The pandaren have arrived.
Though not yet playable, the pandaren have unmistakingably arrived in Stormwind and Ogrimmar.
Being the Pandafiliac that he is, Thelos immediately rushed to the landing site to declare undying fealty to Asyra Cloudbringer.
My question is simple.
IC or not?
RP with it, or not?
Personally, I think it is a little hard to deny something that is so obviously in your face.

They're here. They have arrived. I see it only as silly to ignore that.
News travels fast, but people travel slow. So any actual excursion South, and to Pandaria will take ages (in game terms) - the 4 weeks until launch of MoP seems like ages to me. And plenty of time to plan and organise to be part of the Horde/Alliance expeditionary forces.

They.are.REAL.
Justasthepinkelephants.
Isn't it part of the whole preparation for the future events, after all? Events happen in a progression, news travel, organization is required, armies and expeditionaries aren't spawned in two seconds, neither are settlements.

Go for it Thelos. They're here now, aren't they? Pointless denying that. People could easily say they travelled from the Wandering Isle and only just arrived now. Plus roleplay will be and is at an all time low currently, why deny something so big (which clearly is there, in your face as Thelos says) which could generate more roleplay?

It is actually quite good. We get a heads-up before an expansion hits, allowing for changes to be dealt with gradually, instead of the whole "world changing events happen suddenly, in cycles"-thing.

Horde-wise, this will be an interesting thing to discuss at the next gathering.. So I am in favour of the policy, "If its in-game. It's happened." Lich King fountain arrive before people have downed lich king? He's dead in lore.

I would wait, lets not jump the gun. By lore the only pandas who came over with Ji and Aysa were maximum of 3. Give it time

Would they though..? The npc that comes with Aysa isn't even a monk, he's some kinda warrior I believe. All i'm sayin' is let's not kick off the trend of people playing monks without being monks the reverse of the way we wish people wouldn't have played DKs that were Dks.
By all means -take an interest- IC and say, "Wow, this monk business sounds good!" But dont just go, "I r monk now. kthnxbai."

There are monk trainers there yes. And I didn't mean be a fully fledged monk. Just that, the character is obviously already alive(he's human btw, not panda).
I wouldn't be flipping around and using mah chi

Because we like to treat all our allies the same, after all, we didn't quarantine those dirty filthy elves, or those OUTTER SPACE GOATS!

Re: The pandaren have arrived.
I just had tons of fun role-playing around the Tuishi landing zone just outside of Stormwind on Thelos. I fear some of my excitement over the Pandaren may have leaked in to my character, though Thelos is the kind of person who easily gets excited whenever he has a chance to sample new cultures anyhow.
I can foresee the Tuishi landing zone becoming a humble Tuishi role-playing hub. It's small but decidedly pandaren.

Lucky for the Alliance, the vastly superior Huojin encampment is stuck in the middle of the Valley of Honour..

Forgive me Defias Brotherhood, for I have sinned.
I have been dungeonmastering the Tuishi monks around the landing site in Stormwind with some people.
I am so anxious to start role-playing pandaren I guess I can't even wait to be actually playing one!

I think people need to calm down about the Pandaren being here thing. I've heard rumours that people are talking about discussing bringing them into the Horde/Alliance, until Mists hits, we assume that Aysa, Ji and their retinue are just visitors, helping out the horde and the alliance respectively.
We need to be patient, and we need to stop assuming we know about Pandaria, and their race as a whole. Just my two cents.

Because they aren't here. For all we know this is a camp of 5 Pandaren either side, being all, "Kay we'll help." People are getting on like we've landed in Pandaria.

I disagree with this, I think it is a nice idea to "expect their arrival". One of the discussions you can have is 'should we allow the Pandaren in the Alliance/Horde, as they also work with the enemy'. My character will ask around in the Horde, saying she has received a request to open up the Silvermoon Library to study magic, and this has been requested by a Pandaren mage. I think it's a fun idea to start already, opening up. How do your characters respond to these visitors from lands we have never seen. Because when Mist hits, they are in your face, they are there and part of the community.
