Anybody interested in getting a religious community set up within it, send me a mail. Been sketching a little on the way the hierarchy for the monks and priest would look like, but the religious aspect has never really been a keen thing of mine.

Yeah, I definately plan on trying out a Pandaren monk. I'm not too keen on planning these sorts of things in advance too much, though. I'd rather make sense of it all when I'm in the middle of it. Besides some tidbits I picked up on MMO-Champion, I know next to nothing about Panda spirituality, but I suspect that'll change when I play trough all the quests and start roleplaying.

From what I'v seen from you on the forums Thelos you do look like the man for the job.

Agreed with you, what we know at this point is little to nothing on the panda lore if you compare it with let's say the dwarven one, why we still haven't been able to plan that much ahead for the guild as hole. But all we need is a little patience.

This is my initial draft for a very basic outline for a core Pandaren spiritual roleplaying experience, based primarily on the Emperor's Burden and what we know of the Sha so far.

Working name:

The Sacred Five-Step Path of the Last Emperor

There are four (or five if you count Shado-Pan) monestaries, clans, celesial spirtis, virtues and sha's and cardinal wind directions and locations that ALL corrospond with one another.

So, I plan on drafting a journey for students to undertake where they will purge themselves of different Sha's in different locations and follow the path of the Emperor to enlightenment.

They start to the East, to the Temple of the Jade Serpent, where they will be cleared of doubt and gain wisdom.

Then they will go South, to the Temple of the Red Crane, where they will be purged of despair and gain hope.

Then they will go East, to the Temple of Niuzao, whre they will be purged of fear and gain courage.

Then they will journey North, to the Temple of the White Tiger, where they will be trained in the martial arts.

Finally they will end their journey at Shado-Pan monestary, where they will be cleared of anger, hatred and violence, gaining patience, love and peace respectively.

More on this as theorycrafting develops.

The five steps should totally be a zone wide quest!

It's nice to see that you're not primarily focusing on the Shado-Pan
(As I firstly presumed most would do when the first pictures / Beta Info was released about them) - The whole concept of being a shadowy figure is somewhat repetitive and boring now, hah, so I'm extremely excited that this Guild isn't primarily focusing on that.

I'd love to speak to one of you in game to talk about more in-depth ideas and what not, I'd be extremely interested in helping in anyway possible that I could.

We will cater to Pandaren from all walks of life. Pandaren from all clans, from Crane to Shado-Pan, will be welcome to join the guild. That includes Pandaren from the Wandering Isle who abide to the Tushui (Alliance) philosophy, though sadly because of game limitations we will have to exclude those who abide to the Houjin (Horde) philosophy. So, other than that one exception, anything goes!

You can contact me in game on Thelos (Alliance) or Harjuna (Horde) if you want to engage in some panda-talk.

It is still alive and kicking. To my knowledge, all the people listed in the first post in this thread still intend to roll a Pandaren roleplaying character from day one, and dedicate themselves to setting up a healthy roleplaying community and exploring and expanding upon Pandaren lore.

For me personally, I will be rolling a Pandaren monk by the name of Pao-Tszi Wulong, a cooky old master of the Jade Serpent Style, and will be trying to explore the Spiritual aspect of Pandaria, which will include the worship of the August Celestials and the combatting of the Sha.

Most of the players I have spoken about their plans for Pandaren roleplay seem to be most interested in the roleplaying of a native Pandaren, that is to say, one that has not spend the last couple of decades on the Wandering Isle, but rather on the Pandaren mainland.

While it does not look like the neutral Pandaren are getting any major capital city, or any easily identifiable leader, they will get various gorgeous roleplaying locations, courtesy of Blizzard's new philosophy of having instances be more firmly entrenched in the world. The White Tiger Monestary for example is huge with lots of open spaces, and is promising to be quite a magnificent place to roleplay.

All in all most of us are at the moment simply biding our time and playing on our current characters. There isn't much to do in ways of preparing, but I suspec that, a little before the Launch, we will start preparing, so that we will be able to get a guild up at day one to accomodate for Alliance Pandaren roleplayers.

We'll just have to be patient for now.

You could make the guild now with current chars and level it so there's perks on day 1 for Panda guild.
