took the one to more likely fit their standards. This, being Mineral- She had already proven herself to group as very trustworthy, as she always wore dominant green colors, spoke well of her family, no matter what. and saw the need of survival.
She was also tasked with the difficult task of repopulating the group, be it either recruiting new Green Gnomes (last resort), or finding a proper Gnome with the fitting qualifications and have plenty of children with him. Failure is not an option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Malachite Coppersocket Felrice, Double Deceased, Traveling Chef / Warlock. Twin ^ [Lawful Evil]

Torturing her sister throughout her entire life, this ass is the very basic nature of a Warlock. Unlike her sister, she walked in her fathers steps of greed, with a large love for sadism.
Like the two's father, she was raised learning how to wield the fel energies, and became a pretty decent warlock. This, caused her great favor in the group, and was often seen as the prodigy child (with some flaws).
Malachite took up cooking early in her life, and rarely sat still. The love for cooking made her travel all around Azeroth, learning professional recipes, and gathering rare ingrediences. This girl, was certainly a master cook.
However, despite being the 'prodigy' child, she, like Twimsy, had no will to lead the Coppersockets, while she greatly enjoyed the carnal pleasures, she had no desire to have children or settling down. Children made people weak, and she would rather have her sister have children, so she could torture her sister further.

OOC: This character's demise has never been and is still not that widely known, and isn't known to the Family itself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Twimsy Coppersocket, 46, Cousin to the head. (Twimsy)
A rowdy kid, unlike many of the other Coppersockets, is younger than Mineral and Malachite. Cousin to the twins, she was the first to be selected to lead the Group to restoration. However, she strongly rejected it, causing trouble for the surviving elders.
Mineral is aware of the fact that this girl was first appointed, and because of that holds a grudge against her for not doing what her family told her to do. (Don't get me wrong, Mineral doesn't mind being the head.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Argentite Coppersocket Hydosincsocket Thoriumfuse, 88, Engine Specialist, Strider Racer. Older Sister to Mineral & Malachite (Argentite)

Argentite life revolves around just a hand full of things, racing, building or upgrading Mechanostriders and mechano tanks.

As she grew up she didn’t pay much attention to her sibling’s mainly due her focus on her mechanostriders. But was there whenever they needed her. Her studies in the arcane didn’t go to expectations; she struggled mainly due to not having the patients for the more difficult and tedious spells. She spent more time on her own projects, and causing trouble for others with her desire to race everywhere.

Her life (in her eyes) went from bad to great when she picked by a sponsor and became an official mechanostrider racer. Winning a several champion ships and seasons in her race career. She put her race career a side when she decided to try and upgrade mechano tanks. Argentite has returned to a small race career, but not in the same tier as before

She now spends her time split around racing and helping S.A.F.E with keeping mechano tanks in order.

- Non-Played Clan Members -

Coggy Coppersocket, Deceased (173), Father to Mineral, Malachite, and Argentite

(To be filled)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Titanité Coppersocket, Deceased (159), Mother to Mineral, Malachite, and Argentite
(To be filled)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Talc Coppersocket Feliron, 96, Brother of Mineral, Malachite, and Argentite

Blacksmith Apprentice in Ironforge, mainly works at the Great Forge with his Tutor, Beargrill. A massive Dwarf.
Talc is by teachings, a Warlock. However, not a practicing one. He- along with most of the other (still unwritten) Coppersockets, went his own way. However, due to his practice in smithing, he has at times been requested tools and objects, and sometimes even weapons and armors from his relatives.
He's not a kind Gnome, and despite his profession and general professional sense within it, he prefers to be alone, unbothered, and have been known to lash out and sometimes even assault his own relatives upon visit.

I've got a family I've been portraying on the Blood Elf side of things for a while.

The Sunburn Family.

In recent years, after the destruction of the first Sunwell, the one strong family has started to fall apart. Mostly due to the head of the family, Sir Altyran Sunburn, losing his marbles after the events.

Physical traits.
Orange and Red hair, usually curly.
Pale, freckled skin.
The name "Sunburn" is derived from the fact that they burn rather easily in the sun.

Legacy.
The Sunburns are quite wealthy, and have been for generations.
They have a rich history in knighthood, all the way down to the High Elf era.
Their family sigil is, what else, a burning sun.

Known Family (Bold name means they have been portrayed by a player. Other names have just come up in RP)
- Sir Altyran Sunburn - The father. Rules his family like a tyrant. After the majority of his people where culled lost his marbles. A drunk and severe fel addict.
- Lady < Unknown Unknown > - The Mother. Nothing much has come forward about her during my plays, she's "up for grabs".
- Domaethralas Sunburn - Altyran's Brother. Ignored the family legacy, never wed and pursued a career as a farstrider and... Theatre actor. Hates his brother. Played once or twice by Thelos.

- < Unknown > Sunburn - The Oldest Brother. Went to join the Blood Knight order before his younger siblings. Up for grabs.
- Lady Scuzy Sunburn - The middle child of three. Spoiled brat who got taught her place when she joined the Blood Knigt Order. <- Me.
- Astarus Sunburn - The youngest child. Eager to learn and extremely humble. Could never quite keep up with his older sister. Player.

I love this idea! I'll add the only family that could be joined on my side!

The Brokencog Family

Originally called the Goldencog family, they served for generations in Gnomeregan as courtiers and councilors in the Tinker's Court. However after a massive political upheaval and a mad bid for power the family was thrown into poverty and given the name 'brokencog' to forever shame them for their betrayal.

Family Traits:
-Resourcefulness, a Brokencog survives. The street is harsh and cruel but they survive.
-Intellect, even though education has long since left them, they are naturally intelligent and adapt swiftly.
-Technophobic, almost unheard of in gnomish society this family abhores technology, this is due to the great betrayal being caused by a malfunctioning communicator.
-Anonymity, if a Brokencog can do one thing it is disappear, become unfindable and change. A Brokencog's greatest wish is to lose their name.

Known Family (Those not deceased are available for play.)
-Professor Vezullia Rosetta Astroloxia, born Rosetta Brokencog was taken from poverty to live in Dalaran and learn the ways of the mage. (Alive, age 126)
-Annila Brokencog, Rosetta's younger sister who fled her abusive father with her mother to live in poverty in Ironforge. (Alive, age 101)

-Patrialea Brokencog (née Whizzerswitch) married for love only to find out she had married a monster, eventually fleeing with her daughter to Ironforge. (Alive, age 182)
-Devroius Brokencog, an abusive and cruel man, attempted to whore his children for scraps and beat his wife, a terrible and shameful waste of space who met a horrific end. (Deceased)

-Sir Troler Goldencog/Street Troll Brokencog, thrown from his position in the Tinker's Court to live in poverty on the streets of Gnomeregan after attempting to raise a coup against the leader of the gnomes at the time. (Deceased)

The Bentspring family is a Gnomish family, although they do not come from Gnomeregan. Being a strange and mysterious group of Gnomes they are often shunned by others that know of them. They're spread over the Eastern Kingdoms mostly, and have taken refugee in places such as Duskwood, the Plaguelands and a couple have even gone as far as to settle down in Northrend.

Family traits:

Usually pink or black hair.
A slight tan.
Most vary from average to tall.

Several members of the family are power hungry and clever. However, once having obtained an amount of power to be recognized many grow ignorant, arrogant and stop using their head as much. This does however vary a lot.
Some of them are mentally unstable and can quickly change their view of things, stab others in the back, grow from overly kind to cruel in the blink of an eye and some have even developed several personalities.

Played characters:

Soolie Bentspring - A power hungry Death Knight that has been marked as a traitor of the Ebon Blade, currently scheming up in Northrend. She's usually cold, uncaring for others, arrogant, ignorant and 'blind of her ways', not truly looking into the depth of things for understanding before taking act, often seen on as a brute. This has however varied a lot due to some mental issues.

Tini Bentspring - A shadowmancer who's using her profession as a chef as a cover. Although she's the sister of Soolie her ways are very different from hers; she nearly always plans before doing something if possible, she's usually careful not to get busted by others when doing withcraft and as she's specializing on the mind she's very manipulative and secretive. Rather than using brute force she tends to decieve others. Apart from the hunger for power she's nearly a polar opposite of her sister.

These two also have a brother, although I can't recall the name. He was very unlike his sisters and was pretty much a low life that lived in the trenches, as well as being quite fat and lazy.

Family Recruition Thread Empty Re: Family Recruition Thread

Post by Zalissa Wed Apr 25, 2012 4:23 pm

Yay I inspired you ;D I love this thread.

The Starwhisper Family:
often reffered to as 'house Starwhisper' or 'the Starwhisper clan', simply because it was so vast in its glory days but has greatly diminished due to the fall of Quel'thalas, and the families racial technique that has a heavy cost on life energy. The family mainly consists of high elves but has many humans too. They stem from Lordaeron but have played a massive part in the progress of the City of Dalaran, in retrospect they are spread over Eastern Kingdoms.

    Family Traits
  • The first and foremost distinguishable trait the clan possess is the family marking. The Starwhisper symbol is a rhombus shape on their forehead, and this acts as a threshold of mana, which basically means they can tap into mana they've been gathering for years when ever their base mana runs out, meaning they're very formidable opponants, as this means they can virtually not run out of mana in battle, using this ability also shortens their lifespan however due to the rapidity of cell regrowth when that much mana is pumped back into the body, which is why more high elves exist in the Starwhisper family than humans. It also varies in colour, the most common being purple or blue - this colour determines the characters' crystal colour.

  • They are usually rather pale.

  • Intellect is a common inheritance to a Starwhisper, given the majority of them have enrolled into learning magic. A lot of the Starwhispers are usually astrologists too.

  • A natural affinity for magic. The clan is made up entirely of magi, and thus arcane blood runs thick. This however suggests the family may have subjected to inbreeding to maintain the talent of magic.

  • Due to human and elf breeding for years down the line, (almost holistically) human members will have elf blood, and thus sport some elven features i.e. light skin, lithesomeness, symmetrical features etc.

  • The clan members names are usually elven-ish. And often have connotations with flowers (female) and astrology (male).

  • Each member gains the ability to 'crystalweave' - which is basically the unique ability to create crystals from raw power. These differ from mana gems because they can be manipulated into weapons and are not supplementary consumables. They also exist forever unless de-spelled and attract mana, so they can be used as pylons for magic, unless the creator that made them dies very suddenly of non natural causes, in which case every crystal they have made will shatter.

Family History
Being an entirely magi family, it goes without saying that they dwell in places that pertain such; this is mainly Dalaran, however few do remain in places such as Theramore, Stormwind, Shattrath and even regrettably, Quel'thalas (yes, some of the Quel'dorei converted to Sin'dorei, so it is possible for horde Starwhispers to exist). As their crystals are magical pylons, all the crystals adorning the roofs in Dalaran you see were created by the living remnants of the family. The red crystals that are used in the Violet Hold are also family made (Perhaps by a vault guard Starwhisper with a red crystal affinity?).

Other than that, the family are nobles, rather snobby and rich.

This family is open, and if you desire to make a Starwhisper you must ensure that your character has some of the above traits (Rhombus/Crystal weaving, Mage class is mandatory).
Appearance varies greatly however, and you may either be Human, half-elf, High Elf - what ever you fancy!

As the family was so large, multiple cousins, aunts, brothers, sisters etc to Alorah all still exist. So if you want to make a Starwhisper PM me here on in game, I'd love to see more of them around!

Played Members:

Alorah Starwhisper,
203 years old, twin to sister Sariella, and a middle child to Rin'elle and Rhomlyn Starwhisper.
Crystal Affinity: Blue
Alorah is perhaps one of the most accomplished magi children of the Starwhisper, specifically in the fields of Illusionism.
Before her graduation to Arch Magistrix and appointed teacher of Illusion in the school of Arcane Magics, the family mostly viewed Alorah as a bit of a failure, due to constantly day dreaming, and spending her time painting or drawing. Her bottomless enthusiasm and optimisim often came across as quite childish, as well as her nervous verbal tic - powerfully exclaiming 'Kora!' or 'Il'amare!' (Meaning: 'Courage!' and 'Success!') made her seem bratty/annoying; but she surprised the elders of her family when excelling greatly in Dalaran and her studies.

Sariella Starwhisper,
203 years old, twin to Alorah, middle child to Rin'elle and Rhomlyn Starhwipser.
Crystal Affinity: Violet
Sariella is merely an hour older than her twin Alorah, and is the exact opposite to her loud-mouthed and happy-go-lucky sister, solemn, serious and somewhat of a loner. Sariella always showed talent and diligence from the beginning unlike her sister. She is known for her power through out the family, but otherwise she seems to keep to herself.

The Photowedge Family - a proud Gnomish family, currentley very active in the Gnomish war effort and the Alliance Military.
Family traits: Blue Eyes, Blue/White Hair, Pride and Intelligence.
Family Alignment norm - Lawful, Good

I'm currentley looking for people to play Small's younger sister and brother, they both have the family blue eyes and blue-white hair. The sister was once the best mage in the family before being corrupted by fel and turned into a warlock where she's currentley in the middle of a mental break-down and the brother is fairly idiotic being a warrior/rogue and lacking the family trait of intelligence. Except that, those two roles are able to be roleplayed in anyway the player likes. I'm also happy for other siblings and cousins to come about, but those two are important. If intrested, poke me ingame or PM me on the forums. Please do not name your character anything like 'Photowedge' but instead use their nick-name of first name due to confusion.

  1. Most Photowedges are handy with a spanner, intelligent and proud of their ancestry.
  2. Most Photowedges are types of magi, although not all (as a result, a handful of warlocks are about). Small Photowedge decided to become an engineer and field-medic, forgetting about her magi skills.
  3. Most Photowedges are given traditional names but choose to either discard them, or forget them and use nicknames instead, (Small, Tini, Large, Smoke ect.)
  4. Most Photowedges are smaller than other gnomes, making them have eccentric nick-names due to height.
  5. The head of house, Small Photowedge, dissaproves of Fel, Blood, Shadow and Unholy magic but shall not turn any family users in to officials. It is frowned upon and may result in said member being distant from the rest, but not abandoned. Therefore; Warlocks, Blood-Mages, Deathknights and Shadow-priests are amognst the family although it is known to hardly anyone outside of the family, if anyone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Played Family Members -
Small Photowedge, 64, Head of House, close to all family members with the exception of two who she purged from the family. (Photowedge)
Small is smaller then most gnomes with the traditional blue-white hair and periwinkle blue eyes. She has a fairly muscular build and the strong sense of intelligence which are two of the key family traits. Although Small isn't the best engineer, she knows how to do it and dropped her talent and life as a magi to focus on being a fierce warrior and field-medic working for the Gnomeregan Covert Operatives, the Kirin Tor, the Alliance Military and currentley as Captain aboard the Pincer X2.

The Irondawn Clan - Unclear today exactly who it's founding members where, but the Irondawns them selves proudly and stubbornly boasts that they where of those walking out of Uldaman all those maney years ago.
The clan is today economical stabile, having a steady income from it's successful ram breeding. Being one of the mayor supporters to Khaz Modans mounted regiments.

Family Alignment norm - Neutral Evil

Family traits:

Raging patriots and strong believers in the supremacy of the dwarven race
---
Strong believers in the supremacy of the dwarven race
---
Royalists, the union of the Three Hammers is not one the clan have been actively supported.
---
Often seen as quite posh, beliving their clan is better than others. It is very rare spotting a Irondawn drinking with his fellow dwarf.
---
The Irondawn Clan is in overall not for the general stereo typical dwarf rp'er, it's members trade marks being of the intelligent and cunning kind (or at least this is what they will pretend to be).
---
Fat, thin, round, stick, weak or muscular the clan has it all. The big hawk nose is the only reel trademark the clan sports.
---

- Like most other dwarven clans the Irondawn will accept lesser clans joining them, taking the Irondawn name, if the circumstances are right.
If you wish to join the Irondawn clan PM me or Arkadii.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Played Family Members -

Arkadii Irondawn, Senator / Thane of the Clan, Senator of Trade (Arkadii) [Neutral Evil]

Having remained the Clans head of Treasury for a long many years, Arkadii have made contacts low as high all over the Kingdom of Khaz'Modan. The ram business is as lucrative today as it was when the Irondawn's first started it.
With a ruthless mind, Arkadii have striked numerous of great deals from the Wetlands all the way down to Stormwind, nearly making the competition outside of Ironforge go extinct from time to time.

But with the death Thane Gogol Irondawn, the reins of the Clan where shortly taken up by the ancient Eugune Irondawn that right away stated he would only hold the title untill a suitable heir would step forth.
