[A] The Greymane Legacy
CURRENTLY INACTIVE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
The Greymane Legacy
>WEBSITE<
What are we?
The Greymane Legacy is a Gilnean heavy society based role-playing guild based in the RP-PvP realm Defias Brotherhood (EU).
What is the aim of this guild?
The aim of this guild is to bring Gilnean people to the light and how they are adapting with the cataclysm, not only this but the Greymane Legacy is different to the resident guilds of Defias Brotherhood. We are a civilized role-playing guild, meaning we capture the aspect of society that was most associated to humans, and naturally as the architecture suggest, Victorian.
The guild in it’s free time and early stages will also cover basic PvE and PvP aspects of the game, to cater for the requirements of all players as best as possible, not only this but we will openly and happily engage in wPvP in-character.
What makes us unique?
Without sounding pretentious and stuck up, we offer a dynamic high standard of role-playing attempting to be realistic as possible. The creation of an environment that will create most immersion is our primary goal and task here in the Greymane Legacy, and we will do our very best to bring this about.
Developed plot based events along with basic and simple D&D events that anybody can get involved will form a part of our uniqueness.
Role-playing guidelines
These are simple unsaid golden rules that most decent role-players go by, these ‘rules’ exist within our guild and will also be applied to our expectation of other people and how they interact with us.
Metagaming The use of out-of-character information in-character, i.e knowing the name of a person who has not introduced themselves, knowing the organization they are affiliated with, or learning something via whisper or party chat and applying it to your characters world.
God emoting This term is given to an action that is decisive for not only yourself but for another interacting with you. The general example is given as a hostile emote, i.e
Vrenya approaches you while loading her rifle, and shoots you in the head, you die.
This is what you do not do. If you don’t understand exactly please post or whisper an officer and we will explain it to you using a better example and a more refined choice of words.
Power emoting This is simple, role-playing as some sort of demigod being with enhancement abilities that put you above 95% of other role-players is completely unacceptable.
Power play The cousin of power emoting except not in the emoting sense. Power play is associated and attributed to you role-playing as a character with a vastly superior title or in-game rank. Examples include Field Marshall, King, so on and so forth.
Naming policy As a role-playing guild we will hold a strict naming policy. The name of your character is important and is an OOC first impression, it is important the character is named appropriately to the fantasy setting of World of Warcraft. Leet-speak named characters and simply OOC/immature will be declined without question unless you’ve got a really story as to why you’re named “leetkiller”.
The ranking system
As a society based role-playing guild we will keep the ranks simplistic without going into detail into any one organization such as a military or religious order. We will include both for people interested in role-playing in whatever sphere of role-play they wish to without any limitations. The ranking system might also adapt to how time and role play goes by, but it will remain a society guild to the core.
Note : The OOC/Alt rank will only welcome humans and worgen, no other races!
What is a society guild?
It’s hard to describe this without going into to much detail, but briefly and as much packed with information as possible. A society guild is a guild which tries to bring together various aspects of well, society into one community. Be it military, religious, mundane craftsmanship or simply being a citizen whom escaped, we will do our best to both represent you and provide relevant role-playing for you! Don’t forget that in a much stricken zone such as Gilneas, every hand and paw will be appreciated for assistance in any task, meaning that all aspects of society will work to one goal.
Rebuilding our destroyed home, Gilneas.
The chat channel
It’s quiet clear, that after the fall of the Greymane Resolve their existed no such community to represent Gilneas, so in an effort of good faith we’d like to present the chat channel ‘Gilneas’ to which all folk who are interested in participating in the Gilnean community are officially invited to!
What races do we accept?
Human Gilnean and Worgen Gilnean are the only acceptable races of our guild.
What classes do we accept?
We accept all classes into the guild.
We accept Gilnean Human death knights.
We accept Worgen wolfcult survivors.
The above criteria especially for death knights serves as the only set of circumstances that we will accept the death knight class.
If you have any questions about anything in this post, please don’t refrain from asking. If you want to contact us in-game, please poke Nakroth or Vrenya for further information.

Re: [A] The Greymane Legacy
Do you mean Realistic as in "As close to real Victorian life as possible" or "as close to, and well integrated with, warcraft lore as possible?"Nessra/Vrenya wrote:attempting to be realistic as possible.
I feel that sometimes these get mixed up, as some will interpreted "realistic roleplay" as one, and some as the other.

Re: [A] The Greymane Legacy
By realistic we mean adhering to both the warcraft lore and life in such an environment, naturally as well as such things as diseases, lack of technology and so on and so forth.

Re: [A] The Greymane Legacy
Thumbs up, then!
I had to ask because there are some groups of players that like to pretend the world of warcraft is a but more gritty and low-tech then it actually is, and that can cause some conflict every now and then.

Looks great!
I do wonder at the refusing of worgen death knights, however. Pyrewood worgen were candidates for it.

What classes do we accept?
We accept all classes into the guild.
We accept Gilnean Human death knights.
We accept Worgen wolfcult survivors.
I guess the survivors -part is a bit misleading
What we mean is that we only accept worgen DKs that were willingly or unwillingly part of the wolf cult and either experimented by Arugal, or risen by Arthas in Grizzly hills.

Re: [A] The Greymane Legacy
Ahh. The "we accept Gilnean Human death knights" combined with "The above criteria especially for death knights serves as the only set of circumstances that we will accept the death knight class." implied that human death knights were the only death knights you accepted.

Sounds very good. If Skarain someday finds her actual Gilnean roots (Feirand is not her real name) it might be trough this...if i ever get time considering all the plot lines going

Shameless bump!
Several members of the Greymane Legacy have relocated to Ironforge, and may assist the dwarves in their conquest of the north.
Is this a game of politics?
Join the Greymane Legacy and find out for yourself!

Thank you for your blessing, Anaei! <3
You should make a Gilnean character to join either the Greymane Legacy *cough* or the Gilneas Liberation Front.
If you don't have the time, simply make a character for the Assembly!

17th of April, at 21:00 - 'Basic Survival Training' to fend off the vile Forsaken of the north if required.
18th of April, at 19:30 - The very first Gilnean Assembly meeting to be held in Darnassus
19th of April, at 20:00 - The Gilnean community will be sailing to the coast of Gilneas to resettle the abandoned Kingdom.
A busy week; that's for sure!
Our numbers are growing fast, and there are always people online to talk and/or role play with!
Become part of the adventure by joining the Greymane Legacy!
