Re: Realistic Claims of Territory? (Lets stop things getting messy)
Peaceful negotiations IC, and OOC were attempted.
Deli, I don't know if you've spoken with this Nightwalker group, but they are possibly the largest bunch of self-entitled spoiled twats I've ever had the misfortune of running across. The fact of the matter is that they decided to come into an already established 'sandbox', kick over other peoples castles and claim dominance over something that wasn't theirs. The point isn't that they've claimed an out of the way piece of boat that nobody ever uses, but the fact that they outright refused to even talk nicely about it.
It's the equivalent of starting a gypsy guild up, 'claiming' the Cathedral/Ship/Barracks/wherever, and outright trolling anyone that tries to dispute that claim by annoying them with naked dancing gnomes, IC godmodding, IC/OOC harassment/general douchery, etc. etc.
Ironically, in the last paragraph, they've done all of that. It's nice to take the moral high-ground sometimes and just cave in to other peoples demands for the sake of good-will, but I will not sacrifice my own fun so others can have theirs. The last time I did that I made one of my characters kill himself because he was just such a nightmare to play and had no reason to keep him around.
I didn't succumb to their demands that my character should explode into giblets by their star-shooting Grand-Master Druid. I didn't succumb to their claim that the Stormwind Regiment gave the Cathedral to them, and I support anyone else that doesn't give into these demands of these people.
Damn RP terroristz.

You probably wont like hearing me say this, then, but...
If you dont want to roleplay with them, then why not just ignore them? Put the whole lot on ignore and pretend they're not there. If you dont want to play with someone, then dont play with them. Dont go into lengthy arguments or disputes: there are no winners in those. If some whacky wierdos claim the Cathedral as their own, just ignore them and go about your business as usual. If they start griefing you or lolling you, then you are within your rights to report them.
You dont have to "give anything to anything". The point is that you shouldn't be getting into these disputes to begin with. It's the wrong mindset, and causes nothing but trouble.
Oh, and I dont think I'm speaking to the wrong people at all. These Nightwalkers bunch sound like a bunch of unreasonable folk, so I'd much rather try and talk to people I know that are sensible, rather than to get into any bloodfeuds with people who aren't worth the pain.

Has the situation still continued in such a manner? I do believe that they should just generally be ignored, even if they continue in such a manner as to what they are currently doing. I do agree with Thelos, If you do ignore them and give them nothing to act upon, then, as most trolls do, will eventually get bored by the concept of trying to re-argue their side within (and I say this lightly) Whatever grounds they believe that their ownership of whatever area is currently being argued over and eventually stop.
As well as this, I don't believe that the Navy are always on their ships, They have to come to land at some point, don't they?

I think it was more of a matter of using the Harbour for recruitment and it just being made really difficult; people aren't going to want to join a Naval guild that's constantly at war with a bunch of morons.
There are ships at sea that the Navy can use (when at sea) but in the recruitment phase, they're based in the harbour recruiting people. The point was they tried to negotiate with the pack and were trolled and just pestered by the pack to the point that people considered taking it IC just to teach them a lesson.
Since then something's happened to make the pack move back to Raven Hill, (which considering they 'don't like rp'ing with others and want to be alone') is a far better place for them in terms of their guild style and probably better in keeping with everyone else's story lines in relation to the world we all contribute to and role-play within.
It's not about really realistic claims of territory, but everyone does 'claim' in some respects somewhere within the world, and that's expected on a role-play server...otherwise half of the guilds and organisations that exist, wouldn't; and it's clear from years of playing that it works perfectly fine..until one group come and try to spoil it?
Other than that everything works smoothly with a mutual appreciation for 'realistic' territories 'owned' by individuals because it suits the world that we've created with each guild and it's members.
